BOLT THROWER
"Those Once Loyal"

BOLT THROWER - "Pay No More than £5.99!" Boltfest fees will go to charity!
BOLT THROWER have announced that all money from their upcoming Boltfest anniversary show at The Forum, London on April 7th will go to charity.

"Obviously you can't charge people to come to your own birthday party, so as soon as we came up with the idea for Boltfest, we decided we should pay all the costs for the event ourselves. We also wanted to use Boltfest as an opportunity to do some good, and turn it into something more than just another show. So we've decided to ask everyone to donate £5.99 to charity if they want to come to the party. This way, with your help, we hope Boltfest will raise £10,000 for a good cause!

The charity we've chosen is Teenage Cancer Trust* http://www.teenagecancertrust.org/. We're sadly among the millions whose lives have been affected by this devastating illness, and have seen first-hand the work charities like Teenage Cancer Trust do, and the difference it makes in those difficult times, so we're very happy to be able to support this deserving charity.

Tickets are limited to 1800 and can be bought at the HMV Ticket shop:
http://www.hmvtickets.com

There'll be no service charge, as the HMV Ticket Shop has generously waived these extra costs for this special show. This way ALL the proceeds from the event (minus obligatory 3% PRS) will go to TCT".

*Teenage Cancer Trust is a registered charity, no. 1062559 (England & Wales) and SCO39757 (Scotland).

BOLT THROWER comments on their 25th Anniversary: "Anniversaries are kind of easy to achieve. For a band, just don't split up and you'll reach one, whether it's 10, 20 or 35 years. And this year we've reached '25 years of not splitting up'!

We managed to stop others from making a big fuss about it, and didn't give in to the numerous offers and suggestions on how we should cash in on it! But it has made us appreciate the opportunities we've been given since 1986, and that we've been able to do everything we wanted to do without compromising in any way. We've been lucky enough to have played a lot of killer shows with great bands and met a lot of very cool people over the years, and we think that's the stuff that deserves some kind of celebration.

So, we want to organize a Bolty Birthday Bash, where we can reunite with some of these bands and invite you, the people who have supported us over the last 25 years. We were hoping to have everything worked out by now, but it turns out organizing a free show comes with its own unique problems, but we'll get there in the end! Well, that's all we can say for now, there will be more news to come soon, so keep checking back."

BOLT THROWER announce support bands for European tour 2010!
British war machine BOLT THROWER has announced the support bands for their 2010 European tour.

“Support on the whole tour comes from the mighty Greek veterans, Rotting Christ! And to mix the package up a bit for everyone, there will be different additional bands playing each night, and so far we’ve asked Benediction, Asphyx and Dew Scented to play a few shows each. And as usual, there will also be local/unsigned bands on the bill. More bands/details will be announced soon.”

BOLT THROWER has always had a special bond with the Atak Club in Enschede / Holland. The small 300 capacity club was one of the first to start booking extreme bands in the late 80’s.

”It was famous for it’s out of control moshpits, stagedivers jumping off the balcony and crowd surfing wheelchairs! It’s the only club Bolt Thrower have played on every tour in the last 20 years, 11 times in total, a true cult club and a real home from home for us. Sadly in 2008, after being battered beyond repair over the years, the old lady had to close. Atak gave Bolt Thrower the honour to play the last show ever there, which we celebrated with 300 guests as a special free show.

In 2009 Atak moved to a new building and now we would like to celebrate our first show in the new Atak with another special free show. After talking to the guys from Atak and our favourite beer brewery Grolsch, who are also from Enschede, we came up with the following:

The show will be on April 29th, and Asphyx, Rotting Christ and Dew-Scented will be joining us on stage. But, to stop people just ordering tickets and then not turning up, we will be asking for a 5 Euro “deposit”. Then at the show you will get a special “No Grolsch, No Glory” Bolt Thrower T-Shirt and a Flip Top bottle of Grolsch beer!

The new Atak is capped at 800 people, so if you want to help celebrate a new chapter in the Bolt Thrower / Atak history, you’d better hurry up and get your tickets soon!”

BOLT THROWER reveal info regarding the Enschede Atak show on 7th August!
[10/07/08] ”This will be a special free show to say farewell to the old Atak club, the only club we have played on every tour in the last 18 years.

We would like to celebrate this special night with people who have seen us play there over the years and have some of the same fond memories that we have of the crazy shows in Atak, like people stage diving from the balcony and crowd surfing wheelchairs!

So if you want to join us saying goodbye to this old cult club, this how you can get your tickets: For those of you who don't live locally but would like to come to the show, you can get your ticket by sending an email to tickets@boltthrower.com

If you live near Enschede you can get tickets from Atak: boltthrower@atak.nl

Please mail your name, email address and a short message about your connection to Bolt Thrower and Atak over the years. (No attachments please!)

There are only 275 tickets for this show, and it's first come first served.

See you in Atak!”

Cheers,
Bolt Thrower

BOLT THROWER confirmed for Party.San festival, in writing mode!
[15/01/08] First of all, BOLT THROWER would like to wish their crew, friends, followers and supporters all the best for 2008!

If you're wondering why there hasn't been a lot of BT news for a while, that's because we are still in writing mode for the new album, which we plan to record in the summer. And during the break between the recording and mixing of the album, we will play our only festival of the year.

So, we're very happy to announce that the festival we have chosen to play this summer is the Party.San Open Air in Bad Berka, Germany on 7-9th August. Tickets are only 39.60 Euros, including parking and camping, and the festival is capped at only 10,000 visitors, so considering this and the already killer line-up, it looks like it will sell out in advance. So, we suggest that people who want to buy tickets on the day, should check the availability before they set off, to avoid the disappointment a lot of people had at last year's sold-out Summer Breeze Festival, where they got turned away.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Cheers,
Bolt Thrower

BOLT THROWER to play Wacken?
[09/11/07] As most of you probably know, BOLT THROWER don't like to play festivals, but as a lot of you want to see us playing festivals, we try and play at least one festival a year. After receiving numerous offers, we now have to choose which festival to play next Summer, and would like you to help us decide. As BT are not financially driven, the fee is pretty irrelevant, as is whether we play to 1000 people or 100,000. Our main requirement would be to have our usual merchandise / meet and greet booth, with no price restrictions.

Wacken Open Air festival have asked us again to play next Summer, and the date would fit in with the gap in our planned recording and mixing schedule for next year. A lot of you have asked us to play Wacken over the years, and a lot of you have advised us not to play it, for various reasons.

So now, we would like you to help us decide by taking part in the following poll.

Poll: Would you like to see Bolt Thrower play the Wacken Open Air Festival?

We'd really like to hear your opinions, so please vote...

Cheers,
Karl, Jo, Baz, Gav & Kiddie
