UNEARTH launch video for "Watch It Burn" on MetalInjection.net!
UNEARTH's new video for Watch It Burn from Darkness in the Light is now streaming EXCLUSIVELY on metalinjection.net! The video, which was directed by Scott Hansen (A Day To Remember, I Wrestled A Bear Once, Maylene & The Sons of Disaster), is a dark and disturbing video to match the equally bleak lyrics of the song. The video can be seen now HERE.
Vocalist Trevor Phipps elaborates on the video: "This video captures both the energy we put into every performance as well as imagery of the dark lyrical content of "Watch it Burn". We want to thank Scott Hansen and his crew for their hard work delivering such a sick video for our fans to see. Check it out!"
UNEARTH will be re-conquering Europe starting March 20th in support of fellow metal heavyweights, Heaven Shall Burn. UNEARTH introduces Nick Pierce as their new drummer! A whole bunch of summer festivals confirmed!
Fans that have seen UNEARTH live on their recent trips to Alaska, Japan and on their US and Canadian tour with Chimaira, may have noticed a new face on stage. The guy behind the kit has been none other than up-and-coming drummer, Nick Pierce.
Nick Pierce is a self-taught drummer who's been playing since age 10. He grew up playing for local bands in the Seattle/Tacoma area (Culling the Weak, Eterna Nocturna, Embalmed) as well as LA based band The Faceless. Nick first sat in behind the kit for UNEARTH in May of 2011 during their two show trip to Alaska. UNEARTH discovered Pierce on YouTube where he had been covering Unearth songs, among many other bands, on a series of videos on his YouTube channel.
Vocalist Trevor Phipps adds: "Nick is a beast of a drummer and a great guy to hang with. I look forward to jamming with him around the world for years to come." Guitarist Buz McGrath compliments Pierce and says he has a "Great attitude, energy and the knowledge that we can throw the most insane riffs at him and he can create and adequately perform next level beats for said riffs makes it a little easier to sleep at night."
Nick Pierce shares his excitement about joining UNEARTH: "I've been a fan of Unearth for many years and I'm excited to shred with a great group of guys and support our fans."

UNEARTH: Worldwide Premiere Of "Watch It Burn" On Lambgoat.com
Today, Lambgoat.com hosts the exclusive worldwide premiere of “Watch It Burn,” the anthemesque opening track off UNEARTH's forthcoming Darkness In The Light full-length.
Blisteringly heavy both musically and thematically, vocalist Trevor Phipps comments: "'Watch It Burn' is the lead track from Darkness In The Light because we felt it captured the aggression and heaviness of the album while also staying true to our core sound from our earlier records. This is one of the only tunes without a guitar solo, but the harmonies are there to mix around one of the heaviest choruses we've ever written. The song is angry, fast and in-your-face while also allowing for a melodic bridge late in the song much like some of our older material. Lyrically, it is an anti-extremist song. It attacks both the left and right of the political spectrum while also calling into question extremist religious groups and their influence on our culture. All these political and religious extremists seem to manage to do is splinter society and turn people against each other that otherwise likely wouldn't be at odds. Basically we can put aside some meager differences and work to better ourselves or we can keep heading down this destructive path and eventually 'Watch It Burn.'"

Here is an update from American metal monsters UNEARTH:
"We wanted to let everyone know that tracking for the new album has officially begun! We're currently at Zing Studios in Westfield, MA tracking drums with our sit in drummer for the album Justin Foley of Killswitch Engage/Blood Has Been Shed. Foley was an obvious choice for this album for many reasons, but mainly because of his abilities and knowledge of heavy music as well as his long time friendship with the band. A decade plus of friendship has made this an easy transition for the band, Foley and our producer/engineer Adam D."
"In other news, we have decided to change the mixing engineer for the album to Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, White Chapel, Devil Driver, Trivium, etc.) from Audiohammer Studios. Mark is another long time friend of the band and we're excited to hear what he can do with our sound on record."
Guitarist Buz McGrath added this irrelevant comment about working with Mark, "Mark Lewis mixed me a drink once and I woke up in a swamp covered in anti freeze."
UNEARTH are aiming at a mid to late June release for the album followed by massive world touring.

UNEARTH taps Misery Signals drummer for European tour!
Massachusetts metallers UNEARTH have tapped drummer Branden Morgan of MISERY SIGNALS for their upcoming European dates as part of the Persistence Tour.
The band says, "Branden is a great drummer and has been nailing all the tunes in rehearsal. Everyone headed to the Persistence Tour can expect UNEARTH to be as solid as ever during this run."
The Persistence Tour — which also features SICK OF IT ALL, D.R.I., BLOOD FOR BLOOD, EVERGREEN TERRACE, CRUEL HAND, CASEY JONES and VERA CRUZ — will kick off on December 3 in Deinze, Belgium.

The band stated at the time, "The differences between Kerswill and the band started off as subtle, but became increasingly obvious over the past few months and it was time for both parties to go their separate ways."

"After three plus years of touring the world together and playing on our latest album "The March", we have parted ways with drummer Derek Kerswill. The most notable reason for the split are the creative differences. The time has come for Unearth to write a new album and creating music with a tight unit is the only way we can assure the best collection of songs possible. The differences between Kerswill and the band started off as subtle, but became increasingly obvious over the past few months and it was time for both parties to go their separate ways. We have shared a ton of great experiences and achieved many of the goals we set for ourselves in the time he was in the band. There is no ill will from either side of this decision and we wish him only the best moving forward."
"Creative differences are real and unfortunately have gotten the best of me. I wish the guys luck in the future and thank you to everyone who ever loved + supported "The March","Kerswill said.
Unearth won't skip a beat, though, as we will be announcing a replacement drummer for our upcoming European stint on the Persistence Tour shortly. Lastly some exciting plans are coming together for the recording to the follow up to 'The March' sometime early in 2011.

UNEARTH announces co-headlining European tour with Chimaira!
[20/05/09] UNEARTH have just announced a co-headlining European tour with Chimaira. Support comes from Throwdown and Daath.
"Co-headlining Europe with our friends in Chimaira is going to be a damn good time. To make matters better our long time buds in Throwdown and Daath will also be in tow to round out this epic bill. Good friends, good music, good times combined with some of the best metal fans in the World is sure to make for one hell of a tour. Get into it!", said frontman Trevor Phipps.
The trek will mark UNEARTHs first trip back to mainland Europe since November of 2008.
Phipps adds: "It's been a while since we have been in the mainland, so we are stoked to get a longer headlining set and really pummel through a bunch of songs. This is going to be a damn good time."

UNEARTH's 'Grave Of Oppurtunity' added as Guitar Hero World Tour downloadable track!
[07/05/09] Starting May 7, 'Grave of Opportunity' from Massachusetts metallers UNEARTH will be available as a downloadable track on the Guitar Hero World Tour. The song is from the band's latest album, the critically acclaimed 'The March', which hit streets last October. The song is part of the Ferret Music/Metal Blade Track Pack, which also contains The Devil Wears Prada's 'Dez Moines', and Chimaira's 'On Broken Glass'.
Lead guitarist Buz McGrath had this to say about the Guitar Hero release, "Yo! Unearth is jazzed that our song 'Grave of Opportunity' will be available for download for Guitar Hero World Tour. It's a kick-ass tune that is wicked fun to play, so start practicing your super awesome Guitar Hero moves. Get ready to feel the burn when 'Grave of Opportunity' drops May 7th!"
UNEARTH is gearing up for their upcoming North American tour with Testament and labelmates LAZARUS A.D. They're touring to support 'The March', which Outburn Magazine called "their most powerful, defiant, and affecting release to date." Revolver Magazine described The March as "magnificently majestic". The album debuted at #45 on the Billboard Top 200 upon its release.
