FROM A SECOND STORY WINDOW
"Conversations"
RELEASED: 05.27.2008
Long hailed as the kings of the musical ADD generation and attributed as a key influence to exploding hype bands The Devil Wears Prada and Bring Me the Horizon, From a Second Story Window return with their long-awaited third release, Conversations. The group must have taken their Adderal as the effort is worlds more focused, mature and genre-defying than any of their prior releases.

Their most honest and sincere record to date, Conversations showcases FASSW simultaneously at their heaviest and most melodic points. Leaving behind some of the cluttered, confusing elements, the band have found their true identity amidst a combination of their signature style with the ambience and texture of bands like Will Haven, Dreg and Isis and the creepy, ferocious and ethereal qualities of the Deftones— a bold change which is quite refreshing in an era where many bands have forgotten the value of solid songwriting.

One of the most remarkable qualities about this album is the infectious hooks and incredible range of vocalist, Will Jackson. Besides his distinct monster voice, Jackson rips into soaring choruses and melodies reminiscent of Cave In’s Stephen Brodsky. He has proven his versatility as a vocalist and lyricist on this ambitious concept record. Built on life’s many frustrations, the lyrics are set up as conversations between characters in a play or movie tackling many personal, social and political issues.

In the last few years FASSW have won over thousands of fans across the world while on tour with many of the biggest names in metal and hardcore including August Burns Red, The Devil Wears Prada, Unearth, Darkest Hour, The Acacia Strain, Walls of Jericho, All Shall Perish, Through the Eyes of the Dead, Job for a Cowboy and Animosity among others. It doesn’t look like things will be slowing down anytime soon either with upcoming tours already confirmed with Himsa, Divine Heresy and With Blood Comes Cleansing and a scheduled appearance at the upcoming New England Metal and Hardcore Festival.
