DEW-SCENTED announce more festival appearances for this summer! Busy writing new album!
German Thrashers DEW-SCENTED have a bunch of good news to spread including more festival appearances.
”Hey Thrashers! The summer season and all its festival madness is getting started over here now, so we thought it would be good timing to check in with some short news.
Things are still rather quiet on the DEW-SCENTED front and that has to do with us working on new song material in the background. The first ideas for the next album are being written as I type this, so hopefully it will be a good flow and entertaining creative process in the coming months!
Nevertheless, we have recently confirmed two more summer festival shows, making it a total of 4 live shows coming up for 2011. Make sure to catch/meet us at

Additionally, we would like to inform you that the new issue of Germany’s leading alternative rock magazine Visions (http://www.visions.de) doesn’t only come with a “Big 4” cover-story, but it also includes a promotional compilation CD dubbed “Metal Massacre 2011”, featuring the new breed of current Thrash Metal bands like Legion Of The Damned, Warbringer, Municipal Waste, Evile or also Suicidal Angels. DEW-SCENTED are featured on there as well with the Slayer cover-version of “War Ensemble”. We originally recorded this about 10 years ago as Japanese bonus track for the “Inwards” album release and are obviously happy to have been selected for such cool tribute release and for a new audience! DEW-SCENTED tour recap! New festival dates announced!
German Thrashers DEW-SCENTED have posted the following update:
"DEW-SCENTED have returned home from a loooooong but also very successful European tour supporting Nile! 19 countries, thousands of KM’s to travel, many new experiences made along the way and almost a "hometown" show as last date in Hannover / Germany made an ending with style! We would like to thank our bus comrades of Zonaria and Darkrise for the good time as well as Melechesh and the almighty Nile for the intense weeks we managed to spend together on the road! Also
big thanks to the amazing Massive crew, our tour-soundtech Murph as well as the busdrivers (Rudi & Maren) and merchandisers (Darek & Rob) for the good atmosphere during these last weeks! Special thanks to all old friends we met and to all new friends we made on this tour as well as to all the people that came out to enjoy & support all the five bands at the shows!!! DEW-SCENTED 'Arise From Decay' videoclip released! Tour guitarist announced! European tour as support of Nile to start this week!
Arise From Decay, the new video from German thrashers DEW-SCENTED, can be viewed at THIS location!
The song comes off the band's latest album, Invocation, which was released on May 24, 2010 in Europe via Metal Blade Records.
Commented DEW-SCENTED vocalist Leif Jensen: "While we spent a good amount of time on the European roads in 2010 promoting the release of 'Invocation', we figured it would be a good idea to collect live footage and have some of it presented to our global supporters. We chose the album's opening, 'Arise From Decay', for the clip as this track has become an important and very energetic piece of our current live set."
DEW-SCENTED has recruited Michael "Michi" Hankel (EROSION, HOLY MOSES) to play rhythm guitar on its upcoming European tour with NILE.
Commented the band: "We have known Michi for several years now and are certain he will complement the band in a great way for the coming shows!"
Added Michi: "I am proud to let you know that I am joining DEW-SCENTED for their upcoming European tour. I have liked these guys and their material since many years and in my opinion DEW-SCENTED are a real challenge for all thrash metallers. "Hey Thrashers!
Hope you have had some sweet and relaxing holidays, we surely did! Our last show for 2010 at Leer’s Winter Metal Meeting some days ago went down smoothly, so thanks to everyone who came out to see us on that incredibly cold evening! Sadly, that show also marked the last gig for our rhythm guitarist Martin Walczak with DEW-SCENTED.
Some while ago, Martin decided to leave the band due to changes in his personal life and lack of availability to move forwards with music at this stage. It’s a shame to see him go but we certainly wish Martin all the very best with his next goals and tasks in life! Thanks for the good times, Mattin!
We already have a friend of the band lined up as session guitarist for the European tour with Nile starting out late January, so no reason to be worried at all and we will give you more details about this in the coming days! Busy times for German premium Thrashers DEW-SCENTED! After their headline run through Italy in October and the German support shows for Heaven Shall Burn and their label mates AS I LAY DYING in November, the boys will embark on a full European tour early 2011 in support of Nile!
Comments singer Leif Jensen: "We can now finally and proudly announce a full European tour for DEW-SCENTED in January / February of 2011 as support act for Nile! The run dubbed "Those Whom The Gods Detest Tour 2011 Part 2" will last for about 4 weeks, covering central European countries as well as some Eastern territories (some of which we in fact never ever before visited!) and also UK/Ireland at last again. The tour's line-up will also feature Melechesh, Zonaria and Darkrise next to DEW-SCENTED and headliners Nile (who we last succesfully toured with in 2003), making it a very colourful and interesting package for all followers of extreme Metal.

Good news for all Thrashing maniacs! German premium Thrashers DEW-SCENTED have been confirmed for all German dates of the upcoming AS I LAY DYING tour. Other bands on the bill include Heaven Shall Burn and Suicide Silence.
Update from DEW-SCENTED: "With this year's Summer festival madness soon to be completed, we wanted to briefly check in with some update on how things are going…
Actually we had a great time at the Eisenwahn and Baden In Blut festivals at the end of July and especially the recent show at Wacken Open Air 2010 was a really memorable one. We played Wacken with DEW-SCENTED for the third time and it was probably our best so far! Despite the early stage-time, it was awesome to see so many people coming over to check us out and it especially ruled that it was such an international crowd! It was awesome to be part of such a large and well organized festival and we look forward to doing it again one day!
The good news of the day is that we just got confirmation for DEW-SCENTED to have been added to the upcoming tour of Heaven Shall Burn, As I Lay Dying and Suicide Silence for the German shows in November. This will be quite a big tour and a really heavy package, so we are definitely looking forward to adding our slab of Thrash Metal into the mix and to make some new friends out there on the road. Hellfest in France was killer! Very well organized and great atmosphere, so that the long and exhausting trip was totally worth it! We met loads of other cool bands and had a sweet show ourselves, even though it was early on! We can't wait to come back to France!

Invocation is DEW-SCENTED's first album for Metal Blade and was recorded and mixed at Soundlodge Studio in Northern Germany with producer Jörg Uken (God Dethroned, Sinister etc.).
Meanwhile DEW-SCENTED have posted an update on new shows and recap the past few, quite prestigious gigs.

DEW-SCENTED are back home again after some cool shows in these last weekends, so let us give you a small re-cap.
Playing with Bolt Thrower is totally awesome! Great band, great crew, great crowds! We are enjoying every minute of it and look forward to seeing them again this coming Sunday in Luxembourg for a final gig! Truly an outstanding, inspiring band on all levels and a pleasure to finally be able to share stages with them! Thanks for having us!!!
Additionally, it was great to team up with Rotting Christ and Asphyx as well! The Neurotic Deathfest (sold out!) was an awesome day with a killer line-up and tons of buddies from other bands hanging around having a good time! It was cool to see our show turning out to be pretty intense and well attended even though we were worried not to be "brutal death" enough at first. And it was of course great to return to France (Paris and Lyon) and see so many familiar faces there too! We will come back soon…
Oh yeah, and along the way we also supported Heathen (together with our friends in Contradiction) at Essen's great Turock venue! The place was packed with Thrashers, old and young, making it an amazing set for everyone! Would have been cool to play some more shows with Heathen, well, maybe next time!?
In other live-news, we regretfully have to announce that Atheist changed plans in their summer schedule and were forced to pull their whole European visit. Therefor we will unfortunately no longer be playing the previously announced June shows in London (UK), Cologne (D) and Groningen (NL). Too bad! Additionally, the local promoter of the show with Destinity in Colmar (France) on May 14th has also decided to cancel the gig. Sucks ;-(
Please however take notice that DEW-SCENTED are still ON to play Hellfest in France on Saturday, June 19th as a one-off (we play as early as 10:30 AM opening the main stages!), so hope to see some of you there!!! We will provide a heavy awakening, that's for sure!
In better news, we have recently added some really cool new festival dates to our summer schedule: Caos Emergente in Portugal on July 16th and then the German festivals Bang Your Head!!! on July 17th, Baden In Blut on July 31st (therefore we flipped the day of Eisenwahn Festival to Friday July 30th now!) and the Turock Open Air (free show!) on September 10th. German Thrash Metallers DEW-SCENTED have posted the first new song of their upcoming new album Invocation, to be released May, 21st/24th 2010 in Europe via Metal Blade Records, on MySpace. Please click on the bands MySpace (HERE) to check out the album opener Arise From Decay!
Vocalist Leif Jensen comments: "We are happy to finally be able to debut a new song for all of you to hear! "Arise From Decay" is the new album's opening track (after the instrumental intro piece "Downfall") and a really good representation of not only what the album is all about, but also of what DEW-SCENTED sound like in 2010. "Arise From Decay" combines many of the band's 'trademark' elements into a straight forward and pretty vicious song. This song was actually one of the first fully finalized tracks when we started writing the "Invocation" album with the band's new line-up and we have already been playing it live for a while now with great response. German Thrash Metallers DEW-SCENTED have finished recording and mixing their new album Invocation at Soundlodge Studio in Northern Germany with producer Jörg Uken (God Dethroned, Sinister, etc.).
Vocalist Leif Jensen checks in with the following comment: “It is done! After long weeks of intense work, we are finished tracking and mixing this new album…What a great feeling! The new song-material is totally fresh and energetic to us and I hope all you Thrash maniacs will dig it as much as we do! Despite the band’s line up changes, we are pretty much staying true to our traditional stylistic formula and tried to combine the best of our 80’s Thrash Metal roots with the punch of a modern production and an utterly aggressive performance! DEW-SCENTED finishing recordings for "Invocation"! Shows in Portugal announced for late March! Confirming more European festival dates for the summer!
Here's a brief update from DEW-SCENTED about their new album Invocation and some more shows in Portugal and summer festivals!
"Hell-o! So we are almost finished with the sessions for the new DEW-SCENTED studio album "Invocation".
What a heavy month! Not sure if we mentioned this before, but we actually did the old-school thing and entered a recording studio from start to finish of the session, so we have actually spent all of February working our asses off to record a total of 15 songs and some intro stuff at Soundlodge Studios with producer Jörg Uken and things went just great so far!
We recorded a ton of guitars and here you can see Michael and Martin tracking some of their parts:
We will have some more photo material as well as video clips from the studio available here soon"!
In the meantime, we are happy to announce DEW-SCENTED's return to Portugal for two shows at the end of March!

DEW-SCENTED in the studio recording! New album title revealed! Confirmed for Hellfest 2010!
German Thrashers DEW-SCENTED are finally in the studio recording their new album! Here´s an update from singer Leif Jensen:
“After some last preparations in our rehearsal room this past weekend, we started tracking drums at Soundlodge Studios with Jörg Uken on Monday. It’s fucking freezing outside, but in terms of drumming things are going great so far and Marc-Andrée is on fire!
The material for this new album is INTENSE and the drumming pretty demanding, so it’s gonna be fun working some more on this one…”
Leif also reveals Invocation as the album title for this forthcoming longplayer to be released in May.
“By the way, we can now reveal as well that the new album will be entitled „Invocation“. Our buddie and longterm partner in all visual matters Björn at killustrations.com has already prepared some killer artwork concept as well! We are super stoked with the results!”
In other news, DEW-SCENTED have been confirmed to return to France’s awesome Hellfest Open Air this year!

DEW-SCENTED sign with Metal Blade Records in Europe! Entering studio in February!
German Thrash Metallers DEW-SCENTED have signed a European deal with Metal Blade Records for the release of their upcoming, still untitled new studio album.
The band comments the signing as follows: "We are happy to finally be able to announce that we have just signed a new deal with Metal Blade for Europe! We have known the European staff at Metal Blade for many years already and considering the label’s massive history in Metal as well as the fact that their current repertoire includes several cool bands that we have toured with throughout the years like Amon Amarth, Cannibal Corpse or God Dethroned, we look forward to this new co-operation and are excited about the release of our next album, which we will be recorded in the coming weeks.“
Andreas Reissnauer of Metal Blade Europe adds: “DEW-SCENTED is a driving force in European Thrash Metal. A band that delivered excellent records through the years and that is always giving 110 % on stage. Being fans and friends of the band since day one we are excited to finally be able to work with DEW-SCENTED in the future. The best is yet to come!”
DEW-SCENTED are entering Soundlodge Studios in Northern Germany in February with producer Jörg Uken (God Dethroned, Sinister, etc.), who has previously engineered the band’s latest album Incinerate in 2007, to record their long-awaited new studio album. A release date is planned for May 2010.
