Believer release new single - confirmed to play New England Metal & Hardcore fest
The new track "Ego Machine" off Transhuman now live! Band set to play Saturday 16 at NEMF!
BELIEVER have just released the final single, Ego Machine, off their upcoming concept album Transhuman due out April 12! Check out Ego Machine, the track that is inspired by the work of Dr. Thomas Metzinger and his book "The Ego Tunnel," HERE. Fans can pre-order their copy of Transhuman at the same location where the album is available on its own or bundled with a t-shirt. Also available on the band’s pre-order page is a video that shows how the cover art came to be.
In other news, BELIEVER are confirmed to play the infamous New England Metal & Hardcore Festival taking place in Worcester Mass Thursday April 14 through Saturday April 16 at The Palladium. BELIEVER is set to play Saturday in the late afternoon so make sure you are there in time to catch the band in their first show for the new album Transhuman.
Transhuman track listing:
1 Lie Awake
2 G.U.T
3 Multiverse
4 End of Infinity
5 Transfection
6 Clean Room
7 Currents
8 Traveler
9 Ego Machine
10 Being No One
11 Entanglement
12 Mindsteps
Once again, BELIEVER tapped into the artistic genius of Michael Rosner and Eye Level Studio to produce the Transhuman artwork and layout. "We wanted to work with Roz again on Transhuman as our visions of combining art and music truly parallel. He just gets it and his artwork is outside the typical box in a way that we strive for musically. It is an amazing collaboration that we have with Roz that continues to evolve. We are excited for everyone to see the final layout!"
The band continues; "Sonically we're extremely happy with this album and can't wait for other people to hear it. We feel like this is a really strong and unique album in the BELIEVER catalogue and it's something we're definitely proud of.
So what will you hear? We focused more on the overall musicality which included more instrumental layers than we used before. The vocals were also more of a focus as we have had much feedback throughout the years, specifically to get out of the one dimensional realm. Kurt wanted the vocals to be more complimentary to the overall tune feel, so he used many facets of his vocal abilities. As with all Believer albums, this one is definitely unique."
Transhumanism: The study of the ramifications, promises, and potential dangers of technologies that will enable us to overcome fundamental human limitations, and the related study of the ethical matters involved in developing and using such technologies.
Immensely heavy, deceptively melodic, ambitiously daring, and brilliantly played. BELIEVER’S brand new concept album TRANSHUMAN available everywhere April 12!

The band adds, "Kevin Leaman (BELIEVER guitarist) recommended Kevin Gutierrez from Assembly Line Studios for mixing this record. Leaman had worked with Gutierrez previously and said that he was really easy to work with. From the first telephone conversation it was clear that Gutierrez understood exactly what we were looking for sonically and he seemed really interested in helping us achieve that."
"We let Kevin know we wanted this album to sound very musical; not just be heavy. We wanted to use the whole frequency range and not have all the mids scooped out so that everything going on in the tunes was audible. Most importantly, we wanted to keep the dynamics. We were a little nervous about not being there physically for the mix, but we spent so much time tweaking in the sounds for tracking that we were confident he had good stuff to work with. The rough mixes we made for ourselves already sounded pretty decent."
"Kevin was fast and efficient. He'd send us reference mixes as he completed each song and we'd be emailing/texting comments back and forth at all hours of the day and night. He was very responsive to our change requests and was really helpful in setting up the mastering session and communicating what we wanted to Maor Appelbaum of Maor Appelbaum Mastering. Maor also understood what we were trying to achieve with the dynamics and the overall listening experience we wanted to create on this album."

Believer finishes tracking for new album!
Believer has just finished tracking their second release for Metal Blade Records. The recording will be mixed by Kevin Gutierrez at Assembly Line Studios and produced by Trauma Team Productions. The band is once again pursuing new musical territory.
"We decided to bring back some of the orchestral feel of Dimensions by utilizing more layered guitars, keys and melody with different vocal arrangements. There is still the 'Believer' sound, but the musical progression continues for us." - Kurt Bachman
"We revamped our writing and recording process so that everyone could work at their peak times. We also spent a lot of time finding the right combinations of gear to achieve the sounds we wanted. Each Believer album has had its own sound that distinguishes it from the preceding album, and this project is no different in that respect. You still have the core elements that make it recognizable as Believer, but the guitar tone is heavier, the songs are tighter and musically it seems more refined." - Jeff King
Believer's Metal Blade debut, Gabriel, was released to rave reviews in 2009 and is available at these links: Amazon.com, iTunes.com
"Believer's adventurous breaks with past doctrine still make this comeback soar." Revolver Magazine
"it's almost as if they picked up right where they left off with their 1993 opus complexus, Dimensions - equal amounts sonic combustion and intellectual exploration for all and sundry." Decibel Magazine
"Gabriel is immensely heavy, deceptively melodic, ambitiously daring, and brilliantly played" Terrorizer Magazine
"Thinking man's thrash - far more welcomed than virtually any bunch of new-school wankers." Outburn Magazine

BELIEVER enter studio to record new album!
Reactivated late '80s/early '90s technical-thrash metallers BELIEVER recently entered the studio to begin recording their new album for a tentative early 2011 release.
Guitarist/vocalist Kurt Bachman comments, "The recording is going well for and the guitars, bass, drums are complete. We're working on vocals, keys and leads to finish this up over the next several weeks. Must say that we're excited about this one and hope you are also."
"Once we get a definitive release date we will let you know, but it will most likely be in the spring of 2011. We're hoping that this one is less pirated also so we can continue to do this for years to come."
The band's fourth album, "Gabriel", was released in March 2009 through KILLSWITCH ENGAGE frontman Howard Jones's new imprint label Cesspool Records via Metal Blade.
The CD featured guest appearances by Jones, Joe Rico (SACRIFICE), CKY/WORLD UNDER BLOOD guitarist/vocalist Deron Miller and Rocky Gray (EVANESCENCE, SOUL EMBRACED, LIVING SACRIFICE).

Believer Limited Edition "The Brave" T-Shirts Benefiting Breast Cancer Research
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and although there are more breast cancer survivors today than in the past due to numerous advances in science and medicine, many women still lose the fight. Approximately 180,000 (1 out of 8) women were diagnosed with breast cancer last year in the United States alone.
Believer and artist Michael Rosner (Eye Level Studio) have designed a limited edition shirt to sell during the month of October with proceeds being donated to breast cancer research. Please join Believer and Eye Level Studio in helping to find a cure and honor "The Brave" women who have battled or are currently battling this horrific disease.
http://www.believerband.net/merchandise.html
"Hello Everyone! KB here to talk about Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As many of you know, I am a cancer researcher. There are several people in my life who have been touched by this disease; some are survivors and some who were not as fortunate. I am therefore quite passionate about wiping out this horrible illness, as are many of my friends in the research community. We (Believer) have decided to release a limited time only T-shirt (girls and guys) to sell during the month of October with proceeds going to help fund ground-breaking cancer research at Johns Hopkins, where I earned my Ph.D. I know that Believer fans and metal fans in general will step up for this cause and we thank you in advance for your support. Please feel free to enter the name of someone during your purchase that you wish to honor with your donation and we will post a list on our sites to acknowledge your help with this fight.
With many thanks,
Kurt Bachmann"

BELIEVER releases second song off upcoming release Gabriel!
Los Angeles, CA – March 12th, 2009 – In honor of the upcoming release Gabriel, Pennsylvania based thrashers BELIEVER are releasing a second track ‘Stoned’ via the band's MySpace page. The highly anticipated release Gabriel will be available next week, March 17th, 2009 through Cesspool Recordings /Metal Blade Records.
"As we were mixing Stoned, the ripping old school death metal riff and locking into a groove felt great until we added the weird piano section. After repeated listens to this part during the mix, both Jeff and Kevin developed throbbing headaches and severe nausea. It must have been the odd, conflicting timing between the keys, guitars and drums totally screwing with their inner ears or something. Obviously Kurt and I felt great (not sure what that says about us), but I guess that’s what one might call ‘feeling the song’. Warning: Listening to this section over and over again may induce physical illness” states drummer Joey Daub.
Gabriel track listing:
1. Medwton
2. A Moment In Prime
3. Stoned
4. Redshift
5. History Of Decline
6. The Need For Conflict
7. Focused Lethality
8. Shut Out The Sun
9. The Brave
10. Nonsense Mediated Decay
Formed in the mid eighties, BELIEVER gained worldwide recognition for their boundary-breaking, artistic form of extreme metal as a part of Roadrunner Records prog-metal/thrash campaign "The Breed Beyond" alongside Cynic and Pestilence. After a long hiatus, BELIEVER is back with an intense fury and the band's new record, Gabriel, once again sees BELIEVER conquering new musical and artistic territory. With an upgraded sound and songwriting that has been alluded to as a "sick, insane cross between Tool, Voivod, NIN, and Destruction", Believer's 4th release Gabriel shows a band simply not focused on regurgitating and reliving their past. To this end, Bachman and Daub have surrounded themselves with new creative blood in keyboardist/programmer Jeff King, guitarist Kevin Leaman and bassist/programmer Elton Nestler. Securing a new home with legendary Metal Blade Records, BELIEVER is determined to win over fans of old and new with their brand of 'Believer-esque' metal.
