PRIMORDIAL to embark on European Paganfest tour in March!
Ireland's PRIMORDIAL will be co-headlining the Paganfest tour 2012, which is kicking off in Oberhausen, Germany the 16th of March 2012!
PRIMORDIAL singer A.A. Nemtheanga comments: "Never say never right? So we announce our participation in next March's Paganfest festival tour across Central Europe. Anyone who has read any of my various ramblings and musings over the last year or two will know my feelings about the current state of club touring and the industry in general. It's an ugly business but we are definitely ugly enough and getting uglier every year so strangely enough the stars aligned and the dates fell into place for us. Anyone who knows anything about Primordial knows how hard it has become for us to commit to lengthy touring as the years go by. The window of opportunity represents possibly the only opportunity we will have to do a longer tour for 'Redemption' across Europe so as they say…needs must and better the devil you know. Never as I say say never.
Regardless of the fact that the general tone of this tour is a little different. It has a more pronounced mix of light and shade. We have our Icelandic brethren Solstafir taking part which I would have thought alongside ourselves should sweeten the deal for those who may feel the pagan/heathen festival tour holds nothing for them, Romanian shamans NeguraBunget also filling out the darker quotient of the tour. Heidevolk stand firm for proud old values and having taken part in Eluveitie's acoustic album personally my feeling on those guys and girls should be apparent! I support them and the cultural significance they represent. I'm not here to sound the rallying cry for a dying venture (i.e touring) or sound the death knell for Primordial club touring we are simply taking part, we have some interesting and new things planned and the tour has some light and shade, which may be difficult for some people to take but this is how it is. Of course some territories are missed and we apologize for this but this is a mixture of market forces and pragmatism and unfortunately nothing to do with us, we hope to fill in the blanks over time. Bottom line, Primordial is touring….this is the most important fact and you know what you are gonna get…blood sweat and fire so see you on the field…"

Guitarist Ade Mulgrew comments: "We are really looking forward to hitting the road around the UK with Alestorm on what should be a crazy couple of weeks. The Last Caress of Light was recorded at Foel Studios in Wales at the end of August 2010 with producer Chris Fielding. The result are eight tracks of dark, stormy, epic Celtic Metal with which mix the melancholy and atmosphere of Irish Folk with the epic might of heavy metal bands such as Warlord, Iron Maiden and Thin Lizzy. The album stands out from all else as a record of intense emotional power and honesty; holding the listener within a dark heavy metal storm and not letting go until the last chords have rung out.

Swedish Viking Metallers KING OF ASGARD about to record new album in March 2012!
Swedish Viking Metallers KING OF ASGARD made an astonishing impact on the scene with their debut album Fi'mbulvintr, released in 2010. After playing a bunch of festivals and club shows in 2010 and 2011, KING OF ASGARD are fully busy in writing the follow-up album!
The writing process is in its finishing stages even though there is more to be done and more to be polished. The recording will once again be held at the Sonic Train Studios with engineer Andy LaRocque.
Comments the band: "We're glad to get back there in early March and to get some new stuff on tape. This also being the first time recording with Lars on guitar. The material for this coming release is a natural step forward for KING OF ASGARD. It differs quite a lot though the foundation of our musical roots still are very present. A natural progression of the sounds on 'Fi'mbulvintr'! Song titles include 'Gap Of Ginnungs' and 'Plague-ridden Rebirth'!"
In other news KING OF ASGARD are confirmed for the Ragnarök Festival taking place April 13-14 in Lichtenfels, Germany.
KING OF ASGARD is:
Karl Beckman - vocals/guitars
Lars Tängmark - guitars
Jonas Albrektsson - bass
Karsten Larsson - drums

AUTUMN stream "Truth Be Told (Exhale)" on mxdwn.com!
'Cold Comfort' available worldwide now!
Today, online music destination mxdwn.com will be hosting the premiere of Truth Be Told (Exhale) from AUTUMN's new album, Cold Comfort. The song is the 8th track on the record and contains some of the albums most poignant and moving melodies. The track can be heard now HERE.
Terrorizer Magazine describes Cold Comfort as "Haunting, lush gothic metal the Netherlands that drips with melody." This is one that fans of Katatonia, The Gathering, etc. will not want to miss!
The title track, as well as the video for The Scarecrow, can be seen now at www.metalblade.com/autumn.
Cold Comfort is the band's fifth full-length effort and their third for Metal Blade Records. It offers a collection of striking songs blended into a diverse and yet surprisingly compact album, one that AUTUMN considers to be their most personal and meaningful to date.
AUTUMN needed not look far for a man to put at the helm with the right pioneering philosophy for the band to begin taking leaps: Erik-Jan Dodd, AUTUMN's live sound engineer since the My New Time era, envisioned a more vintage approach for Cold Comfort. An experiment the band was all too eager to embrace, explains guitarist Mats van der Valk. "If there's anyone who knows what we're all about and more importantly: what we could potentially be all about, it's E-J."
AUTUMN guitarist Mats van der Valk comments on the band's upcoming shows in Germany: "We're well pleased that we'll be setting foot on German soil again this February, bringing Cold Comfort to Berlin, Köln and Hamburg. We've grown fond of these cities during previous tours, have always been welcomed with heartfelt smiles by awesome audiences. We're very much looking forward to meeting up with fans and friends, old and new, as we hit the stage for the first German shows of the Cold Comfort campaign!"

GOATWHORE and HATE ETERNAL announce Feb-March tour
Label mates Goatwhore and Hate Eternal will be hitting the road on February 18th for a several week co-headlining tour. The supporting bands on the tour will be Fallujah and Cerebral Bore. The tour will take the bands from New Orleans to Brooklyn, with stops along the way in Hollywood, the Pacific Northwest and Canada. All tour dates can be seen now on the bands' facebook pages.
Phoenix Amongst the Ashes was released on May 10th and was hailed as "a relentless, intricate, and near-anthemic crowd-pleaser" by Revolver Magazine. Albert Mudrian of Decibel Magazine declared that Phoenix Amongst the Ashes is "the best death metal record I've heard in FOREVER!" while the folks over at Metal Sucks proclaim that "Phoenix Amongst the Ashes is the moment Erik Rutan's entire career has been leading towards -- it's heavy, it's catchy, and it's innovative. This is the best death metal album of 2011 so far, and other bands are going to have to work pretty hard to top it." Jade Simonetto's performance was complimented by the highly respected DRUM! Magazine: "Phoenix showcases a far more dynamic band. Guitar passages range from weedly to art-y to textured…juxtaposing break-neck verses with near-mid-tempo groove sections…Simonetto takes the gold for endurance." Needless to say, Phoenix Amongst the Ashes could very well be considered the best of the band's long and storied career.
Goatwhore is preparing to announce the details of their new effort. Goatwhore experienced a meteoric rise in 2010. Their song Apocalyptic Havoc appeared on the soundtracks for Splatterhouse and Saints Row: The Third, video game titles released for Xbox 360 and PS3, the video for the same song was used in an episode of Last Call with Carson Daly, they toured as part of Ozzfest 2010, and they also toured with Watain, The Black Dahlia Murder and more. Carving Out the Eyes of God, released at the tail end of 2009, was met with praise from fans and critics alike and hailed as one of the best metal albums of the year.
