AMON AMARTH have come to an end!
Swedish Viking Death Metal Gods AMON AMARTH have come to an end of their touring cycle for their last album 'Twilight Of The Thunder God'. Read the update from the band.
"We have come to an end. After almost two years of touring we have now reached the twilight of the thunder god. Ruisrock in Turku, Finland officially marked the very last show in support for our latest album. We're still doing a few selected off shows though. We'll be making our very first appearance in Japan at Loud Park Festival in October. And early next year we'll be performing on the high seas at 70,000 Tons of Metal.
We've had an amazing time on the road supporting this album. Got to tour with many great bands and met loads of awesome people. There have been highs and lows. Highlights include our first tour in South America, performing in Beijing, Taiwan and India, and fulfilled a long time dream by sharing the stage with the almighty Slayer.
We want to thank our loyal friends and fans for the support. Thanks to our crew who has been putting up with us for so long. Thanks to our management and label for covering our backs and everyone else who have been involved in some way, big or small, in bringing us to the far reaches of the world.
We've taken the first steps towards the new album but there is much to do. We'll try to keep you updated on the things going on in the Amon camp as we lock ourselves away to write this new album. Stay tuned."

AMON AMARTH will release Versus The World as the fourth and last album in this years re-issue series November, 6/9 all over Europe!
The re-issue comes in a lavish Double-digipak with an individual three-dimensional fold-out pop-up. All four digipak reissues add up to one big picture when put together. CD 1 includes the remastered Versus The World album. CD 2 bears the same tracklist as CD 1, recorded live at the band's December 31, 2008 show as part of the ‘Bloodshed over Bochum’ concert series. Add to this a 16-page booklet with interesting liner notes.

AMON AMARTH to embark on a Scandinavian and UK tour this Friday!
Mighty Viking Death Metal Kings AMON AMARTH will embark on a Scandinavian tour this week Friday. The tour will kick off in Helsinki, Finland and is going to end in their hometown Stockholm, Sweden on the 17th of October.
Only four days off the road, AMON AMARTH will head over to Great Britain and Ireland for another ten shows. Support on both tours comes from Entombed and Evile!

AMON AMARTH pick up Metal Hammer 'Golden Gods' award!
[18/06/09] AMON AMARTH appeared at Metal Hammer’s Golden Gods 2009 awards this week at the 02 in London, playing a blistering 15 minute set alongside Saxon, Trivium, DevilDriver and Anvil.
Soon afterwards they walked away with an award for BEST BREAKTHROUGH ACT. Made all the more sweeter as this Golden God is one of the awards voted for by fans and readers of Metal Hammer UK.
Here's what AMON AMARTH themselves have to say: "This came as a total surprise to us! We are honored that we have such a strong support base and we’d like to thank all you metal heads that voted for us. [20/05/09] After the successful re-issue of the AMON AMARTH debut album 'Once Sent From The Golden Hall' it's time to release the second re-issue of the year. The second album in the discography of AMON AMARTH is 'The Avenger', and the 2-disc-deluxe re-issue is set for release in Europe on May 22/25!
'The Avenger' will be released again as a double-popup-digipak featuring two discs. Disc one features the entire 'The Avenger' album remastered plus the bonus track 'Thor Arise'!
Disc two features the live recording of the show AMON AMARTH played on December 29, 2008 in Bochum, Germany where they played the album in its entirety. The order of songs is the same as on disc one (excluding 'Thor Arise'). This reissue will be released as an eight-sided double-digipak with an individual pop-up. All four pop-ups attached to each other show a special three-dimensional pic. The reissue also features liner notes by singer Johan Hegg.
