3's new album The Ghost You Gave to Me is currently streaming in its entirety courtesy of AOL Music HERE. Get your first listen today before you pick up the album right after!
The Ghost You Gave to Me was recorded at Applehead Studios (Coheed and Cambria, Morningwood, Straylight Run) in Woodstock, NY. This is the band's sixth studio album since 1999 and is a massive step forward for the group. The 3 trademarks are intact - many musical peaks and valleys, bright and uplifting chorus's alongside dark and heavy passages powered by Gartdrumm's aggressive drumming and the acoustic/electric guitar duo of Joey Eppard and Billy Riker. The Ghost You Gave to Me is 3 at their most inspired.
Following the release of Revisions and after several tours with Porcupine Tree and an epic run on the first Progressive Nation Tour with Dream Theater, Opeth and Between the Buried and Me, 3 returned home brimming with inspiration. Joey Eppard, Billy Riker, Daniel Grimsland and The Gartdrumm immediately began creating demos of ideas that would evolve into The Ghost You Gave to Me. It wasn't long before the songs took on a life of their own. The band found themselves growing out of the standard rock compositional format into something more cinematic in nature. Joey Eppard adds: "The songs told us where to go and the instrumentation followed. We knew this record would be our most progressive but it would be on our terms, and in our own way. As always songwriting and melody are the driving forces behind the sounds capes we generate. I think the biggest challenge was to rise to the occasion lyrically with so many musical scene changes. What I found was that I had to let go and allow the words and melody to be as creative and original as the music, if not more so. In a progressive situation this can be time consuming and indeed the bulk of my efforts were focused on exceeding my own lyrical standards. For example, "Only Child," an eight minute epic that traverses a myriad of musical scenes has enough great lyrics for half a record."

3 Issues an update on their new album!
Woodstock, NY's 3, one of the world's most innovative rock bands, has signed a new deal with Metal Blade and is working on their new album. Previously, they have released Wake Pig (2005), The End Is Begun (2007) and Revisions (2009) on Metal Blade. 3's entire discography now spans over a decade, going all the way back to Paint By Number (1999) and Summercamp Nightmare (2003). Over the course of their career they have toured with the Scorpions, Porcupine Tree, Dream Theater, Opeth, Between the Buried and Me, and many, many more.
3's Joey Eppard offers the following update: "We are well on our way to making our greatest 3 album yet. After looking at several horrific offers from other labels, we decided to continue with Metal Blade Records because they actually care about our music and truly believe in what we do. We were tossing around the idea of releasing it one song at a time, each with a video. Basically like episodes. Let us know what you think."
3's official music videos for Alien Angel, All That Remains and Rabid Animal can be seen now on MetalBlade.tv.

THREE (3) release new album ‘Revisions’ next week Monday! New song posted online!
Revisions is the title of THREE’s latest work and, as described by the band, is a collection that “taps the rich history of 3 by re-examining some of the earlier songs that made us who we are today. Some of them are known from early live bootlegs, others existed only on cassette and were transferred to the internet by dedicated fans. In any event, these are songs that we felt deserved a second chance, a “revision” if you will. Our passion for music is truly the common thread that binds our diverse body of work.”
Check out the brand new song ‘Halloween’ HERE!
THREE just filmed a brand new video for the song Rabid Animals with the help of their fans who participated to the video shooting interactively. Click HERE for some impressions.

New THREE album 'Revisions' out in October!
[03/09/09] American Progster THREE will release their new album Revisions on October, 26 via Metal Blade Records!
Here´s some words on Revisions by THREE mastermind Joey Eppard:
"3 has always been a band apart. We've never been afraid to follow the artistic impulse, whether it has lead us to genre bending progressive experimentation, or, as in the case of ‘Revisions’, drawn us into a world defined more by melody and lyric than by instrumental prowess. It goes without saying that our goal has always been to create a symbiosis between these qualities, but on this record we find the poles have shifted in favor of the singer-songwriter element of what we do. This collection taps the rich history of 3 by reexamining some of the earlier songs that made us who we are today. Some of them are known from early live bootlegs, others existed only on cassette and were transferred to the internet by dedicated fans who somehow dug them up (possibly out of my garage). In any event, these are songs that we felt deserved a second chance, a "revision," if you will. Our passion for music is truly the common thread that binds our diverse body of work!"
