Critically-acclaimed, Richard Christy-led metal act, Charred Walls of the Damned, has recently confirmed a slot on one of the biggest music festivals of 2012: Orion Music and More Fest. The fest, which will be held at Bader Field in Atlantic City, NJ on June 23rd and 24th, will feature dozens of bands as well as a Billabong All Out Air Assault Surfing Expedition, Custom Car + Motorcycle Show, and much more. CHARRED WALLS OF THE DAMNED debut "Zerospan" video on BloodyDisgusting.com!
Agoura Hills, CA - March 12th, 2012 - Richard Christy of Charred Walls of the Damned has been hinting at a new video since November 2011, when the trailer was released. Zerospan was directed and edited by Mike Schiff (Charred Wall's previous 'Ghost Town' video) and Sean McEwen (Albino Farm) with special effects/make up by Brian Spears and Pete Gerner from G and S Effects (Stakeland). The lead actor in the video is Bryan Haeffele.
Richard Christy elaborates on the video's concept:
I'm so excited that fans will finally be able to see the "Zerospan" video after many months of hard work! For fans of horror like myself, this video is the perfect mix of technological horror and all out brutality. The "Zerospan" video is like a mini horror film and the story follows the lyrical subject matter perfectly and creates a haunting vision of a man absorbed by the world's ever growing technology. What it comes down to, though, is that it's pretty much just a kick ass heavy metal video! Big thanks to Mike, Sean, Brian, Pete, Bryan, Metal Blade, and everyone who helped make this video awesome!

Richard Christy talks about the concept behind the video: "What we're crafting with the "Zerospan" video is a five minute technological horror film set to blistering heavy metal! We had such an amazing filmmaking team for the "Zerospan" video. We had Directors Mike Schiff (Charred Walls 'Ghost Town' video) and Sean McEwan (Albino Farm) who are super talented and have brought some incredible ideas! We also had amazing special effects makeup by Brian Spears and Pete Gerner from G and S Effects who recently did the amazing vampire film "Stakeland"! Our lead actor Bryan Haeffele did amazing as well, and people are going to freak when they see the creature effects in this video! We're going to spend some time editing and making it perfect and we're looking to a January 2012 release date! We wanted to release this quick little teaser to give everyone a taste of the horrifying awesomeness that will be the "Zerospan" video! Trust me, it is going to be well worth the wait!"

Charred Walls of the Damned "Cold Winds On Timeless Days" Billboard Chart positions revealed
The latest album from Charred Walls of the Damned, Cold Winds On Timeless Days, has debuted on the Billboard charts! The record reached #53 on the Billboard Hard Music Charts and #14 on the Billboard New Artist (Heatseekers) Chart. On iTunes, the CD peaked at #43 on the rock charts. Additionally, the album reached #89 on the Hard Music Charts on Soundscan in Canada.

The writing process for the new album actually began while the band was mixing their 2010 debut. Richard Christy used his experience on the first album to write songs that catered not only to each member's playing style, but to Jason Suecof's production style. The result: demos that turned out nearly identical to what ended up on the album.
With 12 songs clocking in at 58 minutes, fans are getting a lot more music this time around. Recording twelve songs in a short amount of time is no easy feat, but one that was accomplished because of the stellar talents in the band. Christy elaborates further; "I wanted to get a natural sound out of this album, I wanted everyone to be well rehearsed, not that I wanted the album to be rushed, but I wanted the spontaneous live feel and not over think anything too much." Richard Christy elaborates: "The drum sound on the second Charred Walls of the Damned album 'Cold Winds On Timeless Days' turned out better than I ever could have imagined thanks to engineer Mark Lewis, the amazing drum room at Hit Factory/Criteria in Miami, and all of the great equipment that I endorse like Ddrum, Sabian, Vater, Axis and Aquarian! Rehearsing the full album every day for two months straight definitely helped too. Fortunately I set up a couple of video cameras at the studio and filmed a lot of my drum tracking for our second album. We did three or four takes straight through on the drums for each song so what you'll see on these videos isn't necessarily what we used on the album (some of the drum fills don't match up exactly) but they'll give you a great idea of how amazing the drum room at Hit Factory is and how we were able to get a very natural drum sound on the new Charred Walls of the Damned album!"

Charred Walls of the Damned release first single, details for new album
Cold Winds on Timeless Days to be released October 11th, 2011
Charred Walls of the Damned returns with the follow up to their critically acclaimed self-titled debut! Richard Christy, Tim "Ripper" Owens, Jason Suecof and Steve DiGiorgio once again join forces to bring to life Christy's latest body of work, Cold Winds on Timeless Days. The writing process for the new album actually began while the band was mixing their 2010 debut. Richard Christy used his experience on the first album to write songs that catered not only to each member's playing style, but to Jason Suecof's production style. The result: demos that turned out nearly identical to what ended up on the album.
With 12 songs clocking in at 58 minutes, fans are getting a lot more music this time around. Recording twelve songs in a short amount of time is no easy feat, but one that was accomplished because of the stellar talents in the band. Christy elaborates further; "I wanted to get a natural sound out of this album, I wanted everyone to be well rehearsed, not that I wanted the album to be rushed, but I wanted the spontaneous live feel and not over think anything too much." Richard Christy describes Cold Winds on Timeless Days as a "perfect storm of producing" – Audiohammer's Jason Suecof produced and Mark Lewis mixed, while mastering was handled by Alan Douches at West Westside.

Charred Walls Of The Damned's Richard Christy is a huge Powermad fan and adds, "I've been a huge Powermad fan since I first heard the classic album Absolute Power back in 1989. The song "Nice Dreams" has always been one of my favorite metal songs and I thought it was the perfect cover song for this band, a great way to showcase what an amazing lead guitar player Jason Suecof is, and a great way to pay tribute to one of my favorite underground metal bands. Hopefully some fans who aren't familiar with Powermad will hear this song and discover this great thrash metal band, and hopefully Powermad fans will enjoy hearing our take on the classic song "Nice Dreams"."

Richard Christy (Charred Walls Of The Damned, Death, Iced Earth) joined guest Rudy Sarzo on VH1's Classics That Metal Show on Saturday, March 20th at 11pm eastern. That Metal Show is hosted by metal personality/radio host Eddie Trunk, comedian Jim Florentine and Don Jamieson. Brian Slagel, Richard Christy and Tim “Ripper” Owens invade the SiriusXM studios!
SiriusXM subscribers will have a bunch of opportunities to hear three of metal’s best personalities on their radios on Monday, February 1st. The guys will swing by for an interview with Liquid Metal’s Jose Mangin, which will air on Tuesday, Februay 2nd every hour near the top of the hour from 4pm-9pm EST/1pm-6pm PST. The guys will also drop by Eddie Trunk’s show on the Boneyard around 6:30pm eastern. Finally, they will wrap up the evening (for radio interviews, anyway!) on Howard 100 on the Scott Ferrall Show. That interview will air sometime around 8pm eastern. Times are all tentative, so make sure to tune in early so you don’t miss the action.
On Friday of next week, Richard Christy will be LIVE on Bubba the Love Sponge around 11:40am eastern.

Charred Walls Of The Damned debut video for “Ghost Town” on Noisecreep.com!
Charred Walls Of The Damned is about to release their highly anticipated debut album on Metal Blade Records and have completed their first ever music video for the single, Ghost Town! The video is currently live on Noisecreep.com. All of the lyrics on the album were written by Richard Christy and Ghost Town in particular is a dark description of a near abandoned and “creepy” town that Richard grew up near in northeastern Oklahoma.

CHARRED WALLS OF THE DAMNED recorded a cover of the song Nice Dreams by the Minneapolis metal band Powermad as a bonus track for the Japanese release of the band’s debut album. US fans will have the chance to buy this track as well, as Nice Dreams will be made available on iTunes the day the album is released in the states, February 2nd 2010.
"I've been a huge fan of Powermad's classic 1989 album ‘Absolute Power’ since it came out. I wanted to do a cover song that I loved and at the same time, one that a lot of people probably have not heard. ‘Absolute Power’ has been out of print for some time now so I'm sure the song Nice Dreams will be new to a lot of people, but will also bring back some great memories for metalheads like me who love the song and who love Powermad" explains Christy.

As CHARRED WALLS OF THE DAMNED prepare for their self-titled debut album out February 2nd 2010 – the group is gearing up for their official release by unleashing a “radio spot” created by Richard Christy himself. The “radio spot” that is now being streamed via the band’s MySpace page features clips of the first single Ghost Town, taken from the band’s debut album, Charred Walls of the Damned.
"I am beyond excited about how the Charred Walls of the Damned album turned out. Tim, Steve and Jason all did an amazing job and I can't wait for people to hear it! The songs are super heavy and melodic at the same time, and I think my fellow Metalheads will be pumped when they hear the album" comments drummer and founding member Richard Christy.

CHARRED WALLS OF THE DAMNED was produced by Jason Suecof and recorded at his Orlando, FL based studio, Audiohammer Studios, and boasts an all-star lineup consisting of some of metal’s most talented musicians. Richard Christy, former drummer for Death and Iced Earth, comedian, and radio personality on the legendary Howard Stern Show on Sirius-XM Satellite Radio, on drums. Famed producer Jason Suecof who has produced and/or mixed some of the most prominent albums from metal’s leading bands, including: Trivium, All That Remains, The Black Dahlia Murder, Chimaira, DevilDriver and many, many more, on guitars. Tim "Ripper" Owens, who fronted heavy metal legends Judas Priest from 1996 to 2002, performed alongside Richard in Iced Earth from 2003 to 2004, and currently performs with Beyond Fear and Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force, on vocals. And one of metal’s most heralded bassists, Steve Digiorgio, who played alongside Richard in the bands Control Denied and Iced Earth, and has also performed with Death, Autopsy, Testament, Vintersorg, and is a founding member of technical thrash pioneers Sadus.
