"Phoenix Amongst the Ashes"

Hate Eternal: Music video for 'Lake Ablaze' now live on Noisecreep
In late May, Erik Rutan and co. shot their first music video for a track off the band's latest album Phoenix Amongst the Ashes in Tampa, FL with director David Brodsky of MyGoodEye (The Black Dahlia Murder, The Devin Townsend Project, Amon Amarth, Suicide Silence, Municipal Waste, Whitechapel, etc). The video, for the song Lake Ablaze, was funded by Scion A/V who has pledged its continued support of expression through sound and visuals by presenting a fifth installment of eleven new music videos featuring a conglomeration of talented musicians and filmmakers. "Scion A/V is constantly dedicated to the enrichment of the entertainment culture. Producing an extensive collection of music videos will help the company grow and prove its dedication to an ever-evolving music and film industry." says Jeri Yoshizu, manager of sales promotions for Scion.

Check out the video HERE and be sure to leave a comment and spread the word.

Phoenix Amongst the Ashes was released on May 10th and was hailed as "a relentless, intricate, and near-anthemic crowd-pleaser" by Revolver Magazine. Albert Mudrian of Decibel Magazine declared that Phoenix Amongst the Ashes is "the best death metal record I've heard in FOREVER!" while the folks over at Metal Sucks proclaim that "Phoenix Amongst the Ashes is the moment Erik Rutan's entire career has been leading towards -- it's heavy, it's catchy, and it's innovative. This is the best death metal album of 2011 so far, and other bands are going to have to work pretty hard to top it." Jade Simonetto's performance was complimented by the highly respected DRUM! Magazine: "Phoenix showcases a far more dynamic band. Guitar passages range from weedly to art-y to textured…juxtaposing break-neck verses with near-mid-tempo groove sections…Simonetto takes the gold for endurance." Needless to say, Phoenix Amongst the Ashes is in the running for one of the best overall death metal releases of 2011 and could very well be considered the best of the band's long and storied career.

HATE ETERNAL new single off 'Phoenix Amongst the Ashes' premieres on Decibel Magazine's site!
Second single 'Lake Ablaze' now live! Preorder packages still available!

The latest single Lake Ablaze off the upcoming death metal grand opus, Phoenix Amongst the Ashes (out May 10) is live and currently streaming on Decibel Magazine's site HERE.

"Lake Ablaze is a song that starts with a traditional kind of HATE ETERNAL vibe to it, but travels down a much heavier and darker path. With its sinister dynamics and truly creepy aura, I think this song really stands out for its unique elements and is just pure evil to the ears. Every song on this album is very unique from one another so this is one of many journeys people will endure while listening to Phoenix Amongst the Ashes" – Erik Rutan

HATE ETERNAL premier second of series of six videos from the recording of "Phoenix Amongst the Ashes" exclusively on Metal Injection!
Euro tour to kick off this week!

The second of six HATE ETERNAL video clips is currently live on Metal Injection – HERE - one of metal's premier destinations for video interviews with bands, live performance footage, and coverage of everything metal. Check out footage of Erik Rutan and co. in the studio as they work on recording Phoenix Amongst the Ashes and stay tuned to Metal Injection over the coming weeks as the site posts four more video clips from HATE ETERNAL in the studio!

HATE ETERNAL recorded their fifth studio album at frontman Erik Rutan's own Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, FL with mastering handled by Alan Douches of West West Side. J.J. Hrubovcak has been added as the band's bassist, alongside the devastating combo of Erik Rutan on guitar and Jade Simonetto on drums.

Commented Rutan: "Phoenix Amongst the Ashes is an album that we as a band worked so very hard on to achieve a record of mammoth dynamic proportions. Jade, J.J and I gave everything we had to make a death metal record that would incorporate a balance of speed, heaviness, melody, and pure power. Every song we labored over to have stand out with originality, individuality and unique creativity. We feel we accomplished everything we set out to do with this album and are very proud of the results; we hope you all will agree."

The first single off of Phoenix Amongst the Ashes - Haunting Abound - can now be heard on the band’s landing page HERE. Erik Rutan comments on the first single: "Haunting Abound is a song that we feel carries the intensity and the vibe of traditional HATE ETERNAL, yet explores new territory with a certain heaviness that has never been presented before in a HATE ETERNAL song. Infusing more dynamics and expanding our sound whilst retaining the integrity and ferocity that fans expect from us. This is only a small taste of things to come upon listening to Phoenix Amongst The Ashes."

Also available on the landing page are pre-order packages that include the CD and a CD/T-shirt package.

HATE ETERNAL return to European shores this week in support of their new album Phoenix Amongst The Ashes. The tour kicks off April 29th in Würzburg, Germany and will run through May 21st ending in Essen, Germany.

The band recently entered frontman Erik Rutan's own Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, FL to begin recording their fifth studio album.

J.J. Hrubovcak has been added as the band's bassist, alongside the devastating combo of Erik Rutan on guitar and Jade Simonetto on drums.

Commented Rutan: "The band has been locked up in Mana Recording Studios doing pre-production for the past two months, finishing up songs that we have been writing over the last year in between tours and albums that I've produced, and we feel we have come up with one of HATE ETERNAL's heaviest, most twisted, evil, melodic, and insane albums yet.

"It was my goal to expand upon what the band has done in the past, and add new dynamics and twists to the traditional, dissonant HATE ETERNAL style, yet keep it in the same vein. It took the three of us really pushing ourselves, and digging deep into the essence of who we are as musicians and writers and players to create something very unique and special. We cannot wait for everyone to hear what we have in store."

HATE ETERNAL's new album is slated for release in the spring on Metal Blade Records.
