CATARACT going on hibernation! Last show for 2011/2012 at Abart, Zurich!
Swiss CATARACT will go on a hiatus in 2012. Read the full statement by the band:
"In the dark corners of Zurich, rumour is rife that CATARACT will be playing their last show this December, last show? Ever? I mean, ever ever? Of course not. The Swiss powerhouse of metal, loud, hard and merciless, doesn't even think about turning around and moving on to a normal life. There's too much truth to be said, too many stages that need to be rocked and too many pits that need to mosh! The grain of truth in this rumour is that CATARACT will go into an extended hibernation, as lead singer Fedi is leaving for a long planned and desired world trip for the whole of 2012.
Plans not only include the rest of the boys kicking back and enjoying some time off themselves, but also writing new tracks to be recorded and released as soon as Fedi has returned in early 2013. The metal machinery will be working again and steamroll all over Europe!"
"However, before the activities are frozen and the guitars given some much owed time to rest, CATARACT are honoured to play their final show for 2011/2012 at the legendary Abart club, which is due to close its doors next year. They will be supported by Lucerne's Silent Slander and Zurich's Beyond The Vortex, along with some other guests. And if you know the band, there will also be a bunch of surprises for everyone to enjoy – for example free admission to Abart's Maximum Kick Party on the same night! So, get up, dress up and show up for a night of good times!"

CATARACT enter Swiss album charts with their new album 'Killing The Eternal'!
Swiss Thrashers CATARACT have entered the official album charts in their home country Switzerland with their new album 'Killing The Eternal' on position 55! Congrats to the thrashing maniacs for this huge success. They beat out their predecessor 'Cataract' that entered the Swiss charts in 2008 on position 79. Great job!
Comments the band: "Well what can we say, we’re chuffed and very satisfied to hear we’ve entered the national album charts at #55, this is a huge achievement for us and a nice reward for all the work we’ve put in this band! It’s great to know that our music is appreciated and we’d like to thank you all for this massive support! Swiss raging Thrashers CATARACT have revealed the front art and track listing for their upcoming new album Killing The Eternal out on Metal Blade Records the 24th/27th of September 2010!

Recording, mixing and mastering is done and we can't wait for the record to be released! Once again we had the honor and great pleasure to work with our longtime companion and mastermind Tue Madsen in the beautiful city of Aarhus. We spent awesome and creative days in a small house at the beach near Aarhus, watching football, eating and recording our new songs.
We also shot some pics and small clips of our work at the Antfarm, which you will soon be able to see online on our facebook and myspace site. This is definitely the most heavy, intense and brutal stuff that ever erupted out of Cataract!"

Swiss raging Thrashers CATARACT have finished the recordings of their new album at the Antfarm studios in Aarhus, Denmark under the direction of long-time band producer Tue Madsen.
CATARACT's new effort will be entitled 'Killing The Eternal' and is set for release September 24/27 via Metal Blade Records in Europe!

CATARACT busy with pre-production for new album!
A news update from our Swiss thrashing buddies from CATARACT who are busy working on their new album!
"We've been busy bees the past couple of months and we're happy to announce that we'll spend a weekend at Ralph Winzer's AssBurn Studios to record nine (or more) all new tracks for our upcoming new album or rather our personal enjoyment. This is due on the 8th/9th of may 2010 and we're basically doing it to get a good impression of how the songs will sound like outside of ze bunker. Ralph has – amongst other projects - recorded the last album of his (and Tom's) death metal commando Disparaged so we're quite keen on the result of this session! First shows will be announced soon, too!"

CATARACT entering studio in June/July to record fourth album for Metal Blade!
Swiss Thrash heroes CATARACT have changed plans and pushed back their studio time to June/July. Straight from the keyboard of drummer Patrick Dürst:
”It’s murphy’s law. As soon as you have everything sorted, everything changes again. Here we go: our planned stay in the studio will be moved towards June/July, this will give us more time to sharpen the blades so it’s not a bad thing after all. However, the release date will also be moved and we’ll keep you posted about it as soon as we know more. We’re already more than busy with the new material and we will have a pre production done in Feb/march.”
The band will nevertheless play a couple of shows over the next few months: “We will add some dates very soon as these changes give us some space. However, we will keep the amount of shows to a minimum so we don’t obstruct the preparations/work on the new album. Check our dates section and our MySpace to see the dates we have confirmed. Changing the studio also means we’ll have to cancel some shows for summer which have already been confirmed but not yet announced. We’re sorry about this but you’ll understand that our 6th album is our top priority!”
