ALLEGAEON
"Fragments of Form and Function"
RELEASED: 07.20.2010
Allegaeon writing new record; set to record at Lambesis Studios with Daniel Castleman
Allegaeon is preparing to enter the studio to record their second album for Metal Blade, and the follow up to the highly rated Fragments of Form and Function. This time around, the guys will be heading to San Diego to record with immensely talented up-and-coming producer, Daniel Castleman at Lambesis Studios. The band plans to record this December.

Guitarist Ryan Glisan discusses recording and their drummer situation in the following update:
"First off, all of us here in the Allegaeon camp are happy to announce that we will be recording our follow-up to "Fragments of Form and Function" this December at Lambesis studios in San Diego, with Daniel Castleman, who has worked with such bands as As I lay Dying, Carnifex and Molotov Solution and we are excited to see what Daniel can do with our style.

All the songs are written and we are finishing up vocals and solos as we speak. What can you expect from our new album???? I think we can all say that this album is where we have wanted to be as a band for a long time, its fresh, super heavy, melodic, a ton of groove oriented old school style riffing, just as much blasting as down tempo beats and on a whole the album has very cohesive and consistent sound that mixes intensity with musicality, and as usual there's about a thousand solos haha. I think people will not necessarily hear what they are expecting to hear, but in a good way.

Second, we would like to announce that JP Andrade will be taking over on drums for our follow-up album and are excited to see what he can bring to Allegaeon. JP is as well versed in extreme death metal styles as he is with other styles such as rock and Jazz etc.

Other details about the album will be revealed in the following months leading up to its release next spring/summer. Stayed tuned for many studio videos, photos and announcements here soon."

Fans can check out JP Andrade's drum videos on youtube on his channel at http://www.youtube.com/XtremeDrummer14X. Also available on youtube are previews of solo sections from the upcoming Allegaeon album. The first two videos by Greg Burgess and Ryan Glisan can be seen HERE and HERE. Subscribe to http://www.youtube.com/allegaeon to keep up with the band's updates throughout the writing and recording process.

In other news, Allegaeon have partnered up with the BlkHeart Group as their official management team. Fans can keep up with news from their end at http://blkheartgroup.com/. Fans can look forward to many more updates, new merch, videos and tour announcements throughout the coming months.

Formed early in the summer of 2008, Allegaeon have come to the table with a dynamic, memorable and focused take on extreme melodic metal. There are just as many slow grooves and hook-laden riffs as blast beats. This is a band that focuses on song writing and less on making music into an athletic speed competition. Their music is rounded with an intellectual edge that's forged by the band's collective musical prowess and polished by Ezra Haynes' thought provoking lyrics. Outburn Magazine gave the band a 9 out of 10 rating and claims; "Fragments of Form and Function has it all: memorable songs, brutal delivery, stone cold groove, and accomplished playing. It is a good bet that the critics will dub Fragments of Form and Function one of the best modern metal albums of the year." While Metal Hammer Magazine calls Allegaeon "the new face of ruthless modern death metal… sheer, psychotic zeal." Allegaeon's debut full-length Fragments of Form and Function was released July 20th, 2010.

House of Blues Entertainment, Decibel Magazine, Metal Blade Records, IndieMerch, and Red/'stache Media team up for Metal, Arise! Tour
Bill Features Up And Coming Metal Artists

Debut Trek Will Include Stops In Los Angeles, New York And Other Major Cities

House of Blues Entertainment, Decibel Magazine, Metal Blade Records, IndieMerch and RED/'stache Media have joined forces to present the first ever Metal, Arise! Tour for developing metal artists, it was announced by Kelly Kapp, vice president, House of Blues Entertainment. The debut tour will feature Metal Blade Recording Artists Allegaeon, Earache Recording Artists The Browning and Century Media Recording Artists The Devastated.

"We are really proud and excited to team up with Decibel, Metal Blade, IndieMerch & RED," Kapp said. "This is a tour that will pair developing metal bands and great local artists. We feel we can create a circuit that benefits metal artists throughout the country. We hope to grow Metal, Arise! into a quarterly tour so we can continue to cultivate great heavy metal talent."

Kelli Malella, vice president, publicity & advertising, Metal Blade Records, said, "When Kelly first brought up the idea of a tour to help develop new metal bands in the states, I immediately wanted to be involved. And not just for the sake of my own bands trying to launch their careers, but for all the bands out there just trying to get a break and land a U.S. tour. The Metal, Arise! Tour has been created by people who truly love our scene and want to give new bands the chance to tour the U.S. and prove themselves to metalheads across the states. The Metal, Arise! Tour also gives local bands the chance to showcase their talents while giving them a shot at getting noticed by labels who are constantly keeping an ear to the ground for up-and-coming local acts to sign. We're keeping ticket costs as low as possible in hopes that you, the fans, will give these bands a chance and check them out."

Here's what the bands have to say about their involvement on the inaugural Metal, Arise! Tour:

"We're all really excited for the announcement of the Metal, Arise! Tour. The majority of the dates are in cities we haven't yet had the pleasure of playing. With all the venues being as reputable as they are and it being a tour with companies such as Live Nation, IndieMerchCo and the labels backing it, there couldn't be a better tour for us to be a part of at the moment." Allegaeon

"I think a lot of kids are going to be excited about seeing us and the other bands on the tour. We're three new bands who all bring something to the table that's going to make for a killer show. It's going to be the sort of tour where kids can discover new bands and proudly say: 'I saw them back then!'" The Devastated

"It's a pleasure and an honor for The Browning to be featured on The Metal, Arise! Tour! What a great opportunity for us to be performing alongside such amazing talent and working with some awesome companies in the industry. We can't wait to get out there and show the metal community what we're made of, meet some new people, and broaden our fan base. We're coming for you!" The Browning

About the Groups Formed in early-summer 2008, Allegaeon have come to the table with a dynamic, memorable and focused take on extreme melodic metal.

In what could be described as nothing short of "adventurous,'" The Browning's music takes influences from all across the metal spectrum and heavily fuses them with hardstyle, trance and other areas of electronic music in a way that most metal acts would not dare attempt. The band pushes boundaries and pushes buttons. In short, when it comes to The Browning, TheNewReview.net put it best when they said "the soundtrack to the apocalypse has arrived."
The Browning's debut full-length entitled Burn This World will be out on Earache Records this fall. The Browning currently have two digital EPs available on iTunes.

Featuring former members of Impending Doom, Bleeding Through and Oblige, The Devastated have grown up in the same "Inland Empire" area of Southern California that's spawned the likes of Suicide Silence, Winds of Plague and a host of others. However, their musical mission has been to carve out their own niche with their brand of catchy yet absurdly heavy music they term "grimy and gross." Now with the band's Century Media debut Devil's Messenger, they went for a sound that's not only "real" – like you're standing in the same room with the them– but also "really ugly." Produced by the band with Chris Eck with co-production and mix by Daniel Castleman (best known for his work with As I Lay Dying), Devil's Messenger Digital Single will be available August 2.

Tickets go on sale Friday, June 24. More information on tickets may be found at HouseofBlues.com.

"Allegaeon seem to have mastered the art of holding back from too many indulgent displays of fret-melting wizardry, preferring to use their self-evident technical prowess sparingly and enhancing its impact as a result. When everything gels, Allegaeon sound like real contenders." Metal Hammer Magazine

"Their style and talent are producing some of the more technically appealing melodic death metal coming out of anywhere in the U.S." Hails & Horns Magazine

"Fragments of Form and Function has it all: memorable songs, brutal delivery, stone cold groove, and accomplished playing. It is a good bet that the critics will dub Fragments of Form and Function one of the best modern metal albums of the year." 9/10, Outburn Magazine

"This is, without a doubt, one of the best debut albums ever made. The first full-length effort from Allegaeon is a fluid blend of technical and melodic death metal that most first attempts can’t even touch. Even greater things seem inevitable from this band." idsnews.com

"Allegaeon deserves your immediate attention." PopMatters.com

"The vocals are comparable to Randy Blythe from Lamb of God, as well as some of the instrumental aspects. There are Dream Theater sections of solo after mind-blowing solo, and some parts reminiscent of Killswitch Engage. There is something about life, philosophy, and this world that can be learned just by listening, and that is not something we come by frequently." Blistering.com

"Normally I think fret-jumping riffs and sweeps are something that should be dialed back, but when the band have material like these to sink their teeth into, listening to them gnaw it down to the bone is often thrilling." MetalSucks.net

ALLEGAEON confirms tour dates in August to promote "Fragments Of Form And Function"!
Colorado's premiere metal band will be hitting the road for a string of dates later this month. The dates start on August 19th in Amarillo, TX and wrap up on August 28th in Greeley, CO. These are the first of many tour dates the band will be scheduling in support of their Metal Blade Records debut album, Fragments Of Form And Function. More dates are currently in the works and will see Allegaeon heading to many cities and states for the first time.

Fragments has received overwhelmingly positive reviews from press and fans alike, and Allegaeon's live show is not to miss, as exhibited in a number of live videos on the band's youtube channel HERE and MetalBlade.tv HERE.

"The noteworthy elements of the band show up almost immediately: a great sense of songwriting and incredible musicianship all around, particularly lightning-fingered guitarists Ryan Glisan and Greg Burgess." MetalSucks.net

"Allegaeon burst forth with a vicious technical death metal assault. Upon first listen they reminded me of Boston's Revocation, Montreal's Martyr, and Sweden's Anata. All these bands combine brutality with precision playing for their own unique brand of tech-death, but share the common vein of being able to write actual songs amidst all the shred." 4.5/5, TheNewReview.net

About the band:
ALLEGAEON is an amalgamation of several incredibly talented individuals. This can be said of many, many metal bands, but not as many have the tangible achievements to stake their claims. Greg Burgess is a classically trained guitarist with a degree from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, he spent five years as the guitar instructor at the Music Institute of Lexington, and was the first instructor at the Denver branch of Paul Green's School Of Rock. Drummer Jordon Belfast participated in Sick Drummer Magazine's "Blast Off" competition in March of 2008 and was one of the top placed drummers by the competition's end. He's been a featured drummer on the site ever since. The group is rounded out by founding member and killer guitarist in his own right, Ryan Glisan, bassist Corey Archuleta, and vocalist/lyricist, Ezra Haynes.

With a genre stuffed to the brim with countless copy cats and pretenders, ALLEGAEON have come to the table with a dynamic, memorable and focused take on extreme melodic metal. You'll find just as many slow grooves and hook-laden riffs as you will blast beats. This is a band that focuses on song writing and less on making music into an athletic speed competition. Their music is rounded with an intellectual edge that's forged by the band's collective musical prowess and polished by Ezra Haynes' thought provoking lyrics.

Allegaeon to support Fear Factory, Winds Of Plague in Colorado; set to wrap up work on "Fragments Of Form and Function"
Allegaeon is currently finishing work on their Metal Blade debut, Fragments Of Form And Function, with producer Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage) at Flatline Audio. Finishing an album hasn't quelled their drive to continuously be playing shows, however, as they've recently been added as a support band to the Fort Collins, CO stop of the Fear Factory and Winds Of Plague tour.

Vocalist Ezra Haynes offers up the latest update: "Well, The record is just about done. We've been listening to rough mixes and I think it's safe to say that we're all pretty pleased with what it has been molded into so far. You can tell that every member of Allegaeon and the overall product being "Fragments of Form and Function" has matured greatly since our EP release in 2008 and believe it or not "Fragments of Form and Function" is a hell of a lot heavier. Everyone has stepped up tremendously, it's loaded with groove, shred, blast beats and I feel my vocal performance is my best to date. We are all extremely stoked for the world to hear this album and we can't wait to hit the road this Summer in support of it."

Allegaeon has posted the first video in series of video studio updates to MetalBlade.tv. The video can be seen HERE.

Metal Blade Records signs Colorado’s Allegaeon!
Colorado's ALLEGAEON (pronounced: uh-lee-juhn) has joined forces with Metal Blade Records! Formed in early-summer 2008, with the release of their self-titled EP immediately following, ALLEGAEON has quickly spread their brand extreme metal locally, nationally and internationally, with many accolades from fans. Their 2008 EP was produced by local studio magic man Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage, Martriden, Cobalt). With only 4 songs, ALLEGAEON managed to captivate an entire new legion of dedicated supporters worldwide and with a live show that is as engaging as any, are sure to win over many more fans to come.

The band comments: “We all are super stoked to be a part of this legendary label. Metal Blade to us is the past, present and future of metal. With new tunes that will be equally crushing and catchy, we look forward to producing an album that will most definitely turn heads."

With a genre stuffed to the brim with countless copy cats and pretenders, ALLEGAEON have come to the table with a dynamic, memorable and focused take on extreme melodic metal. You’ll find just as many slow grooves and hook-laden riffs as you will blast beats. This is a band that focuses on song writing and less on making music into an athletic speed competition. Their music is rounded with an intellectual edge that’s forged by the band’s collective musical prowess and polished by Ezra Hayne’s thought provoking lyrics. Once again, Denver’s own Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage, Martriden, Cobalt) will be at the production helm for their Metal Blade debut, which is slated for sometime in the second quarter of 2010.

The band has recently released their video for Nex Of Terra from their 4 song EP, so make sure to check that out on the band’s youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/ALLEGAEON
