	SKYFORGER "Kurbads" RELEASED: 26/04/10


	SKYFORGER honoured at Latvian music awards! Announce new band member! Latvian Pagan metal masters SKYFORGER have been honoured in the "best rock album" category at the 15th annual Latvian Music Awards "Gada Balva" ceremony (the Latvian equivalent to the Grammy awards) for their latest album *Kurbads, released on Metal Blade Records in the April of 2010! The largest and oldest Latvian music awards show was held February 22, 2011 at the National Theatre in Riga, Latvia and was broadcasted live on the Latvian channel TV3. The Gada Balva music awards have been presented since 1994. A full list of nominees and other information about the awards are available by visiting http://www.gadabalva.lv On the 18th of March there have also been the Latvian Metal Music Awards, organized by the local metal community and the results were determined by all Latvian metal fans via Internet voting. SKYFORGER* won the two categories they were nominated at: 1) BEST METAL ALBUM OF 2010 2) BEST METAL BAND OF 2010 Comments the band: "SKYFORGER would like to greatly thank everyone who voted for us and appreciated our music! Paldies visiem faniem!" In other news SKYFORGER announce a line-up change. Guitar player Martins is too busy with his new job and therefore could not make any further commitments to the bands activities. Welcome new axeman Egons, who is also member of world famous Latvian post-folk band ILGI ( http://www.myspace.com/ilgimusic). The band members also produced the album themselves to make sure the recording sounds authentic and to 100% like SKYFORGER. *Kurbads* offers the typical SKYFORGER fusion of various metal styles, like old school Thrash and Heavy Metal as well as Latvian Folk music, all rounded up with the trademark SKYFORGER sound! The whole artwork was created by SKYFORGER's guitarist Martins and is connected to the story of *Kurbads. More information regarding the concept of Kurbads* will be revealed shortly.
