CHARRED WALLS OF THE DAMNED debut 'Zerospan' video on BloodyDisgusting.com!
Richard Christy of CHARRED WALLS OF THE DAMNED has been hinting at a new video since November 2011, when the trailer was released. Zerospan was directed and edited by Mike Schiff (Charred Wall's previous 'Ghost Town' video) and Sean McEwen (Albino Farm) with special effects/make up by Brian Spears and Pete Gerner from G and S Effects (Stakeland). The lead actor in the video is Bryan Haeffele.
Richard Christy elaborates on the video's concept: "I'm so excited that fans will finally be able to see the "Zerospan" video after many months of hard work! For fans of horror like myself, this video is the perfect mix of technological horror and all out brutality. The "Zerospan" video is like a mini horror film and the story follows the lyrical subject matter perfectly and creates a haunting vision of a man absorbed by the world's ever growing technology. What it comes down to, though, is that it's pretty much just a kick ass heavy metal video! Big thanks to Mike, Sean, Brian, Pete, Bryan, Metal Blade, and everyone who helped make this video awesome!"

Richard Christy, Tim "Ripper" Owens, Jason Suecof and Steve DiGiorgio once again joined forces to bring to life Christy's latest body of work, Cold Winds on Timeless Days. The writing process for the new album actually began while the band was mixing their 2010 debut. Richard Christy used his experience on the first album to write songs that catered not only to each member's playing style, but to Jason Suecof's production style. The result: demos that turned out nearly identical to what ended up on the album.
With 12 songs clocking in at 58 minutes, fans are getting a lot more music this time around. Recording twelve songs in a short amount of time is no easy feat, but one that was accomplished because of the stellar talents in the band. Christy elaborates further; "I wanted to get a natural sound out of this album, I wanted everyone to be well rehearsed, not that I wanted the album to be rushed, but I wanted the spontaneous live feel and not over think anything too much." Richard Christy describes Cold Winds on Timeless Days as a "perfect storm of producing" – Audiohammer's Jason Suecof produced and Mark Lewis mixed, while mastering was handled by Alan Douches at West Westside.

In other news Richard Christy has partnered up with Modern Drummer Magazine to premiere his studio performance video for the song Admire The Heroes. Richard filmed his drum takes while recording Cold Winds On Timeless Days at the Hit Factory Criteria in Miami, FL earlier this year. Those takes from two different cameras were edited into the video you can see on ModernDrummer.com HERE. Christy's approach to this record was that he wanted a more organic and spontaneous sounding album. Amazingly, drums were recorded in a mere two days and the video is evidence to his ability to record the songs in an entire, contiguous take.

All of the lyrics on the album were written by Richard Christy and Ghost Town in particular is a dark description of a near abandoned and "creepy" town that Richard grew up near in northeastern Oklahoma.
Richard comments further on the video; "I'm really psyched for everyone to see the Ghost Town video! The director Mike Schiff worked so hard filming and editing the video and it definitely shows! The video looks amazing and I'm really proud to present it to the fans! It's a perfect companion piece to a song that I'm also extremely proud of!"

Richard Christy, former drummer for Death and Iced Earth, comedian, and radio personality on the legendary Howard Stern Show on Sirius-XM Satellite Radio, on drums. Famed producer Jason Suecof who has produced and/or mixed some of the most prominent albums from metal's leading bands, including: Trivium, All That Remains, The Black Dahlia Murder, Chimaira, DevilDriver and many, many more, on guitars. Tim "Ripper" Owens, who fronted heavy metal legends Judas Priest from 1996 to 2002, performed alongside Richard in Iced Earth from 2003 to 2004, and currently performs with Beyond Fear and Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force, on vocals. And one of metal's most heralded bassists, Steve Digiorgio, who played alongside Richard in the bands Control Denied and Iced Earth, and has also performed with Death, Autopsy, Testament, Vintersorg, and is a founding member of technical thrash pioneers Sadus.

As CHARRED WALLS OF THE DAMNED prepare for their self-titled debut album out January, 29th / February 1st in 2010 – the group is gearing up for their official release by unleashing a “radio spot” created by Richard Christy himself. The “radio spot” that is now being streamed via the band's MySpace page features clips of the first single Ghost Town (available now on iTunes), taken from the band's debut album, Charred Walls of the Damned.
"I am beyond excited about how the Charred Walls of the Damned album turned out. Tim, Steve and Jason all did an amazing job and I can't wait for people to hear it! The songs are super heavy and melodic at the same time, and I think my fellow Metalheads will be pumped when they hear the album" comments drummer and founding member Richard Christy.

CHARRED WALLS OF THE DAMNED recorded a cover of the song Nice Dreams by the Minneapolis metal band POWERMAD as a bonus track for the Japanese release of the band's debut album. US fans will have the chance to buy this track as well, as Nice Dreams will be made available on iTunes the day the album is released in the states, February 2nd 2010.
"I've been a huge fan of Powermad's classic 1989 album ‘Absolute Power' since it came out. I wanted to do a cover song that I loved and at the same time, one that a lot of people probably have not heard. ‘Absolute Power' has been out of print for some time now so I'm sure the song Nice Dreams will be new to a lot of people, but will also bring back some great memories for metalheads like me who love the song and who love Powermad" explains Christy.
