AS I LAY DYING North American and European Fall tour dates announced!
Nominated for a San Diego Music Award for Best Hard Rock Album
Grammy-nominated metal group AS I LAY DYING has just announced a new set of fall tour dates in North America and Europe. In support of their latest release THE POWERLESS RISE--which debuted on the Billboard Top 200 chart at #10--the band will kick off the run September 14 in El Paso, TX with support from All That Remains, Unearth, and Carnifex. The tour will take the band down south, through the northeast, before making its way west through Canada, wrapping up October 11 in Chico, CA. AS I LAY DYING will then end the year with shows throughout Europe (see below for full tour dates).
AS I LAY DYING--NICK HIPA (guitar), TIM LAMBESIS (vocals), JORDAN MANCINO (drums), PHIL SGROSSO (guitar) and JOSH GILBERT (bass)--just wrapped the "Cool Tour" with Underoath, Between the Buried and Me, Blessthefall, The Acacia Strain, Architects, Cancer Bats, and War of Ages in San Francisco August 1. In a live review from the 7/31 Los Angeles date, Louie Bones of BigWheelMagazine.com said, "As I Lay Dying hit the stage to an intro song that reminded me of an epic war scene from a movie, it set the tone for what was to come. The 4000 maximum capacity crowd howled in excitement as the 5 members of As I Lay Dying broke into the set opener '94 Hours.' The bone shattering bass drum was felt by all across the floor and up into the Palladium's balconies. It was similar to an earthquake set to musical rhythm and growled along to…Fans had waited all day for this and they were not let down by any means as As I Lay Dying tore through the Palladium relentlessly late into the night."
Prior to the fall tour, AS I LAY DYING performed Saturday, August 7th as part of the Maloof Money Cup presented by Vans which aired live on FUEL TV. The MMC--the world's premiere showcase for amateur and professional skateboarding--returns to Orange County for a third straight year August 4-8 (during the 2010 OC Fair) and will award nearly $450,000 in cash and prizes in four professional U.S. championship competitions: the VOLCOM Street Pro, Women's Pro Street, Carl's Jr. Pro Vert Championships and the World Industries Amateur Championships. More than 25 bands will perform including Lil' Jon, Ludacris, YelaWolf and others. Fans can now head over to MetalBlade.tv and BEHEMOTH's official YouTube Channel to check out the brand new production video for the track "Alas, Lord Is Upon Me" off the group's latest release Evangelion. The video for "Alas, Lord Is Upon Me" was produced and directed by Rafal Szermanowicz and Grupa 13 who also shot BEHEMOTH's videos for Ov Fire and the Void and At the left hand ov God. Fans can also check out a behind the scenes clip from the video shoot HERE.
Nergal comments on "Alas, Lord Is Upon Me:
"First of all, we've overcome ourselves with this new video clip. Period. It's something we've wanted to do for a very long time. Pretty much no digital intervention, no blue boxes, no fake shit this time, but great filming, good acting, and a fuckin' awesome storyline. It's disturbing, crazy, and evil. We've had over 70 people working for us on this video so we can easily say it was the biggest production so far. I'm beyond excited! Wait and see…"
Dariusz Szermanowicz of Grupa #13 adds; "This time we decided to make something different. We'd like to make video in 'cinematic' style without so many VFX like in last two videos. We found great location, we had dozen of actors and extras and awesome stylizing. During the 16 hours of hard work we've created amazingly killer video!"

BEHEMOTH's frontman Nergal taken ill; upcoming shows canceled
The following excerpt is a statement from BEHEMOTH's frontman and guitarist Nergal regarding his health and the canceling of upcoming tour dates.
"Dear All,
I'd like to announce that Behemoth won't be able to tour for the foreseeable future. I don't wanna bore you with details here, but I'm sick and am receiving some serious medical treatment. It's gonna take another few weeks or more for full recovery, and so we have been forced to cancel all the Behemoth shows in August, planned dates in Russia and Baltic States for September and October, and our American tour in November. I know how much it sucks but health comes first. I can assure all of you that when we return, I'll be stronger than death, and we'll reschedule every tour as soon as logistics allow. I feel good and strong, my mind is focused, I've got my loving woman by my side, my band mates, friends (never thought there are so many, haha), management, agents and label people are giving me massive support. I can't ask for more but a little patience now. The fact that we won't be touring for the next few months doesn't mean we'll hibernate. Behemoth will be active on several other levels. In upcoming days you can expect the premiere of our newest video, 'Alas, Lord Is Upon Me' which is by far the sickest fuckin' thing we've ever done! The Evangelia Heretika DVD is coming out as scheduled in November this year. Also, check out our Webstore that opens for international markets in upcoming weeks. This is it for now. Stay tuned!"

ALLEGAEON confirms tour dates in August to promote "Fragments Of Form And Function"!
Colorado's premiere metal band will be hitting the road for a string of dates later this month. The dates start on August 19th in Amarillo, TX and wrap up on August 28th in Greeley, CO. These are the first of many tour dates the band will be scheduling in support of their Metal Blade Records debut album, Fragments Of Form And Function. More dates are currently in the works and will see Allegaeon heading to many cities and states for the first time.
Vocalist Ezra Haynes adds, "We're extremely excited to get back out on the road. It's been awhile since we've played out of state so it will be awesome to get back on the saddle again. We've always felt that the Texas region has greeted us with open arms so naturally we felt it was a great area to start the promotion for our debut record Fragments of Form and Function."

Flash Back Fridays on Metal Blade TV launches today!
On Fridays, Metal Blade Records will be releasing a classic production video from the vaults on MetalBlade.tv. First up on Metal Blade TV'sFlash Back Fridays is Cannibal Corpse's video for "Sentenced to Burn" off the album Gallery of Suicide, which was released April 21, 1998. Seeing as the label has been around for almost 30 years now, we have quite a bit of videos to go through and digitize for the rabid metal world to view.
