The latest studio album from American death metal icons, CANNIBAL CORPSE sold approximately 9,594 copies in the United States in its first week landing the band at #38 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart, making it the highest debut in CANNIBAL CORPSE history! Torture landed at #7 on the Billboard Top Independent Album Chart, #4 on the Billboard Top Hard Music Albums chart and #32 Billboard Top Current Albums Chart.
In Canada, Torture ranked in at #29 on the Top 200 Current chart, #2 on the Hard Music chart and #90 on the Digital Album chart.
The record also slayed all in its path overseas, entertaining the German and Austrian Top 100 charts at #40, the German MSH charts (Media Markt and Saturn stores) at #33, Switzerland's Top 100 chart at #72, Sweden's Top 100 chart at #37, and Denmark's Top 100 chart at #84. Summer Slaughter Headlining Dates Revealed
After three long torturous years, death metal titans, CANNIBAL CORPSE, return to Australia for a sarcophagic frenzy of sordid and demented proportions! America's reigning kings of brutality, CANNIBAL CORPSE, will unleash their twelfth studio offering this March via Metal Blade Records. Aptly titled Torture, the follow-up to 2009's Evisceration Plague offers up 12 tracks of maniacally precise, soul-searing death metal. Torture was again produced by Hate Eternal's Erik Rutan at his own Mana Recording Studio in St. Petersburg, Florida as well as Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas, and features the maniacal cover art by longtime CANNIBAL CORPSE artist, Vincent Locke, viewable HERE.
While Torture marks the latest progression in the band's sound, it also witnesses a return to what drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz accurately terms "the frenzied attack of Butchered At Birth (1991) or Tomb Of The Mutilated (1992)," infusing the band's advanced musicianship with the raw savagery that haunted their earlier releases, and in the process conceiving the definitive CANNIBAL CORPSE record. Adds bassist Alex Webster on the outcome of the record: "We're extremely happy with how Torture turned out. Cannibal Corpse has begun recording their twelfth studio album at Sonic Ranch studios in Texas with producer Erik Rutan. The band has spent months writing the album and has recorded at Sonic Ranch in the past, but never with Rutan at the helm. More details on the album, including art, songs, title and more will be revealed in the months to follow. For now, the band is hard at work forging their next death metal offering.
Bassist Alex Webster adds: "After having spent the past 7 months writing and rehearsing new material, we're very excited to finally begin recording. We've had great success working with Erik Rutan on our past two albums so we've decided to work with him again, but to keep things fresh we decided on a change of location - we're returning to Sonic Ranch studios in Texas, where we've recorded several albums in the past. We are psyched to see how this combination works out- we feel it's pairing that could result in our best album yet."
Erik Rutan worked with Cannibal Corpse for both Kill (2006) and Evisceration Plague (2009) and is returning for a third time. Rutan explains further: "I am super excited to work with Cannibal Corpse for our 3rd album together. We are determined to make the best album we possibly can. Everyone is very focused and the new material is awesome. There is a great blend of classic, old school CC with a newer, more heavy, dynamic and aggressive approach. I look forward to the challenge of making one heavy as hell record!"
Cannibal Corpse's latest release, the Global Evisceration DVD, was released March of this year and contains nearly three hours of live and behind the scenes footage of the band as they travelled to 10 different countries in 18 days, three of which were countries the band had not previously played. The mighty Cannibal Corpse will once again be returning to Latin America! This time, they'll be bringing along label mates The Black Dahlia Murder as well as fellow underground heavyweights Suicide Silence to Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador and Venezuela in December. The tour will begin on December 3rd in Sao Paulo, Brazil and will wrap up on December 13th in Mexico City, Mexico.
South American fans are notoriously some of the most diehard metal heads in the world and the bands are excited for this tour to get started. Cannibal Corpse vocalist George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher comments on the tour: "In every interview, I am asked where the sickest and best death metal fans are and it is hands down South America. I've seen kids in the front row bleeding and losing their minds, they are all crazy in the best way possible. It's hands down my favorite place to play and I can't wait to come back!" Cannibal Corpse's Pat O'brien Will Step In As Slayer's Guest Guitarist
Cannibal Corpse guitarist Pat O'Brien will fill in for Exodus' Gary Holt when Holt leaves the Slayer European tour to play with his own band Exodus at the Estadio Nacional in Santiago, Chile on April 4. Holt has been filling in for Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman since the tour kicked off February 26 in Australia.
Holt's last show with Slayer will be April 4 in Padova, Italy; O'Brien will join the band for the April 6 show in Croatia, and will finish the European dates with Slayer that wrap up on April 14 in Holland.
Hanneman has amazed his doctors with his speedy recovery from an infection thought to have been caused by a spider bite. Following surgery on his right arm, he continues his physical therapy and has already been practicing with his guitar.

Florida's kings of death metal, CANNIBAL CORPSE, have landed the #17 spot on the Billboard Music Video Charts in the US and #5 on the Music Video Chart in Canada with their latest DVD release Global Evisceration, which came out March 15 via Metal Blade Records.
Global Evisceration was shot and edited by director Denise Korycki (Wild Wind Productions) who also shot and directed Centuries of Torment – The First 20 Years (entered the Billboard Music Video Charts at #8 in its 1st week of release!) in addition to DVD’s for bands like As I Lay Dying, Mastodon, Killswitch Engage, and Super Joint Ritual.

Death Metal legends CANNIBAL CORPSE have been added to the BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR 2010 line up. They will be flying in from Florida next summer for their first ever UK festival performance, which the band are eager to deliver.

Los Angeles, CA – September 10, 2009 – After finishing up a very successful run on this summer’s Rockstar Mayhem Festival tour, death-metal icons CANNIBAL CORPSE are now gearing up to hit the road again as a part of this fall’s Decimation of the Nation 2 Tour featuring CANNIBAL CORPSE as main support to Hatebreed. Supporting CANNIBAL CORPSE and Hatebreed on this month and a half trek across the US and Canada will be labelmates UNEARTH and HATE ETERNAL and Sumerian Records artist Born of Osiris. The Decimation of the Nation 2 Tour kicks off on November 6th at the House of Blues in Cleveland OH and finishes up December 20th in Philadelphia, PA. On the San Francisco and Los Angeles stops of the tour, the Decimation of the Nation 2 Tour will meet up with the Trivium, Chimaira, Whitechapel, and Dirge Within tour making it an all day metal event. Make sure to check with venues to see when doors are as these two shows will be starting early due to the amount of bands performing.

Los Angeles, CA – July 6, 2009 – Death-metal icons CANNIBAL CORPSE are issuing a limited-edition 96 page comic book exclusively at the Hot Topic booth on this summer’s Rockstar Mayhem Festival tour. Drawn entirely by Vince Locke, who illustrated the acclaimed graphic novel ‘A History of Violence’ and each of the band’s album covers, the Evisceration Plague comic graphically depicts a story for every song on the band’s album of the same name—arranged in order, no less. As an added bonus, each copy comes with a copy of the album.
“Vince Locke has done an incredible job turning our lyrics into blood-soaked and vicious illustrations for the Evisceration Plague comic book. He really has captured visually what we were trying convey lyrically.
