Malefice and Darkness Dynamite confirmed for Bloodstock 2009
MALEFICE and DARKNESS DYNAMITE are the two latest Metal Blade bands to be confirmed to appear at Bloodstock 2009. They will join label mates The Rotted, Anterior and Amon Amarth along with a host of others.
Both bands will appear on the Sophie Lancaster stage, which is poignant as Malefice’s DALE BUTLER explains:
“We’re delighted to be asked to appear on Bloodstock 2009. We’re even more honoured to be a part of the Sophie Lancaster stage, as the disgusting nature of her death is something I speak about on the track ‘Sickened’ on our latest album ‘DAWN OF REPRISAL’. Sophie was killed because of the way she looked, and at the end of the day this is no different to being killed because of the colour of your skin or your religious beliefs. We hope this will be an ongoing tribute to Sophie, and support Bloodstock in their efforts to stamp out mindless hatred and hypocrisy where ever it may be!”

Darkness Dynamite album trailer to be posted on TheGauntlet.com on July 2nd
France’s newest and one of their most over the top heavy bands has released a trailer for their album. The band will be shooting a video in September for a track that’s yet to be decided from their new album, The Astonishing Fury Of Mankind, which was released on June 9th.
Darkness Dynamite comments on the trailer: “The concept behind the album is to put a mirror in front of your face; you've got light and darkness in yourself. This video is a mirror in the front of the face of everyone. These women are blank people, with no real life, no particular passion, and they wanna live thru the cliché of a rock n roll band to feel alive and special. Their parents will ask themselves how could their daughters turn into people with no self respect? Even for the band, this kind of evening is kinda regular with darkness…and they are right now in conflict with themselves, will they assume to see what they are?”

After 5 months of intensive work with writing and pre-production, the recording process for The Fury Astonishing of Mankind began in August 2008. To make sure the sonic intensity could reach the level the band expected, a few producers were chosen: Stéphane Buriez recorded the guitars (Loudblast, Black Bomb A, L’Esprit du Clan) while Olivier at Elektricbox Studio in Lille tracked the drums (Borderline, Aceout, Monroe est Morte). The mixing and mastering duties were handled by Remyboy at Ahddenteam Studios, also in Lille (Mats & Morgans, Demians, Syn, Rodrigue).

In other news the band has secured three prestigious support slots in France. DARKNESS DYNAMITE will be supporting SEVENDUST on the 17th of June in the Trabendo in Paris, KORN on the 18th of June at the La Luna in Maubeuge and IMMOLATION on the 24th of June at L´Arcade in Notre Dame de Gravenchon!
