AEON to embark on European tour in April 2011!
Satanic Swedish death metallers AEON will embark on a small European tour in April 2011. First off the band will play a bunch of shows in the United Kingdom before they end the tour at the mighty Neurotic Deathfest in Tilburg, Netherlands!

AEON recruits new drummer!
Swedish satanic Death Metallers AEON have recruited a new drummer and to all our surprise it´s a person very familiar with the history of the band.
"As you all may know, we have been searching for a new drummer since early September this year. We have gotten a great deal of applicants from various countries. Some of them where really awesome drummers to say the least. We would like to take the opportunity to thank every single one of you for showing interest and sending us drum-videos of you playing our songs etc. Thank you so much and good luck with your future endeavors.
Without really thinking about it, the best solution for us was lurking around the corner. Arttu Malkki, our first original drummer (1999-2002) has during the last year been showing interest in playing faster death-metal once more. After his departure from Aeon back in 2002, Arttu has mainly been playing in heavier / slower metal bands.
A couple of weeks ago, we saw him perform a show with our buddies Sanctification and we where really, really impressed with Arttu's "fast-drumming" comeback. Later on, Arttu asked us if we wanted to jam a couple of songs with him just to see what it would feel like. So we did, and it sounded massive! We decided to give it another shot, and once again we played songs like Living sin, Soulburner, God Gives head, Hel-el Ben Shachar, Spreading their disease among others and this hard-hitting drum-monster makes us sound really massive. Both we and Arttu felt that this was just so right and we decided to once again be bandmates.
Besides the obvious fact that Arttu is a killer drummer, he is also an original, founding member of the band and goes way back with Tommy and Zeb from the pre-Aeon era in "Defaced Creation". Another detail that made Arttu our final choice is that he lives in the same city as we do, and this is a major plus. Now we can take on every single gig / tour we want to. This without having a drummer in another city or country even, that we need to fly over etc.
I remember when he first left us back in 2002 and Nils replaced him, the one thing that i missed about Arttu the most was his hard hitting and brutal drum-sound. Even if Nils is a more technical drummer, Arttu has some other qualities that suited us really well in its own way. Needless to say, they are both amazing drummers. So we will now be spending the next couple of months rehearsing songs / setlists and after that, we will take on shows & eventually some tours if the right offers lands on the table. We are all truly exited about being a complete band once again and being able to make things really happened has never felt more possible than now.
With that being said, lets raise the horns high and welcome Arttu Malkki back to Aeon."

AEON searching for new drummer!
Swedish satanic Death Metallers AEON are looking for a new drummer! If you have the guts and skills make sure to submit! Read the statement from AEON below for details on the vacant spot and why Nils has left the band.
"Our drummer, Nils Fjellström has decided to leave the band on a very short notice. The reason for this is personal / private and Nils has chosen not to speak his mind out to the public about this. We will respect his wish not to do so, and therefore we will not reveal any details nor answering questions about this. As you may know, this is not the first time Nils is out of the band, but it's most certain the last. How strange this even may sound, I really think that we will be better off without him in the long run. We need a drummer who we can rely on at all times, someone who can be there for us when opportunities show up etc. To take this band any further, we need a line-up where everyone has the same visions and goals.
At least this time around, there where no big tours planned like the last time Nils bailed out on us. We only had one show planned ahead that was scheduled to take place october 16. We kindly asked Nils to do at least this show with us before he left, but he simply didn't agree to do so. This leaves us with no choice but to cancel our spot in this event. There is just too little time to rehearse a full headline set with a new session-drummer. Perhaps the promoter (Hårdrocksklubben) will find a new headliner for this evening or it will get cancelled. Keep your eyes open on Hårdrocksklubben's (www.hardrocksklubben.se) website for further information about this event.
We will now be focusing on finding a worthy replacement for Nils and until we do, we will try to fill the spot temporarily with session-drummers.

If you are a drummer and think that you have what it takes to replace Nils in Aeon don't hesitate to send us an application with some audio / video of you playing drums to: aeon_666@hotmail.com mark the subject with "Drummer application". You don't really need to be able to play exactly every little detail Nils is doing on the albums. The most important is that you are able to play the basics in the songs and the rest can be worked out from there. Naturally, we would prefer a drummer who lives in Sweden, but we are also open for distant / foreigner drummers as far as Europe goes, at least."

AEON recorded Path Of Fire in Sweden while it was mixed by multi-talent Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal) at Mana Studio in Florida. Mastering was done by Alan Douches at West West Side Music.
Path Of Fire is probably the most intense AEON album to date. And with a production that is more organic and "classic death metal" sounding rather then the nowadays typical "super modern, compressed-right-the-fuck-out-of-dynamics, loudness war" production, you are all in for a real treat. Folks, this IS death metal!

Comments guitarist Zeb Nilsson the song: "This is kind of funny, cause I actually dreamt that we were performing this song live and it sounded so cool that I had to start working on it the day after I had the dream. Of course all the details in it were not in my dream, but the whole concept and idea behind how it was gonna sound was all very realistic. This is a very fast song and it is easy to catch I think. It has some really heavy parts too, and the leads on it ended up really cool too. I think this song will be a good first sample of this album!"

AEON reveal track listing and cover artwork for new album "Path Of Fire"! Video teaser available!
Satanic Death Metallers AEON from Sweden have revealed the tracklisting and front art for their new album Path Of Fire to be released May 21/24 via Metal Blade Records in Europe!
AEON recorded the album in Sweden while it was mixed by multi-talent Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal) at Mana Studio in Florida. Mastering was done by Alan Douches at West West Side Music.
Comments guitarist Zeb Nilsson: "We talked to Erik about this idea on the tour we did with HATE ETERNAL, and he really felt like doing it too, so here we are. Of course he did a great job, the guitars came out HUGE! And this production has more of a classical death metal feel to it, more organic and dynamic than most modern productions out there today. I couldn't be happier with the way it all came out."

AEON complete work on new album 'Path Of Fire'!
Swedish satanic Death Metallers AEON have completed the work on their new album Path Of Fire!
Path Of Fire was recorded at the Empire Studio in Östersund / Sweden in September 2009 and mixed at Mana Studio / St. Petersburg, Florida by Erik Rutan in October 2009. Some minor changes were made in January 2010. The mastering was done by Alan Douches for West West Side Music in New York. All artwork and layout made by Daniel Dlimi.
Comments the band: "We are happy to announce the album is finished by now. Path of Fire is probably the most intense Aeon album up to date. And with a production that sounds more organic and "classic deathmetal" rather then the nowadays typical "supermodern, compressed right-the-fuck-out of dynamics, loudness war" production…you are all in for a real treat. AEON part ways with Max Carlberg and recruit new bass player! In the studio recording new album!
“First of all we want to state that Max is a great bass player and a real nice person. Unfortunately, he couldn't handle the life on the road all that well. We noticed how he struggled through the last tour we did. He really loves the actual moment on stage, but everything else around that comes with the life on the road was just a great deal of pain for him. So both AEON and Max agreed that this way of life wasn't exactly made for him. Being on tour in a not so known death metal band like AEON often means really tough conditions and bad economy. We totally understand that not everyone can put up with this way of life. There are no hard feelings from any of the parts. We would like to thank Max for the time with the band and we wish him all the best with his future endeavors. Take care bro.”
”When one leaves, a new one has to come…and there is no difference in this case. Our new bass player is a great, well experienced musician who is really into death metal. We think that this guy is absolutely perfect for the spot. So let's rise the horns high and welcome our new bass player, Victor Brandt (TOTALT JÄVLA MÖRKER, former SATYRICON touring bassist) to AEON. We are looking forward to all the great death metal madness we got ahead of us with our new member.“
AEON are already in the studio recording for their third full-length album.
“1st of September, AEON once again entered the Empire Studio here in Ostersund/Sweden to record our third (yet untitled) upcoming album. As of today, we are about half way through the recording-process and it’s going exactly as planned. 10 new songs are being put on tape (hard drive) and we are pretty confident that all of you who liked our previous efforts or Death Metal in general will love this. When we are done tracking the songs, none other than Erik Rutan from HATE ETERNAL/ex-MORBID ANGEL at Mana Studios in Florida will be mixing the album. You may know his killer work from such bands as CANNIBAL CORPSE, NILE, VITAL REMAINS, GOATWHORE among others. We are absolutely confident that this death metal maniac will give us the mix/production we are looking for. Erik is a really great guy, an awesome studio engineer/producer, a killer musician and he really knows his death metal A/B’s. This will, without a doubt kick some serious ass.”
”A note on the recording, since we recently replaced our bass player, Daniel & Zeb are handling all the bass on this album. There wasn’t enough time for Victor to learn the songs and both studios where already booked. No worries though, both Daniel & Zeb can handle a bass so this is not a problem. Once the album is finished it will be released by Metal Blade Records. No release dates are set at this point.“

AEON seek new drummer!
[19/10/07] The whole process of completing the writing of "Rise to Dominate", as long with the booking of studio, the recording and the production of it was all planned by AEON and by Metal Blade to work out with their 25th anniversary tour in the US. "Rise to Dominate" was released in the US on the 4th of September, and the tour began on the 6th of September. That would have been a killer start!!!
But after Nils joined DARK FUNERAL, and elected to go on their tour, and to cancel AEONs important spot on the bill of the anniversary tour with CANNIBAL CORPSE among others, it looked to us and many others that he made a big statement how he was going to prior AEON further on.
Anyway he did tell us after a few days that he could not live with the idea of having someone else playing the drums with AEON (which had been the discussion over these days), and we thought it was true. He had a big idea how he would plan everything and how history would not repeat itself again with cancelled tours etc.
During this end of summer/beginning of autumn, we have gotten a lot of requests from promoters who want to book AEON for gigs. Some of them interfered with DARK FUNERAL shows which we do not blame anyone for. Those where already booked. For some other shows that did not interfere with DARK FUNERAL shows, we have tried to contact Nils with several phonecalls and e-mails over the last weeks without result. No tries from him to get back or anything.
And so two weeks ago, we sent him an e-mail telling him that this is NOT how things should be working. AEON is the main priority for the rest of us, and if he can not even get back and let us know if we can book a show, then it is useless for us to have him in the band. He makes AEON look unprofessional in what we are doing. We will not be a side project, only to be picked up whenever there is nothing else going on at the moment. We told him that we cannot wait anymore, and that we will start looking for a new drummer. We asked him to confirm to us when he had red the mail, but after two weeks....still not one word!
