CATTLE DECAPITATION begins recording new album!
CATTLE DECAPITATION entered Denver, CO's Flatline Audio on January 7th to record the highly anticipated follow-up to their critically-acclaimed album The Harvest Floor (2009 on Metal Blade Records).
Front man Travis Ryan has this to say: "We spent the first two days mapping out tempos and getting things situated, drums mic'd all that stuff. Just started tracking drums today and everything is sounding great! We're excited to start laying down some tones and getting this beast finished and in the hands of our fans and friends."
The band has a small crew filming all steps of the way so fans of the band can look forward to studio video reports via the band's YOUTUBE channel and getting the full album details in the coming weeks when album title, cover image and track listing as well as immediate U.S. and European tour plans are revealed!
The new album will be the follow up to the critically acclaimed The Harvest Floor. The album is widely accepted as the band's most accomplished and best release to date. The CD garnered heaps of praise from fans and press alike.
"Lyrically and musically, The Harvest Floor is an impressive work of art…there's a sophistication to every aspect of this album that wasn't present on earlier efforts." Alternative Press Magazine
"It's a requiem in the slaughterhouse. Guts swamp the floor, and Cattle Decapitation are bursting at the seams." Decibel Magazine
"This isn't just some angry metal band, these are musicians and artists out to create something genuine or die trying." CraveOnline.com
"Cattle Decapitation have the sort of skills that put them squarely at the head of grind's noisy pack." MetalSucks.net
"The Harvest Floor is the band's most brutally intense work to date." Thrasher Magazine

German Thrash Metal legends EXUMER launch video trailer with music and artwork of upcoming new album "Fire & Damnation"!
Legendary German Thrashers EXUMER have just launched a video trailer for their long anticipated comeback album Fire & Damnation, to be released April 6th/10th via Metal Blade Records in Europe!
Surf over to Metal Blade TV at HERE to check out the trailer that features music of Fire & Damnation as well as the stunning front cover. The art direction and production of the clip was executed by German-born artist Cyphers-X, who has worked with bands such as The Very End in the past.
Comments EXUMER singer Mem V. Stein:"We are very excited for our fans to hear and see a taste of things to come and what they can expect from "Fire and Damnation". We intentionally worked with Cyphers-X to keep the trailer short and to the point, which is a perfect representation of the album. Fans can expect nothing short of some of the most pure, uncompromising and undiluted thrash metal they have heard in a long while."
EXUMER recorded their first new album in 24 years with renowned producer Waldemar Sorychta(Grip Inc., Therion, Sodom, Moonspell, etc.) at the helm. The 10-track strong, hard-hitting CD Fire & Damnation combines a punishing production with aggressive song writing. EXUMER manages to capture the intensity and feel of the 1980s thrash metal gems and yet sound up to date on their latest output.
Fire & Damnation will catapult EXUMER back in the forefront of the international music markets and the following live assaults in 2012; will only further cement the band's cult status among the ranks of classic thrash metal acts in the world!
EXUMER are:
Mem V. Stein-Vocals
Ray Mensh-Guitars
T. Schiavo-Bass
H.K.-Guitars
Matthias Kassner-Drums
Formed in 1985, by singer/bassist Mem V. Stein and guitarist Ray Mensh, EXUMER went on to release two albums in 1986 (Possessed by Fire), and 1987 (Rising from the Sea), that are regarded as some of the most cult thrash metal releases ever to come out of Germany. EXUMER was also one of the first thrash metal acts to capture exotic, foreign markets like Poland and Brazil, where their albums were domestically released in the 1980s. The subsequent tours that followed those releases secured the band live shows in front of thousands of fans and an unusually large following outside of Germany.
Plagued by line-up changes and internal turmoil the band broke up in 1990, and did not perform live, with the exception in 2001 at the prestigious Wacken Open Air Festival, until 2009.
Mem and Ray decided to re-activate EXUMER in 2008, and the band embarked on their first tour since 1988, where they played 5 shows in April/May of 2009. The"5 Nights of Fire Tour", took the band through Europe (Germany, Holland, Greece), and the USA, where they headlined the "Thrasho de Mayo Festival",in front of 1300 fans in Los Angeles.
EXUMER returned to Europe in spring and the fall of 2010, where the band appeared at Norway's "Inferno Festival", among other stops in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Poland and Bulgaria during their "European Ignition Tour Part I & II".
Watch out for Fire & Damnation to be released the 6th/10th of April, 2012! Fire & Damnation will be released as a limited Digipak-CD including three bonus tracks as well as on vinyl!
More details on Fire & Damnation and the first new song will be posted soon!

OSI: Brand New Album Announced! Tracklisting and Album Artwork Revealed
"Fire Make Thunder" Audio Medley Now Available!
Fire Make Thunder marks the fourth undertaking for the collaborative duo known as OSI. Formed in 2002 by Jim Matheos (Fates Warning, Arch/Matheos) and Kevin Moore (Chroma Key, former Dream Theater keyboardist), OSI is a long distance partnership, both musicians typically writing and recording alone and sending song ideas back and forth for further elaboration. Written and recorded throughout most of 2011, this latest release once again reflects the eclectic influences of both Matheos and Moore.
Fire Make Thunder is slated for a March 23rd/26th release via Metal Blade Records. Today OSI unveils the artwork and the tracklisting for their fourth release.
Tracklisting:
1) Cold Call
2) Guards
3) Indian Curse
4) Enemy Prayer
5) Wind Won't Howl
6) Big Chief II
7) For Nothing
8) Invisible Men
Additionally OSI has released an exclusive audio medley from Fire Make Thunder, which features audio samples from the upcoming release. The medley as well as pre-order opportunities can be accessed HERE.
Returning as the band's session drummer is Gavin Harrison of Porcupine Tree, this time co-writing one of the tracks with the band. All other instruments and programming were performed by both Matheos and Moore, while vocals and lyrics were handled exclusively by Moore.
All of the recording for Fire Make Thunder, with the exception of drums, was done by Moore and Matheos at each musician's respective home studio with drums being recorded at Harrison's home in London. Final overdubs as well as some additional writing/arranging was completed in July 2011 in Jamaica, Iowa, where the band mixed alongside engineer Matt Sepanic at Sound Farm Studio and Recording Environment. Mastering was handled by renowned engineer Roger Siebel. The record was produced by both Moore and Matheos.
We reached out to OSI for comments on the album. Our calls have not been returned.

PRIMORDIAL announce two UK shows in May 2012!
PRIMORDIAL have announced two headline shows in the UK in May 2012. They'll play Manchester on the 4th and London the following night.
Singer Nemtheanga is looking forward to their first UK club shows in three years:
"So finally we can announce some good news for the UK….two headlining shows in May in London and Manchester. It's been quite a few years since we've played club shows in the UK that weren't connected to a festival of one sort or the other and considering the unfortunate circumstances surrounding our appearance at Bloodstock last year where my voice gave out. The one and only time in 20 years and it had to happen on the mainstage at Bloodstock! So hopefully these shows will go someway to making recompense for that and a chance for us to play a full set in a country we don't visit often enough that has supported us from day one! See you on the field…"
Joining them on stage will be Hell and Winterfylleth.
