WHITECHAPEL: Third In-Studio Video Posted
Self-titled Fourth Album out June 19th on Metal Blade Records

Today WHITECHAPEL has released the third and final video in a series of which was filmed during the recording process of their new self-titled release, which will be released June 19th on Metal Blade Records. This video focuses on the vocal tracking process. The video can be viewed HERE.

The first video in the series provides an in depth look at the drum tracking process for the album and can be viewed HERE. The second installment focuses on the recording of the guitar parts for the new album and is available for viewing HERE.

Having spent several years lauded as one of the frontrunners in their genre, in 2012 WHITECHAPEL stand as a defining force in contemporary heavy music. Building dramatically on the trademarked bludgeon of their first three releases, with Whitechapel the Tennessean sextet have inarguably delivered their most intense, dynamic, and downright hostile record to date. Drenched in atmospheric darkness, the record is also rife with gripping melodies that drag the listener in to the tumult, willing or otherwise, and across its ten tracks it is infused with an emotional depth that pointedly separates the band from the plethora of two-dimensional mosh-starters that have sprung up in their wake.

The album was engineered and mixed by Mark Lewis (Black Dahlia Murder, DevilDriver), who also handled production duties alongside the band. The album artwork was created by Aaron Marsh of Forefathers Group with art direction provided by WHITECHAPEL.

The first single from Whitechapel entitled "Hate Creation" is available for streaming exclusively HERE. Check it out and be sure to pre-order your copy of the album. The complete track listing is below:

Metal Blade's The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel, and Six Feet Under set to decimate crowds on the Summer Slaughter Tour!
Fans have the opportunity to vote for tour opener!

Metal Blade Records heavyweights THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, WHITECHAPEL, and SIX FEET UNDER are all confirmed to head out on the 5th annual Summer Slaughter Tour, presented by ESP Guitars and Indie Merch Store, which runs from July 21st through August 21st. Headlining the tour this summer is none other than Detroit MI's THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER with Knoxville, TN's WHITECHAPEL co-headlining the bill. Rounding out what is sure to be one of the summer's heaviest tours is Darkest Hour, SIX FEET UNDER, Dying Fetus, As Blood Runs Black, Oceano, Fleshgod Apocalypse, in addition to a special halftime performance by Powerglove.

What makes the 5th installment of Summer Slaughter so special is that the folks behind the tour are giving fans the opportunity to pick the band that will open the tour. Fans will get to pick from a list of 10 bands and place their vote on the tour's Facebook page HERE (deadline is April 11th). Voting is now open and Metal Blade Records very own DAWN OF ASHES are on the list so be sure to show your support and place your request for the extreme horror metal outfit. This tour is for the fans, so let your voice be heard.

"After months in secrecy, it brings us great pleasure to finally reveal our headlining status for this year's Summer Slaughter festivities. It is a great honor to be asked to play with so many talented bands… we had a killer time last round and this year will be no exception. Beers bongs will be had, horns will fly, and legions of metal fans will be left devastated! Bring your daughter to the slaughter… or something." Trevor Strnad of THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER

"We are excited to be a part of this year's Summer Slaughter tour. The past two years we have done big outside festival summer tours so it will be awesome to make it more intimate this summer and do a tour like Summer Slaughter. In 2008 we opened Summer Slaughter and now just 3 years later we will be back playing alongside some great bands and friends. I couldn't think of a more perfect way to return to the Summer Slaughter tour!" Alex Wade of WHITECHAPEL

"We're honored to have the opportunity to share the stage this summer with the best of the best in metal today…all that attend the 5th annual Summer Slaughter Tour will be left six feet under!" Chris Barnes of SIX FEET UNDER

Joining vocalist Chris Barnes, guitarist Steve Swanson, guitarist Rob Arnold, and drummer Kevin Talley on the Summer Slaughter Tour will be a special guest on second guitar. More information on that soon!

SIX FEET UNDER are currently in Europe playing shows with the new lineup consisting of Chris Barnes and Steve Swanson along with Rob Arnold (Chimaira), Kevin Talley (Chimaira, Dying Fetus, Misery Signals, Daath, and more), and Matt DeVries (also of Chimaira) stepping in on bass.

WHITECHAPEL drummer Kevin Lane comments on his recent departure
Recently Knoxville, TN's WHITECHAPEL and drummer Kevin Lane mutually decided to go their own ways and the internet is already abuzz with rumors as to the reasons behind the split. Kevin offered the following statement to answer fans questions as to why the drummer and the band parted ways:

"Over the past years I've had the experience of a lifetime and gotten to travel the world with not only a great band of musicians but some of my best friends. Unfortunately that time has come to an end. My playing had a falling out over the past year, thus I've decided to come home for good and go back to school full time. The past few tours I had the privilege of my good friend Gavin Parsons to fill my shoes and now another phenomenal drummer who I believe will do leaps and bounds of improvement to the band as a whole, Ben Harclerode has moved into the position until the decision for a full time drummer has been made. Thank you to everyone for all of your support."

Founding member and guitarist Alex Wade adds: "It's sad to see Kevin go, he was not just a fellow band member, but like a brother to all of us. I think it is honorable of him to step down to better the band. He is still and always will be an amazing drummer and talented musician; I believe it is just time for a new chapter for Whitechapel. That being said we would like to welcome Ben Harclerode (formerly of Knights of the Abyss) to the band to fill the drumming position. In my opinion he is one of the most solid and talented drummers in modern metal and we couldn't be more excited for him to be playing with us. Ben will be helping us out until we take further measures to decide on a permanent drummer, but that is just something that is not needed right now, nor are we taking submissions. Come welcome Ben on our upcoming headliner and watch him shred his kit!"

Catch Ben Harclerode and the rest of the WHITECHAPEL guys as they tour across the states as headliners on the Welcome to Hell Tour featuring The Acacia Strain, Veil of Maya, Chelsea Grin, and I declare war.

WHITECHAPEL’s latest release, A New Era of Corruption, entered Billboard Magazine's Top 200 Chart at #43 in its first week of release. A New Era of Corruption also debuted at #2 on the Hard Music Core Stores Chart, #3 on the Independent Albums Chart, and #5 on the Hard Music Albums Chart. In addition to breaking the charts in the states, A New Era of Corruption also charted in Canada coming in at #70 on the Current Albums chart, #9 on the Indie chart, and #8 on the Hard chart.

A New Era of Corruption marks the band's 3rd full-length album and 2nd for Metal Blade Records. Check out what press has had to say about the band's latest, and to date greatest, release A New Era of Corruption, which the group co-produced with infamous metal producer Jason Suecof at Jason's Orlando, FL based Audiohammer Studios:

"while there's a familiar sense of disgust spewed all over this third album, there's been some evolving back at the deathlab. It's easy enough to play fast and hard in death metal – easier still to make that all you do, but as Devolver's ceremonious opener builds intensities, leveling the blows with a calculated malice for maximum damage, the band sound deadlier than ever." 8/10, Decibel Magazine

"Say what you like about the way death metal has evolved, but to deny that Whitechapel are both insanely heavy and technically dazzling would be churlish petulance. They hinted at this level of bone-powdering brutality on their first two albums, but have slipped into a higher gear for their third, more than justifying their status as one of the few bands snapping at the heels of Job for A Cowboy…overall this is the sound of Whitechapel maturing and realizing their own considerable potential, with much precision, power, and simplicity." 8/10, Terrorizer Magazine

"The band presents a truly mixed palette with progressive asides, tempered harmonies and arrangements that take surprising yet complimentary avenues… Whitechapel now appear unconcerned with all-out heaviness, in its place they have sampled the breadth of their genre creating a metal record both balanced and deep." Rock Sound Magazine

"Sharp guitar melodies and serrated hooks augment the brawn without diluting it, and this new side of the band adds a superb twist to their already well-established fury." 3/4, Kerrang! Magazine

"a sound so thick you could bite into it… Whitechapel are leading the next generation of extreme." Metal Hammer Magazine

"Every band has their signature album. Slayer has Reign in Blood, Cannibal Corpse has Vile, Pantera had Cowboys from Hell. A New Era of Corruption is Whitechapel's masterpiece." 5/5, TheNewReview.net

"A New Era Of Corruption is more complete and more focused… Whitechapel has become the Behemoth of deathcore." MetalReview.com

"a deadly, lumbering and ultimately trend-free beast" Noisecreep.com

"What Whitechapel will put out this year is nothing short of some of the grimiest metal sludge to ever breach the Billboard chart, a three-guitar wall of sound bolstered by vocalist Phil Bozeman's rasp." Albuquerque Journal

"Corruption, venom and hatred. Tons of blastbeats. Stomach-churning guitar riffs. It’s kind of shocking that the new Whitechapel is better than their last, namely because This Is Exile was amazing." The Hartford Advocate

"there is no getting away from the fact that, as far as modern death metal goes, there are no better exponents of this breakdown laden mayhem than this triple-guitar monster." Planet-Loud.com

"The band's new album, A New Era Of Corruption, is eleven songs of being pummeled in the face with an iron pipe." CraveOnline.com
