Metal Blade's The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel, and Six Feet Under set to decimate crowds on the Summer Slaughter Tour!
Fans have the opportunity to vote for tour opener!

Metal Blade Records heavyweights THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, WHITECHAPEL, and SIX FEET UNDER are all confirmed to head out on the 5th annual Summer Slaughter Tour, presented by ESP Guitars and Indie Merch Store, which runs from July 21st through August 21st. Headlining the tour this summer is none other than Detroit MI's THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER with Knoxville, TN's WHITECHAPEL co-headlining the bill. Rounding out what is sure to be one of the summer's heaviest tours is Darkest Hour, SIX FEET UNDER, Dying Fetus, As Blood Runs Black, Oceano, Fleshgod Apocalypse, in addition to a special halftime performance by Powerglove.

What makes the 5th installment of Summer Slaughter so special is that the folks behind the tour are giving fans the opportunity to pick the band that will open the tour. Fans will get to pick from a list of 10 bands and place their vote on the tour's Facebook page HERE (deadline is April 11th). Voting is now open and Metal Blade Records very own DAWN OF ASHES are on the list so be sure to show your support and place your request for the extreme horror metal outfit. This tour is for the fans, so let your voice be heard.

"After months in secrecy, it brings us great pleasure to finally reveal our headlining status for this year's Summer Slaughter festivities. It is a great honor to be asked to play with so many talented bands… we had a killer time last round and this year will be no exception. Beers bongs will be had, horns will fly, and legions of metal fans will be left devastated! Bring your daughter to the slaughter… or something." Trevor Strnad of THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER

"We are excited to be a part of this year's Summer Slaughter tour. The past two years we have done big outside festival summer tours so it will be awesome to make it more intimate this summer and do a tour like Summer Slaughter. In 2008 we opened Summer Slaughter and now just 3 years later we will be back playing alongside some great bands and friends. I couldn't think of a more perfect way to return to the Summer Slaughter tour!" Alex Wade of WHITECHAPEL

"We're honored to have the opportunity to share the stage this summer with the best of the best in metal today…all that attend the 5th annual Summer Slaughter Tour will be left six feet under!" Chris Barnes of SIX FEET UNDER

Joining vocalist Chris Barnes, guitarist Steve Swanson, guitarist Rob Arnold, and drummer Kevin Talley on the Summer Slaughter Tour will be a special guest on second guitar. More information on that soon!

SIX FEET UNDER are currently in Europe playing shows with the new lineup consisting of Chris Barnes and Steve Swanson along with Rob Arnold (Chimaira), Kevin Talley (Chimaira, Dying Fetus, Misery Signals, Daath, and more), and Matt DeVries (also of Chimaira) stepping in on bass.

Think you have what it takes to create the best new font or new music video for the band? Then submit your ideas to info@dawnofashes.com and be sure to follow the details listed below. All contestants will have a chance to win a signed prop from the music video Transformation Within Fictional Mutation, which was produced by Robert Kurtzman's (KNB EFX founder, special effects legend, director) PRECINCT 13, who also handled the special effects, with directing duties wielded by David H. Greathouse (special effects master, film director, and music video director behind Mushroomhead's videos) . Please read below for more details and submit all ideas to:

** Must be very detailed and unique.

** Must be off the album Genocide Chapters.
** Must fall under these categories: Dark, Morbid, Disturbing, Evil, Sacrilegious, and Horror.

The band will meticulously go through all entries and pick the winner themselves. The deadline for this contest ends by February 28 2011 so be sure to get your ideas in now!

Here's what press has been saying about DoA's current full-length album GENOCIDE CHAPTERS so far:
"DAWN OF ASHES —a horror metal group complete with flesh-eaten faces—are 100 percent melodic death metal. And what works for this band (unlike so many of their counterparts) is that the songs here aren't built around the strengths of any one member. Vocals aren't over-the-top, solos aren't soul-sucking and the drummer doesn't go nuts on the China cymbal during breakdowns… the ability to play Chapters over and over and not get sick of it shows that this band is doing a lot right." Decibel Magazine

"A whirlwind of eerie melodic black metal" Revolver Magazine

"There is something here that can't be ignored." About.com

"Opening in a blaze of anarchic mayhem, 'Conjugation of the Maskim's Black Blood' sets the benchmark, which continues with the black metal 'The Ancient Draining Room'…With lyrics dealing with all manners of evil, vocalist Kristof Bathory will scare the crap out of you with his delivery. It's definitely an album worth listening to though, just maybe not before bed." Powerplay Magazine (UK)

"Vile orchestrators of auditory darkness" TheNewReview.net

"A Haunting, Evil Masterwork… DAWN OF ASHES sounds like melodic/symphonic black metal veterans on Genocide Chapters. The band pulls off this sound with ease, constantly amazing the listener as they embark on a dark and nightmarish journey." 4/5 Sea of Tranquility.com

"If you ever have a craving for a dosage of evil, Genocide Chapters is one of the best places to turn… It never gets repetitive or boring, while still maintaining a worthwhile playtime. It also doesn't hurt that Genocide Chapters is an extremely diverse album in terms of tempo, arrangements, and general moods… They really hit the nail on the head with this release, and I have to applaud them for taking a big risk, and more importantly, succeeding tremendously." 4/5 Metal Music Archives.com

About the band:
Deep from within the bowels of the earth an unholy quartet rises, hell-bent on bringing the metal masses a new form of dark, heavy and demonically devastating music sure to strike fear into the hearts of the bravest of men and bring the weakest to their knee. Kristof Bathory, Volkar Kael, Bahemoth and Othuum, four vile forms that control a new era in which nightmares become reality and the sounds of the macabre merge to form a catastrophic symphony, have summoned forth the sounds and visions of horror, hatred and suffering that is spewed forth in the name of chaos to create the extreme horror metal attack that has come to be known as DAWN OF ASHES- a name created to reflect upon the birth of death and failure, that which was once only an unspoken nightmare, but now is an unstoppable plague come to corrupt the flesh of man…

Since DoA's arrival in 2001, the band's goal has been to dominate the music scene with a sonic force so vile and evil the listener will be both entranced and terrorized by the sheer ferocity the band delivers. DoA does so by conjuring new sights and sounds into the world of extreme melodic-death metal, an ambitious feat that will have to be experienced to be believed when the outfit hits the road in support of their current full-length Genocide Chapters with none other than symphonic black metalers Dimmu Borgir (along with Enslaved and Blood Red Throne) on a 32-date run across North America.

This horrific act entered the studio in the winter of 2010 to record their Metal Blade debut with producer Fred Archambault, known for his work with Avenged Sevenfold, Death By Stereo, Eighteen Visions, and many more. Handling the cover art for Genocide Chapters is Machine-Room (My Dying Bride).

It's time for a new chapter in metal to DAWN, so prepare yourself for total aural annihilation as the ASHES will never rest upon the weak, and our evil will never die…

Here's what press has been saying about DAWN OF ASHES' forthcoming album GENOCIDE CHAPTERS so far:
"DAWN OF ASHES —a horror metal group complete with flesh-eaten faces—are 100 percent melodic death metal. And what works for this band (unlike so many of their counterparts) is that the songs here aren't built around the strengths of any one member. Vocals aren't over-the-top, solos aren't soul-sucking and the drummer doesn't go nuts on the China cymbal during breakdowns… the ability to play CHAPTERS over and over and not get sick of it shows that this band is doing a lot right." Decibel Magazine

"Opening in a blaze of anarchic mayhem, 'Conjugation of the Maskim's Black Blood' sets the benchmark, which continues with the black metal 'The Ancient Draining Room'… With lyrics dealing with all manners of evil, vocalist Kristof Bathory will scare the crap out of you with his delivery. It's definitely an album worth listening to though, just maybe not before bed." Powerplay Magazine (UK)

"A Haunting, Evil Masterwork… DAWN OF ASHES sounds like melodic/symphonic black metal veterans on GENOCIDE CHAPTERS. The band pulls off this sound with ease, constantly amazing the listener as they embark on a dark and nightmarish journey." 4/5, SeaofTranquility.com

"If you ever have a craving for a dosage of evil, GENOCIDE CHAPTERS is one of the best places to turn… It never gets repetitive or boring, while still maintaining a worthwhile playtime. It also doesn't hurt that GENOCIDE CHAPTERS is an extremely diverse album in terms of tempo, arrangements, and general moods… They really hit the nail on the head with this release, and I have to applaud them for taking a big risk, and more importantly, succeeding tremendously." 4/5, MetalMusicArchives.com

"A crucial component to DAWN OF ASHES' impressive third outing is the overarching atmosphere that permeates the material on display. Throughout most of the long-player, tracks are interwoven with spine-chilling segues ranging from a soft downpour to muffled screams to droning feedback. These brief moments of transition mesh perfectly with the keyboards that awash every composition, conceiving that sinister and frightening aura of which is vitally important to the subconscious impact of such a record… Music enthusiasts of the world, give DAWN OF ASHES' latest release GENOCIDE CHAPTERS a genuine listen and more importantly, a chance." About the band:
Deep from within the bowels of the earth an unholy quartet rises, hell-bent on bringing the metal masses a new form of dark, heavy and demonically devastating music sure to strike fear into the hearts of the bravest of men and bring the weakest to their knee. Kristof Bathory, Volkar Kael, Bahemoth and Othuum, four vile forms that control a new era in which nightmares become reality and the sounds of the macabre merge to form a catastrophic symphony, have summoned forth the sounds and visions of horror, hatred and suffering that is spewed forth in the name of chaos to create the extreme horror metal attack that has come to be known as DAWN OF ASHES - a name created to reflect upon the birth of death and failure, that which was once only an unspoken nightmare, but now is an unstoppable plague come to corrupt the flesh of man…

Since DAWN OF ASHES arrival in 2001, the band's goal has been to dominate the music scene with a sonic force so vile and evil the listener will be both entranced and terrorized by the sheer ferocity the band delivers. DAWN OF ASHES does so by conjuring new sights and sounds into the world of extreme melodic-death metal, an ambitious feat that will have to be experienced to be believed when Genocide Chapters is unleashed on September 14th, 2010 with a major tour in support of the album coming in the fall.

Metal Blade Records signs DAWN OF ASHES; prepares to unleash full-length album ‘Genocide Chapters’
DAWN OF ASHES teams up with special FX group ADI (Amalgamated Dynamics Inc) for outfit and mask designs!

Metal Blade Records is pleased to announce it has inked a deal with the horror inspired black/death metal band DAWN OF ASHES. DAWN OF ASHES is a band whose passion for intense and macabre imagery, music, and live performances will soon be seen by the metal masses when Genocide Chapters is unleashed in late spring/summer 2010. The band is currently gearing up to enter the studio to record their Metal Blade debut with producer Fred Archambault, known for his work with Avenged Sevenfold, Death By Stereo, Eighteen Visions, and many more. Handling the cover art for Genocide Chapters is Machine-Room (My Dying Bride).

DAWN OF ASHES has enlisted the help of acclaimed special FX group ADI (Amalgamated Dynamics Inc.) to discuss plans for the new DOA outfits and mask designs. ADI is the special effects company that created the creatures and special effects for movies like: Alien 3, Alien Resurrection, Alien vs. Predator 1 and Requiem, Star Ship Troopers, Tremors and other films. This was amazing news for the band and should make DOA’s theatrical look even more interesting and grotesque.

"We are very honored to become a part of such a legendary Metal label. We cannot wait to see what this will do for the progression of the band's career. This is a new level for DAWN OF ASHES and we are very excited to become part of the Metal Blade family" comments DAWN OF ASHES.

DAWN OF ASHES = DOA, BRUTAL, HORRIFIC, HYPNOTIC, VICIOUS Heavy Metal that is the soundtrack for the Apocalypse. With Tim Smith of Blood Company managing and Fred Archambault handling the recording duties, Metal Blade is ecstatic to be part of this team” comments Metal Blade’s Michael Faley.

BIO:
Every nightmare is painted by a vision that is so terrifying and disturbing that only the imagination of pure violence can give a new form to eternal damnation. DAWN OF ASHES gave meaning to this in the year of 2001 by Kristof Bathory, the mastermind behind the sounds and visions of horror, hatred, and suffering. The name was created to reflect upon the birth of death and failure.

In 2005, DOA independently released their first demo entitled ‘Sacred Fever’. This release caught the eyes and ears of the German label NoiTekk and shortly after DOA were asked to sign to the label. A few months later, the U.S. label COP International, as well as Russian label Gravitor, took notice to DOA and asked them to join their rosters them as well.

In September of 2006, their debut album entitled ‘In the Acts of Violence’ was unleashed upon the world. The brutal debut captivated the dark hearts and minds of many. It was at this point that DOA began to grow a significant fan base, which set the band on its path to success.

In October of 2007, DOA released their second full length album entitled ‘The Crypt Injection’. The album displayed much growth and transformation in DOA’s dark sound and substance. Along with the studio album, DOA also created a music video for their song "Torture Device", which set much anticipation for the album's long awaited release. ‘The Crypt Injection’ aided in DOA gathering more fans, publicity, and attention from the masses.

Since DOA was formed, the band has made transitions in line-ups and sound to create their ideal artistic outlet. DOA did so by adding additional members and placing the element of live guitars and drums into the music, taking the group from the Industrial scene into the Metal scene. With DOA’s new, solid line-up, the next installment from DOA will summon new sights and sounds among the world with a Black/Melodic Death Metal sound. It is now time for DAWN OF ASHES to enhance the brutality, so be prepared for more to come as the ashes will never rest upon the weak; the evil within this group will never die!
