SISTER, die aus Stockholm/Jönkoping stammen, formierten sich Anfang 2006 und arbeiten seitdem hart daran, ihren Ruf als exzellente Live- und Studioband zu festigen. SISTER bestehen aus vier Bandmitgliedern und verbinden den Sound von Punk, Glam, Rock und Metal, was zu einem Endresultat führt, das klingt wie ein Bastard aus GG Allin und Guns N’ Roses.
In den Jahren 2006 und 2007 spielten SISTER zahlreiche Gigs in ganz Schweden. 2008 betourten sie europäische Länder wie Deutschland, Österreich, die Schweiz, Holland, Dänemark und Norwegen. Im Jahre 2009 veröffentlichten SISTER die EP Deadboys Making Noise und ein Video zum Track “Too Bad for You,” und heimsten so gute Reviews bei Kritikern und Fans ein. So wurde auch Primordials Alan Averill ‘Nemtheanga’ auf die Band aufmerksam. Alan, der seit kurzem als Assistent der A&R Abteilung von Metal Blade Records fungiert, stellte SISTER dem Label vor und verhalf ihnen so zu ihrem nun unterschriebenen weltweiten Deal.
SISTER haben Fans auf der ganzen Welt und gelten als äußerst hoffnungsvoller Newcomer. Als Teil Metal Blades illustren Rosters werden SISTER mit ihrem rohen und energetischen Punk Metal die Welt im Sturm erobern. So sieht es die Band selbst: “SISTER is all about givin’ in to whatever you are into. Live the way YOU want and not how some fuckin’ narrow-minded piece of shit tells you to. Enjoy your fucked up life and throw yourself into whatever feels right. That’s the SISTER way of thinking! Or just fuck things up till you drop.”
Was ist es, was diese Band künstlerisch antreibt? Natürlich der Wille, eine arschtretende Rock N’ Roll-Show abzuliefern, aber auch das Ziel, den Leuten ein wenig die Augen zu öffnen, wie man sein eigenes Leben leben kann. “Most people nowadays are fast to judge you, whatever it might be about. We do what we want both with our music and in our lives. If you have a problem with it, well that’s your fuckin’ problem. That’s one thing that drives this band, to show people that you don’t have to follow in line all of the time. And we kinda just like to piss people off. Ha!” Bezogen auf SISTERs Liveshow können die Fans das totale Chaos erwarten. “When you see SISTER live, you see four guys tear the stage up and we expect you to do likewise. When you see SISTER you forget about your shitty life situation or whatever your problems are and you just fuckin’ go with it. Tear shit up with us!”
SISTER sind bereit, die Welt mit ihrem Metal Blade Debüt HATED in Schutt und Asche zu legen!
“With this album we really think we captured what we’ve been doing the last couple of years. What type of music we’re into and wanna do. We really are a band that loves being on stage and think that doing shows is what music is all about. When we had the finished songs and put them together in the order we felt right we realized that we made it the same way we do our shows. We’ve managed to capture the aggressive sound and feeling that we’re creating on stage!”
HATED wurde von Tobias Lindell (Hardcore Superstar, Crashdïet, Europe) abgemischt. Dieser Kerl wusste, was er tut! “About the sound and essence of it all – it’s a raw record. Raw, fast, heavy and sounds like the place we are in today. Tobias really got what we wanted and it all came very easily. It’s a big sounding record but still with that punk feeling we think is really fucking important. Gives it all the edge you lose when you over do it. We’re fucking stoked about the result and can promise that everyone that listen to the record will feel the same. People that are into us since our earlier releases but also people that hear us for the first time will get all they wanted and a lot more from the expectations they have listening to a Sister record. As we’ve said, this is not like anything you’ve heard before. This album is a combination of all kind of inspirations from glam/punk rock to classic rock n roll, death metal and beyond.
