THE RED CHORD
"Fed Through The Teeth Machine"
RELEASED: 10/27/2009
THE RED CHORD breaks the Billboard Top 200 with ‘Fed Through the Teeth Machine’!
Boston Massachusetts metalers THE RED CHORD have hit the Billboard Top 200 chart at #180 with the release of their new studio album, Fed Through the Teeth Machine. THE RED CHORD also debuted at #34 on the Billboard Hard Music chart and #6 on the Billboard Heatseeker chart. Fed Through the Teeth Machine cracked the Neilson Sound Scan charts in Canada coming in at #57 on the Independent charts and #70 on the Hard charts. THE RED CHORD has already completed a month’s worth of dates on a two and a half month trek with labelmates GWAR and JOB FOR A COWBOY and will continue touring the US and Europe in support of the band’s 4th studio album, 3rd for Metal Blade.

Here’s what press has had to say about THE RED CHORD’s latest offering Fed Through the Teeth Machine:

“The Massachusetts quartet proves how forward-thinking a maligned subgenre can sound when the masters reclaim it…Frontman Guy Kozowyk sounds as feral as ever, barking typically batshit-weird lyrics that target everything from the economy to schizophrenia to, er, professional wrestling. Meanwhile, guitarist Mike ‘Gunface’ McKenzie proves his songwriting mettle (he wrote nine of the album’s 12 tracks), scrawling bizarre lines and textures over a locomotive-force rhythm section that leaves scant room to move. Even the breakdowns reveal advanced concepts of rhythm and texture - that’s a lead many of the Red Chord’s peers could stand to follow.” 4/5 stars, Alternative Press

“The foursome’s fierce attack is as brutal as ever…what could well be a bunch of noise in the hands of lesser headbangers is intricate and engrossing on Teeth Machine, whether it’s the twisting tempo shifts of ‘Demoralizer’ or the blazing twin guitar attacks on ‘Hymns and Crippled Anthems’.” Revolver Magazine

“…there’s a definite stamp of intent on Fed Through the Teeth Machine; there are more dynamics, more variety, a wider swath of sound being used in conjunction with the band’s brand of grind/death/core. Opener ‘Demoralizer’ is an excellent grinder with solid rhythms and a smooth integration of breathy string bends that are almost psychedelic. The next track, ‘Hour of Rats,’ utilizes a unique scalar shuffle with equal amounts melody and crunch. There are moments when Fed Through is angrier than a hornet’s nest, faster than Usain Bolt with diarrhea, and weird as that guy talking to himself on the street corner, but still as smart as a college professor and groovier than the skin around grandma’s eyes.” Decibel Magazine 8/10

Fed Through The Teeth Machine is faster and is more straightforward, but it’s hardly a compromise. Instead, it’s their best since Fused Together in Revolving Doors.” SputnikMusic.com

The Red Chord don’t make background music. Like Pig Destroyer or Converge, The Red Chord’s music is novelistic and impressionistic; you probably won’t be able to fully wrap your head around what you’ve just heard after a single listen. Teeth requires your full attention. Guy Kozowyk remains one of modern metal’s great poets; his lyrics alone demand that you engage with the music…If Jaws listened to metal before he tooth-raped some poor girl’s innards, this is what I think he’d listen to – this is hunter’s music” MetalSucks.net

“Mike ‘Gunface’ McKenzie is the album’s real all-star, and I’ll take as much of his playing as I can get, thank you very much. He sounds more nimble than ever, and while I’ve always really dug his solos, he’s stepped up his game here – they all absolutely slay.” MetalSucks.net

“These guys take great pride in not only blowing your mind with their superior musicianship, but with their highly imaginative lyrical content. Do yourself a favor Fango-fiends and pick up FED THROUGH THE TEETH MACHINE. You won’t be disappointed.” 4.5/5 skulls, Fangoria.com

The Red Chord cranks out twelve tracks that blur the line between grind, deathcore, and death metal. The album oozes intensity, as every second seems more frantic than the next…After four albums, The Red Chord has hit their peak with Fed Through The Teeth Machine. The songwriting is strong and the band has finally found their creative stride…Trimming the excess fat off of Prey for Eyes and sticking to what brought them to the upper tier of the grind/death scene was the smartest move the band could possibly make.” About.com

"…outright humiliating the competition. From scathing opener ‘Demoralizer’ through to the disc's final seconds, there's not a moment wasted, offering quality control most groups spend a hell of a lot more than three records honing. A javelin toss ahead of the pack, Fed Through the Teeth Machine shreds, plain and simple." Exclaim.ca

“from a musical standpoint, this is as strong as The Red Chord has ever sounded.” Hellbound.ca

Fed Through the Teeth Machine is a capable and well-executed grindcore record from a band that understands what the genre is all about.” CraveOnline.com

“Each track on this album is different, but what coheres them into one whole is the unity of the band’s vision, their intelligence, ingenuity, and a great deal of humor which gives an extra layer of meaning to their amazing chops.” HardRockHaven.net

“Massachusetts’ tech-death/hardcore muck and grinders the Red Chord developed the template for their sound, only to watch a million other bands copy it. Big surprise, huh? Well, the joke’s on the newcomers, because The Red Chord still do it far better, which they prove beyond a shadow of doubt on their fourth album.” The Daily News McKeesport

“Even more incredible though is what guitarist Mike ‘Gunface’ McKenzie brings to the table; not only is his playing a veritable master class of styles and techniques, but every flourish of his plectrum is so tightly synchronized with Frickeisen’s octopus-like drumming, it sounds like what T-1000 would play if only he’d stop killing people and focus a little more on his music.” ThrashHits.com

“’Hour Of Rats’ is packed with layers that the Dillinger Escape Plan boys would be proud to produce, ‘Ingest The Ash’ would be a shoe-in for the next Guitar Hero game were it not guaranteed to give everyone content to click along to Weezer and the Beatles the worst headache of their lives, and if you can pick apart the intricacies of ‘Sleepless Nights In The Compound’ first time round you’re smarter than anyone at Planet Loud. Brilliant, belligerent, bitter and then some.” 9/10, Planet-Loud.com

The Red Chord is still leagues ahead of many of the other acts in the genre and it doesn’t look as though they are going to be slowing down any time soon.” CosmosGaming.com

“The bottom line is that this album is heavy and intelligently crafted, and each band member meets the high standard they set when they wrote the songs.” ExploreMusic.com

While the heavy music scene is flooded and littered with trendy, ‘current’ fusion bands that string together electronics and mosh and pretend to be as brutal as f*&^, The Red Chord aren’t having any of it. The music on Fed Through the Teeth Machine is like a hulking hammer that rips and tears at the fabric of all that is trend-driven. But The Red Chord aren’t making music for that purpose; they’re just good enough to flip off trends and top the bands that perpetrate them. The Massachusetts band – which has downsized to a lean ‘n mean four-piece to counteract the bad economy function as a quartet without sacrificing any of their Rottweiler-like ferocity and tenacity - continues to focus on making extreme metal, for extreme people who want something lyrically and musically outside the box and forward thinking and don’t want some assembly-line, manufactured, “of the moment” band in their lives. Put simply: If you want to have your bones reduced to dust and your brain taken out scrambled and put back in by music, then The Red Chord are up for that task with Fed Through the Teeth Machine.

Boston Massachusetts metalers THE RED CHORD are gearing up for the release of their fourth full length album (third for Metal Blade) titled Fed Through the Teeth Machine, due out on October 27th in the US. THE RED CHORD already has dates lined up with labelmates and interplanetary gods GWAR along with labelmates Job for a Cowboy. The nearly two and a half month trek with GWAR and Job for a Cowboy will take THE RED CHORD across the United States kicking off in Houston Texas on September 29th and finishing up in New York City on December 13th.

Here’s what guitarist Mike “Gunface” McKenzie has to say about the band’s new album Fed Through the Teeth Machine; "We spent the last year working hard on this one and we're excited for everyone to finally hear it. It's a lot faster and, in my opinion, more straight forward in a structural sense. We're really happy with the great work Jonny Fay and Zeuss did too. It's not a concept record, but there are some loose conceptual elements to it: hygienic obsession, delusional compound-dwellers and Maniac Mansion. Get ready to make fun of us on the internet!"

In conjunction with the release of Fed Through the Teeth Machine, THE RED CHORD has just uploaded the brand new track Demoralizer to their freshly updated MySpace page that showcases the album’s artwork. Check out the new MySpace design and track Demoralizer HERE.

"Demoralizer kind of sums up what the record is about. It's aggressive and fast with some darker melodic parts. Probably one of the angriest-sounding songs we've recorded, which fits the records vibe" comments Mike “Gunface” McKenzie.

Fed Through the Teeth Machine track listing:
1. Demoralizer
2. Hour Of Rats
3. Hymns And Crippled Anthems
4. Embarrassment Legacy
5. Tales Of Martyrs And Disappearing Acts
6. Floating Through The Vein
7. Ingest The Ash
8. One Robot To Another
9. Mouthful Of Precious Stones
10. The Ugliest Truth
11. Face Area Solution
12. Sleepless Nights In The Compound

While the heavy music scene is flooded and littered with trendy, ‘current’ fusion bands that string together electronics and mosh and pretend to be as brutal as fuck, THE RED CHORD aren’t having any of it.

THE RED CHORD is:
Guy Kozowyk - Vocals
Mike “Gunface” McKenzie - Guitars
Greg Weeks - Bass
Brad Fickeisen – Drums
