OSI: Brand New Album Announced! Tracklisting and Album Artwork Revealed
"Fire Make Thunder" Audio Medley Now Available!
Fire Make Thunder marks the fourth undertaking for the collaborative duo known as OSI. Formed in 2002 by Jim Matheos (Fates Warning, Arch/Matheos) and Kevin Moore (Chroma Key, former Dream Theater keyboardist), OSI is a long distance partnership, both musicians typically writing and recording alone and sending song ideas back and forth for further elaboration. Written and recorded throughout most of 2011, this latest release once again reflects the eclectic influences of both Matheos and Moore.
Fire Make Thunder is slated for a March 27th release via Metal Blade Records. Today OSI unveils the artwork and the tracklisting for their fourth release.
Track listing:
1) Cold Call
2) Guards
3) Indian Curse
4) Enemy Prayer
5) Wind Won't Howl
6) Big Chief II
7) For Nothing
8) Invisible Men
Additionally, OSI has released an exclusive audio medley from Fire Make Thunder, which features audio samples from the upcoming release. The medley as well as pre-order opportunities can be accessed HERE.
Returning as the band’s session drummer is Gavin Harrison of Porcupine Tree, this time co-writing one of the tracks with the band. All other instruments and programming were performed by both Matheos and Moore, while vocals and lyrics were handled exclusively by Moore.
All of the recording for Fire Make Thunder, with the exception of drums, was done by Moore and Matheos at each musician’s respective home studio with drums being recorded at Harrison’s home in London. Final overdubs as well as some additional writing/arranging was completed in July 2011 in Jamaica, Iowa, where the band mixed alongside engineer Matt Sepanic at Sound Farm Studio and Recording Environment. Mastering was handled by renowned engineer Roger Siebel. The record was produced by both Moore and Matheos.
We reached out to OSI for comments on the album. Our calls have not been returned.

Decibel Magazine Tour Line Up Announced
Behemoth, Watain, The Devil's Blood and In Solitide take part in premier heavy metal magazine's inaugural tour starting in April
Blackened clouds are gathering overhead, and it's all our fault. North America's premier heavy metal magazine is launching the maiden edition of its annual earth-scorching tour this April. The inaugural Decibel Magazine Tour will feature not just the long-awaited stateside return of Polish blackened death metal overlords Behemoth, but support from Swedish black metal provocateurs Watain, Dutch prog mystics the Devil's Blood and Swedish old-school occultists In Solitude.
Beginning in April and laying waste through a gargantuan 26-date run, the Decibel Magazine Tour (presented by Metal Blade Records, IndieMerchStore.com, FYE, ESP Guitars and Good Fight Entertainment) not only offers four diverse European artists hand-picked by the magazine, but doubles as Behemoth's first U.S. tour since vocalist/guitarist Adam "Nergal" Darski's well-documented battle with—and triumph over—leukemia.
Gruesome visual evidence of this tour package is forthcoming: We went all the way to Sweden to capture the frontmen and women of all four bands for our special Decibel Magazine Tour cover story, streeting in April. "Considering the fact that we'll be sharing the stage with the most evil and uncompromising bands around—Watain, the Devil's Blood and In Solitude—this already makes it a legendary bill that you can't miss out on!" promises Nergal. "Watch out. We won't show up—we will ARRIVE with all the strength and might!"
"Part of Decibel's mission is to push the boundaries of what a metal publication is capable of doing," adds Decibel editor-in-chief Albert Mudrian, the tour's principal curator. "By bringing bands like Watain, the Devil's Blood and In Solitude to larger stages in the U.S, we create an additional vehicle to help raise their profiles. It's another way to infect the mainstream with the power of the underground."
It only makes sense that Decibel would present a tour package with a sense of integrity, purpose and history. "It is a joint force of artistic adversity and sinister creativity," assures Watain frontman Erik Danielsson, "which makes me think of the glorious days when bands like Venom, Metallica, Exodus and Slayer toured together like a great middle finger raised towards their sheep-minded contemporaries."
Excited yet? Well, here's an early opportunity to score a great deal AND avoid standing in line. Fifteen premium packages are available in each market that include your ticket to the show, a tour T-shirt, a tour poster and a super-exclusive "Skip the Line" pass to move you to the front when doors open. The price of this package is less than you would spend on a ticket and a tour shirt at the show! More details, including tour dates, venues and ticket info will be announced at www.decibelmagazinetour.com on January 24th. Every ticket purchased through Top Spin will come with a commemorative laminate, and all fans that purchase their ticket through Top Spin will be entered to win an ESP Guitar.
Hails to our partners!

RAM was created back in '99 and released their first E.P Sudden Impact in 2003. After playing numerous festivals and a support tour for Sebastian Bach they released their first long player Forced Entry in late 2005 which brought the entire old school Heavy Metal community to its knees. RAM hit the road with Dark Tranquillity, did some Scandinavian shows with Gamma Ray and played gigs and festivals all over Europe.
In 2008 the band returned to the studio with producer Johan Reivén to record the album Lightbringer which was released in 2009 via AFM Records. This time they really took the time to explore the true heavy metal sound. The recording of the album took 10 months of nothing but strife for pure Heavy Metal perfection. RAM also headed out on a headline European tour to promote the album.
In 2011 RAM went back into the studio to record their third album Death. This time they worked with producers Per Stålberg and Olle Björk to create their best album to date by far. Live shows as support for Swedish extreme black metal band Watain followed as well as destroying some festivals.
The world trembles in fear before the release of the metal behemoth that is Death. RAM are back! Necks will be broken!
RAM is:
Oscar Carlquist - Vocals
Morgan Pettersson - Drums
Harry Granroth - Guitar
Daniel Johansson - Guitar
Tobias Peterson - Bass

UNEARTH introduces Nick Pierce as their new drummer!
Fans that have seen Unearth live on their recent trips to Alaska, Japan and on their US and Canadian tour with Chimaira, may have noticed a new face on stage. The guy behind the kit has been none other than up-and-coming drummer, Nick Pierce.
Nick Pierce is a self taught drummer who's been playing since age 10. He grew up playing for local bands in the Seattle/Tacoma area (Culling the Weak, Eterna Nocturna, Embalmed) as well as LA based band The Faceless. Nick first sat in behind the kit for Unearth in May of 2011 during their two show trip to Alaska. Unearth discovered Pierce on YouTube where he had been covering Unearth songs, among many other bands, on a series of videos on his YouTube channel.
Vocalist Trevor Phipps adds: "Nick is a beast of a drummer and a great guy to hang with. I look forward to jamming with him around the world for years to come." Guitarist Buz McGrath compliments Pierce and says he has a "Great attitude, energy and the knowledge that we can throw the most insane riffs at him and he can create and adequately perform next level beats for said riffs makes it a little easier to sleep at night."
Nick Pierce shares his excitement about joining Unearth: "I've been a fan of Unearth for many years and I'm excited to shred with a great group of guys and support our fans."
A live video of Pierce performing "Watch It Burn" live on tour has been made available on Metal Blade TV HERE. Drum aficionados and fans should subscribe to Pierce's youtube channel for more drum videos, as well as a new eight-minute extended drum solo, which can be seen HERE.
Unearth's latest album, Darkness In The Light, is available everywhere now. The album has seen rave reviews, hundreds of spins on SiriusXM Liquid Metal, Full Metal Jackie and metal radio worldwide. Check out what's been said so far…
"strong, dynamic songwriting…it highlights Unearth's strengths superbly." Decibel Magazine
"a whirling torrent of passion and aggression" 4/5, Terrorizer Magazine
"it's the band's reawakened urgency and positivity that makes this like discovering them for the first time again." Metal Hammer Magazine
"Darkness In The Light is a maelstrom of melodic riffs, screamy shouts and enough noodling to keep Guitar Hero nerds happy. But it’s not chasing maidens and slaying dragons; Unearth have enough of the ’90s straight-edge hardcore scene still left in their blood to give the lyrics an impassioned warrior cry against corrupt politics and wavering faith." 4/5, Alternative Press Magazine

German Thrash Metal legends EXUMER launch video trailer with music and artwork of upcoming new album "Fire & Damnation"!
Legendary German thrashers EXUMER have just launched a video trailer for their long anticipated comeback album Fire & Damnation, to be released April 6th/10th via Metal Blade Records in Europe and on April 10th in North America.
Surf over to Metal Blade TV HERE to check out the trailer that features music of Fire & Damnation as well as the stunning front cover. The art direction and production of the clip was executed by German-born artist Cyphers-X, who has worked with bands such as The Very End in the past.
EXUMER singer Mem V. Stein adds:"We are very excited for our fans to hear and see a taste of things to come and what they can expect from "Fire and Damnation". We intentionally worked with Cyphers-X to keep the trailer short and to the point, which is a perfect representation of the album. Fans can expect nothing short of some of the most pure, uncompromising and undiluted thrash metal they have heard in a long while."
EXUMER recorded their first new album in 24 years with renowned producer Waldemar Sorychta (Grip Inc., Therion, Sodom, Moonspell, etc.) at the helm. The 10-track strong, hard-hitting CD Fire & Damnation combines a punishing production with aggressive song writing. EXUMER manages to capture the intensity and feel of the 1980s thrash metal gems and yet sound up to date on their latest output.
Fire & Damnation will catapult EXUMER back in the forefront of the international music markets and the following live assaults in 2012; will only further cement the band's cult status among the ranks of classic thrash metal acts in the world!
EXUMER are:
Mem V. Stein-Vocals
Ray Mensh-Guitars
T. Schiavo-Bass
H.K.-Guitars
Matthias Kassner-Drums
Formed in 1985, by singer/bassist Mem V. Stein and guitarist Ray Mensh, EXUMER went on to release two albums in 1986 (Possessed by Fire), and 1987 (Rising from the Sea), that are regarded as some of the most cult thrash metal releases ever to come out of Germany. EXUMER was also one of the first thrash metal acts to capture exotic, foreign markets like Poland and Brazil, where their albums were domestically released in the 1980s. The subsequent tours that followed those releases secured the band live shows in front of thousands of fans and an unusually large following outside of Germany.
Plagued by line-up changes and internal turmoil the band broke up in 1990, and did not perform live, with the exception in 2001 at the prestigious Wacken Open Air Festival, until 2009.
Mem and Ray decided to re-activate EXUMER in 2008, and the band embarked on their first tour since 1988, where they played 5 shows in April/May of 2009. The "5 Nights of Fire Tour", took the band through Europe (Germany, Holland, Greece), and the USA, where they headlined the "Thrasho de Mayo Festival" ,in front of 1300 fans in Los Angeles.
EXUMER returned to Europe in spring and the fall of 2010, where the band appeared at Norway's "Inferno Festival", among other stops in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Poland and Bulgaria during their "European Ignition Tour Part I & II".
More details on Fire & Damnation and the first new song will be posted soon!

THE DEVIL'S BLOOD: New Album Out Now! "The Madness of Serpents" Art Teaser Posted
The Thousandfold Epicentre, the long awaited new full-length from Dutch occult rockers THE DEVIL'S BLOOD, is out NOW in North America! Featuring 11 tracks produced with the help of Pieter Kloos at Void Studios (Eindhoven, The Netherlands), The Thousandfold Epicentre has reaped critical acclaim among critics nationwide. Crowned this week's Album Of The Week, MSN Headbang noted: "…this daring, mysterious album sees this promising band starting to sound closer to being fully realized than ever before." Verbicide championed the band saying: "…if rock 'n roll is truly the devil's music, then THE DEVIL'S BLOOD could be headliners in Hell," while Decibel Magazine proclaimed it "…an 11-track opus of maximum cosmic significance…"
In related news, "The Madness of Serpents" art clip, the latest installment to the record's video teaser series, is up now at the band's official landing page. Check it out at THIS LOCATION.
THE DEVIL'S BLOOD is a dedication to principles and principals more ancient than Time, a branch of a tree greater than the World, an exclamation of both the profound and the profane. THE DEVIL'S BLOOD has always been one of the many vessels through which the Light of the Devil shines upon the darkness of the world and shall always be the possible entrance to a path walked alone. But only for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear. This path starts not in understanding but in confusion.
Words From The Converted:
"…never in my wildest dreams was I expecting an album of such clarity, verve and force, outstripping everything the band has achieved so far in their career and setting an unreasonably high benchmark for this resurgent genre." -- Lurker's Path
"There's an odd mini-movement of bands like this – Blood Ceremony, Sabbath Assembly and the afore-mentioned Ghost all truck in various degrees of darkly alternative spirituality and early '70s hard rock. (Who knew Black Widow's 1970 occult rock LP Sacrifice would become such a sacred text?) THE DEVIL'S BLOOD is at the forefront of this strange crowd, however, and the excellent The Thousandfold Epicentre makes no bones about why." -- The Big Take Over
"…THE DEVIL'S BLOOD bring to mind what Jefferson Airplane's sound would have been if they abandoned their love of psychedelic drugs for good old-fashioned Satanism." -- L.A. Weekly
"On their sophomore album, Dutch act THE DEVIL'S BLOOD deliver NWOBHM-kissed riffs and melodic female vocals like it's 1980 all over again" -- Noisecreep
"…dynamic and luminous…" -- Terrorizer
"THE DEVIL'S BLOOD are entity onto themselves, and could very well be considered metal's most valid Satanic band." -- Blistering
"…one of the most captivating releases of the year 2012. A superlative effort," -- Metal Assault
"The Thousandfold Epicentre is capable of alluring visions, a veritable siren's song of majesty and grace." -- Blood Good Horror

SHAI HULUD announces Hope Within Hatred tour; working on new album
Shai Hulud will kick off 2012 with a co-headlining tour alongside A Plea For Purging. Support on the tour comes from Counterparts and Dead Icons. The tour begins on February 23th in Danbury, CT and wraps up March 18th in Evansville, IN. Additionally, Shai Hulud, will be playing four headlining shows in Mexico from March 8th-11th.
Shai Hulud is currently writing the follow-up to their latest album, Misanthropy Pure. The band plans on recording after this tour.
Matt Fox adds, "When I was in high school I proudly wore a Slayer "Hell Awaits" back patch on my patch and pin riddled jean jacket on top of a Who Framed Roger Rabbit t-shirt while skipping classes in Batman Converse high tops. I never gave a fuck about looking cool. In form, when given the opportunity Shai Hulud tours with bands we think we might like to be around. We're happy to be hitting the road with our pals in Counterparts, and soon-to-be pals in A Plea For Purging and Dead Icons. And what's more, I'd probably kill to have that Roger Rabbit shirt again."
"If indeed the moon ends up in the Seventh House, and Jupiter aligns with Mars we should be recording a new album this Spring. We spend a good deal of time working on our songs because we give a shit about music. With more ideas than solos or breakdowns, we mean to make Jello Biafra proud. And hopefully you as well. You'll have to let us know if we did just that. Be of good cheer, excelsiors all around."
Here's what press said about Misanthropy Pure:
"Matt Fox might not be a household name, but his influence on modern metal is irrefutable." Noisecreep.com
"Misanthropy Pure sees Shai back at their heavy-riffing, temp-shifting best" 4/5 stars, Revolver Magazine
"Misanthropy is one giant, brain-rattling testament to the genre-blurring finesse of bands masterminds Matt Fox (guitar) and Matt Fletcher (bass), who fuse good, old-fashioned circle-pit hardcore with hair-whipping shred-metal, leaving us all the merrier for it." 4/5 stars, Alternative Press
"The complex, string-hopping and mind-bending guitar runs played on "Venomspreader" and "Chorus Of The Dissimilar", hell the entire album, walk that thin line between discombobulating and awe-inspiring." Blabbermouth.net
"Misanthropy Pure is the sound of a band pushing the boundaries of what technical hardcore can be." Ultimate-Guitar.com
