AUSTRIAN DEATH MACHINE releases new track this Halloween!
AUSTRIAN DEATH MACHINE, the California group consisting of As I Lay Dying’s Tim Lambesis and famed action hero Ahhnold, has just released the band’s second single off of Double Brutal. The track ‘Who Told You, You Could Eat My Cookies’ was inspired by the Arnie movie Jingle All the Way and will go live on the AUSTRIAN DEATH MACHINE MySpace page this Halloween. "I was so excited people thought my vocals sounded like cookie monster that I jumped at the chance to write a song about COOKIES!" comments Tim.
Go HERE this Halloween to check out the track ‘Who Told You, You Could Eat My Cookies’
“the overall goofball energy is bench-press-worthy.” Revolver Magazine
“As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis' humorous obsession with the cinematic oeuvre of Arnold Schwarzenegger gets its most indulgent showcase to date on this two-CD set…the instrumental work on this album is uniformly terrific…” All Music Guide
“…its fun and entertaining as a thrash album and the skits are often humorous, especially with Josh Thompson’s more involved and often funny, spot on Arnold banter…" Teeth of the Devine.com
“Like the debut album, each song on the first disc of Double Brutal is based on one of many Arnold films, including timeless classics ‘Jingle All The Way’ and ‘Commando.’ The solos and breakdowns that dominated every track on Total Brutal appear on the sophomore album in grander fashion…The musicianship is strong and the lyrics have a witty bite” About.com
“The instrumental performances throughout are impeccable, the riffage in particular containing a nice blend of finger-breakingly intricate yet hook-laden riffage, bludgeoning breakdown-fodder and rampaging hardcore punk-esque power chord progressions” OneMetal.com
“Double Brutal is packed with more ‘juice’ than a professional athlete.” Pop Culture Madness.com
“Austrian Death Machine musically has become a larger reflection of modern thrash, crossover thrash, metalcore (they have a few breakdowns, though they’re not littered across the whole album) and even a little bit of death metal. Those guitar solos shred the fretboard to splinters!” Way Too Loud.com
“You know how I said that Total Brutal was the best thing ever to be created by mankind ever…I lied. Double Brutal is now truly the best thing ever created on this planet. Hail Crom!” some fan-guy
For those who haven’t already picked it up, fans can purchase Double Brutal HERE available as both a two disc Digipak and a digital download. This two-disc goliath features one disc of all new heavy tracks in the tradition of all of Ahhnold’s greatest cinematic moments and a second disc of cover songs including songs originally performed by METALLICA, MEGADETH, MISFITS, JUDAS PRIEST and more, with cover art once again being tackled by Ed Repka (MEGADETH, DEATH, NOFX, NUCLEAR ASSAULT, etc).
Double Brutal features shed-a-riffic performances by:
• BUZ MCGRATH (UNEARTH)
• ANDREW TAPLEY (THE HUMAN ABSTRACT)
• JAMES GERICKE (DEATH BY STEREO)
• MARK MACDONAL (MERCURY SWITCH)
• ROCKY GRAY (LIVING SACRIFICE)

ODERUS, BEEFCAKE AND BALSAC SERVE AS CELEBRITY JUDGES FOR THE 14th ANNUAL BURTON SNOWBOARD DOG-COSTUME CONTEST
2009 truly has been the year of GWAR. ODERUS URUNGUS has become the “Interplanetary Correspondent” for Fox News Red Eye, and now ODERUS URUNGUS is featured in the latest issue of SPIN Magazine.
The feature in the November 2009 issue of SPIN Magazine takes place at the Slave Pit in Antarctica and it is entitled “In My Room”. GWAR’s warty front-thing takes an exuberant amount of pride in showing off his room and all of his unique possessions, including his dead dog “Pookie” who has been with him since the beginning as his lover and his pet.
Speaking of pets and more specifically dogs, ODERUS URUNGUS, BEEFCAKE THE MIGHTY and BALSAC THE JAWS OF DEATH served as celebrity judges in the 14th Annual Burton Snowboard Pet Costume Contest yesterday in Burlington, VT.
Unphased by success, GWAR continues on their course as "the people's band". The Red Chord to film “Demoralizer” video on Halloween!
The Red Chord are once again teaming up with highly acclaimed video director, David Brodsky, for their new video. The Demoralizer video will be shot this weekend, on October 31st. Keep an eye out for this video to premiere in the following weeks. The band has previously worked with Dave Brodsky for the Dread Prevailed video, which can be seen on Metal Blade’s youtube channel HERE.
The Red Chord is currently on tour with label mates GWAR and Job For A Cowboy. Fed Through The Teeth Machine, the band’s latest cacophony of riffs, hit stores on October 27th.
What critics have said about Fed Through The Teeth Machine so far:
“The foursome’s fierce attack is as brutal as ever…what could well be a bunch of noise in the hands of lesser headbangers is intricate and engrossing on Teeth Machine, whether it’s the twisting tempo shifts of “Demoralizer” or the blazing twin guitar attacks on “Hymns and Crippled Anthems.” Revolver Magazine
Fed Through is angrier than a hornet’s nest, faster than Usain Bolt with diarrhea and weird as that guy talking to himself on the street corner, but still as smart as a college professor and groovier than the skin around grandma’s eyes.” Decibel Magazine
“The Red Chord don’t make background music. Like Pig Destroyer or Converge, The Red Chord’s music is novelistic and impressionistic; you probably won’t be able to fully wrap your head around what you’ve just heard after a single listen. Teeth requires your full attention. Guy Kozowyk remains one of modern metal’s great poets; his lyrics alone demand that you engage with the music.” MetalSucks.net
"After four albums, The Red Chord has hit their peak with Fed Through The Teeth Machine." about.com
“from a musical standpoint, this is as strong as the Red Chord has ever sounded.” Hellbound.ca
“Fed Through The Teeth Machine is a capable and well-executed grindcore record from a band that understands what the genre is all about.” CraveOnline.com

Lazarus A.D. thrash with Japanese fans at Loud Park
Wisconsin’s Lazarus A.D. recently returned from their first ever trip overseas to Japan’s Loud Park festival in Tokyo. Needless to say, the band had an amazing experience. They were the third band to play on the Big Rock stage on October 18th. The stage was headlined by Slayer and also featured Children Of Bodom, Hatebreed and Papa Roach among others. Lazarus A.D. sampled some foreign cuisine, was surprised by eager fans waiting at their hotel room door to sign autographs and take photos, and played to over 10,000 people. Multiple circle pits tore through the crowd as Jeff Paulick, Dan Gapen, Alex Lackner and Ryan Shutler played their music overseas for the first time.
Lead guitarist Dan Gapen checks in; “Loud Park was a blast! It was great sharing the stage with all those amazing bands. Not to mention having the chance to play in front of all the great people of Japan was a dream come true! We can’t wait to come back to Japan and get another chance to blow the roof off the mother*#$^er once again…”
Keep an eye on Lazarus A.D.’s myspace page for more Loudpark updates from the band. Photos and possibly even some behind the scenes digital camera video footage is yet to be posted.
Just after the Thanksgiving holiday, Lazarus A.D. will be saddling up in their van and trailer to join forces with Vader! Those dates are below.

God Dethroned tour blog part 3: North America pt. 2
Susan Gerl of God Dethroned reports in from their North American tour:
Time for a recap of the second and last part of our US tour! These last 12 days simply flew by and we played many cool shows in the meantime. On my birthday we played a very cool show in Seattle! A big thank you to everyone in the crowd for the nice birthday wishes and for wanting to hear so many of our songs so that we ran out of them in the end, haha! The other bands and our tour manager Erin bought me a doughnut (with a very special shape, hehe) and I got a nice birthday card and a bottle of whiskey, which we shared on the bus since we had a very long drive from Seattle to St. Paul that night.

We played a very good gig at Station 4 and met many friendly people there. One day later we played in Milwaukee at the Rave which is an amazing venue with a very beautiful, yet eerie atmosphere at the same time, since it is claimed to have haunted cellars. Opposite the venue was the place where Jeffrey Dahmer used to live and he supposedly got rid of the dead bodies via underground tunnels to the other side of the street, where the Rave is situated, so obviously we did a full tour through the underground tunnels with all the bands during which Matt and Shaun of Woe of Tyrants proved to be really professional touring guides, haha!

Our gigs in Cleveland, Toronto and especially Montreal because of the great crowd went really well.
When we played at the Webster in Hartford there was another band playing in the same venue and they drew this huge crowd of screaming 14 year-old girls which was pretty hilarious because every time they opened their backstage window they all went berserk, hehe!
Glad we don't have fans like that ;-)

On 16 October we played in New York and since we arrived there early we had some time to do some sightseeing which was really interesting. I have never been to New York before, so it was really nice to see all the landmarks, which you usually only see on tv, for real once.
Watch two videos from our NY gig here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEOu6B_cNG0
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbtxOUdzpCA
The day after New York we played at the Palladium in Worcester at a festival show with a band I really love: Type O Negative. We played a short but good gig and I met this guy a bit later that night ;-)
(Don’t I look extremely tiny next to him?)

So today is the last day of our US tour. We will play our last show in Rochester tonight and will be arriving in Europe again on Thursday. Then we can relax for one day, see our family and loved ones, sleep in our own beds for one night (wohoo) and the day after we will embark on our 3-week triple headliner tour with Hollenthon and Endstille.
Cheers,
Susan - on behalf of God Dethroned

Peter Joseph of The Absence now playing Suhr Guitars exclusively!
An update from Peter Joseph of The Absence:
“I’m super stoked to now be with Suhr exclusively, and the switch couldn't have happened at a better time! Using and abusing the first Modern I got a few months back really helped rekindle my playing and has totally helped with the writing on our new record, "ENEMY UNBOUND". And it truly feels great to push a company that I can whole heartedly feel proud about, as well as the great help and support everyone at Suhr has given me already! A huge thanks to John, Ed and Mike, you guys rule! I can't wait to see what kind of sick guitars my future holds from Suhr!”
Ed Yoon from Suhr Guitars comments: "It's great to have Peter Joseph on board. The Absence kicks all kinds of ass in the metal scene and they really can play. You know, we get artists and bands wanting endorsement deals on a daily basis and we don't take these things lightly. We're pretty picky about the artists that we want to work with and we all checked out The Absence thoroughly and really liked what we heard - that goes for Mike Ponce as well, our resident metal head. We will definitely make a strong effort to reach the broader metal market in the future as the Modern model (and its future variants like the 7-string and the 27-fretter) and the new amps we're developing for the future are so perfect for those types of sounds. Brutal, crushing, heavy, mean, etc. are all terms we like. But we want to add some musicality as well as precision to those adjectives and I believe that's what Peter was looking for when he hooked up with us. Metal market, here we come!" Ed Yoon/ SUHR GUITARS
Enemy Unbound, the new album from The Absence, is coming early 2010!
