Metal Blade Records CEO Brian Slagel has been more active than usual in 2012, due in part to the label’s 30th anniversary. Press has been conducting interviews with Slagel for the past few months, some of which can be read on publications such as about.com and noisecreep.com. In addition to these various interviews and features, Slagel will be appearing at the Met Club Q&A at Orion Fest this weekend. The Q&A will be held at the Enter Met Club lounge, exclusively for Met Club members attending the festival. Slagel is one of many figures featured at the Q&A, including: Michael “Big Mick” Highes (Metallica audio engineer), Brian Lew (author and photographer), Q Prime’s Marc Reiter and more. So What! Editor Steffan Chirazi will be moderating Brian Slagel’s Q&A session at 1:15pm on Sunday, June 24th.

Metal Blade’s The Black Dahlia Murder and Charred Walls of the Damned will also be performing on Sunday, June 24th. BDM’s set is slated for 5:15pm on the Damage, Inc. stage, and CWOTD is scheduled for 6:00pm on the Frantic Stage. Comedy fans can catch That Metal Show’s Don Jamieson and Jim Florentine on Saturday, June 23rd on the Frantic stage at 3:45pm and 5:15pm, respectively. In between their two sets will be the Jim Breuer Heavy Metal Comedy Tour at 4:15pm.

Orion Music and More will feature 30+ acts across four stages with Metallica headlining both nights. They will play “Ride The Lightning” in its entirety on Saturday and “The Black Album” on Sunday to commemorate that album’s 20th anniversary. There are also events scheduled that are tied to the personal passions of each member of Metallica, including a Custom Car & Motorcycle show, Billabong All Out Air Assault Surfing Expedition, Ktulu’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Emporium, and more. There’s truly something for everyone: metal, indie, punk, alternative, and comedy acts. For tickets and more information, click HERE.
