KING OF ASGARD haben ihr neues Album '…To North' im Kasten! '…To North' erscheint im Juli!
Die schwedischen Viking Metaller KING OF ASGARD haben 2010 mit ihrem Debüt Fi'mbulvintr die Szene von hinten aufgerollt. Nach ein paar Festivals und Clubshows in den letzten beiden Jahren haben sie nun ihr zweites Album …To North in den allseits bekannten Sonic Train Studios zusammen mit Andy LaRocque (KING DIAMOND) aufgenommen.
Bassist Jonas Albrektsson über die Aufnahmen und das neue Werk …To North: "The "…To North" master just arrived and it sounds astonishing! Andy LaRocque made a great job on the production and the mastering along with Olof Berggren. It's upright and powerful. We feel very proud of what we achieved on this recording and merely the sound of it makes it a worthy follow-up to the firstborn "Fi'mbulvintr". Songs and sounds came out much as of what we planned, with power and a great variety. "…To North" takes off pretty much where "Fi'mbulvintr" left off so to say, with a natural development, more varied songs and structures. It's a development of our sound which will be recognized by old fans as well as bring some new ones to the horde. This time around I've been more involved in the writing process along with Karl, which kind of shines through, giving the songs a wider perspective. Expect some very strong songs on "…To North", where epic meets with brutality!
The lyrical theme this time is basically in the same vein but has different twists. Not as obvious as before. "…To North" will make The Nine Worlds Burn… and Varberg was just left behind."

Die schwedischen Viking Metaller von KING OF ASGARD haben mit ihrem grandiosen Debüt Fi'mbulvintr 2010 gehörig Staub in der Szene aufgewirbelt. Nach ein paar Festivals und Clubshows in den Jahren 2010 und 2011, werden KING OF ASGARD heute das Studio entern, um das zweite Album einzuspielen. Die Aufnahmen finden abermals in den Sonic Train Studios unter der Regie von Andy LaRocque (KING DIAMOND) statt.
Das neue KING OF ASGARD Album wird …To North heißen und ist der erste Longplayer, auf welchem den neue, zweite Gitarrist Lars Tängmark zu hören sein wird.
KING OF ASGARD: "Finally! We're very satisfied with the material we've written and everything is finished for recording. Getting together with Andy at Sonic Train Studio again will be great. Second round with our brother in arms. We're really looking forward to see where this is heading. Viking Metaller KING OF ASGARD nehmen im März neues Album auf!
Die schwedischen Viking Metaller von KING OF ASGARD haben mit ihrem grandiosen Debüt Fi'mbulvintr 2010 gehörig Staub in der Szene aufgewirbelt. Nach ein paar Festivals und Clubshows in den Jahren 2010 und 2011 schreiben KING OF ASGARD nun fieberhaft an neuen Songs!
Das Songwriting liegt in den letzten Zügen, auch wenn noch einiges zu tun ist. Die Aufnahmen werden, wie schon beim Vorgänger, in den Sonic Train Studios zusammen mit Produzent Andy LaRocque über die Bühne gehen.
Die Band über den aktuellen Stand der Dinge: "We're glad to get back there in early March and to get some new stuff on tape. This also being the first time recording with Lars on guitar.
The material for this coming release is a natural step forward for KING OF ASGARD. It differs quite a lot though the foundation of our musical roots still are very present. A natural progression of the sounds on 'Fi'mbulvintr'! Song titles include 'Gap OfGinnungs' and 'Plague-ridden Rebirth'!"

Die schwedischen Viking/Death Metal-Krieger KING OF ASGARD heißen Lars Tängmark als zweiten Gitarristen in ihren Reihen herzlich willkommen.
Ein Statement der Band: "KING OF ASGARD are proud to announce the recruit of new second guitarist Lars Tängmark! He made his first public appearance at the release party held a few weeks ago. This was our first ever live performance, a fantastic night worth to remember. Thanks to all allied that attended! "The "Einhärjar" music video was recorded in July 2010, directed by Richard Moneus, the driving force behind the production company 1897. It was shot in an old dirty barn at a location just outside where we live. Spending what felt like ages in the long time kept dust was well worth the sweat and blood. After the barn battleground Richard took care of the hard work to cut, edit and piece it all together in a functioning symbiosis. Now, viewing the final result we are extremely proud of how good this video turned out. Hell Richard!"

Über NIGHTFALL:
Seit Bandgründung im Jahre 1990 ging es Frontmann und Chefdenker Efthimis Karadimas darum, stetig die musikalischen Grenzen der Band zu erweitern. Nach ein paar Veränderungen im Line-up hat hat er sein musikalisches Vehikel mit einer frischen Mannschaft von Co-Piloten neu zusammengestellt und Astron Black and the Thirty Tyrants fertig gestellt. Sogar erstmals mit internationaler Beteiligung: Der deutsche Drummer Jörg Uken (der kreative Kopf der deutschen Soundlodge Studios) bringt seinen Thrash n' Death-Stil ins Songwriting mit ein und kümmert sich zusätzlich um die Produktion. Keyboarder Stathis Kassios sorgt für einen Tastenteppich, der durch seine harmonische Akzentuierung die Musik von NIGHTFALL auf noch nie betretenes Land führt. Zu guter Letzt liefert der amerikanische Gitarrist Evan Hensley aggressives, präzises Riffing und melodische Leads ab, die reich an Emotionen sind. The arrangements are well thought through and the vocal tracks being laid down with a lot of thought behind. The production has a somewhat organic sound to it, simple and raw, yet allowing everything shine through and bring the production to it's full justice. Recording, mixing and mastering took place at Sonic Train Studios, so we've had eyes and ears to it all the way, along with the great support and professionalism from Andy LaRocque. So with all efforts put down in this we are very proud and anxious to get this out and see from where to start."

Die schwedischen Viking Folk Death Metaller KING OF ASGARD haben das Frontcover und die Tracklist ihres am 13. bzw. 16. August in Europa erscheinenden Debütalbums 'Fi'mbulvintr' veröffentlicht.
O-Ton KING OF ASGARD: "Fi'mbulvintr is upon us! Fi'mbulvintr is upon Thee! The winter of three is near and with that comes the first born of King of Asgard. We are very pleased with what we've achieved in all aspects of this coming album. The whole production is really in the face, much thanks to Andy who easily understood us, getting the brutal and bombastic sound we wanted. Musically we're talking a blend of dark folk, death metal and so forth. Much reflected by our musical past. Straight forward, hard-hitting vs melody and settled melancholy. The lyrical approach comes mainly in ancestral portraits, norse mythology, viking sagas and myths with the reflection of our personal ideals and touch. Three of them visited by guest Mr. Stefan Weinerhall. So this will surely be a package well worth to pick up. We hardly could have done this debut better, completed with the great artwork by Ola Larsson. It's cold, it's cold but we're heading home by the sounds that honour the Gods, by the sounds that trample the traitor!"

KING OF ASGARD wurden im Jahre 2008 von Karl Beckman (ex-Mithotyn) gegründet, nachdem er seine anderen musikalischen Projekte aufgekündigt hatte und sich stattdessen mit seinem lange untergetauchten Kumpel Karsten Larsson (Falconer, ex-Mithotyn) zusammentat. Sie entschieden sich, zu ihren musikalischen Wurzeln zurückzukehren und auf textlicher Ebene ihr nordisches Erbe zu verarbeiten. Ende 2009 stieß J. Albrektsson am Bass hinzu.

Die schwedischen Viking Death Metal Newcomer KING OF ASGARD – bestehend aus (ex)-Mitgliedern von MITHOTYN, FALCONER und DAWN – sind derzeit mit den Aufnahmen zu ihrem Debütalbum im Sonic Train Studio von King Diamond Gitarrist Andy LaRocque beschäftigt.
Hier ein Update der Band “The debut is taking shape at Sonic Train Studios. As for now the drums, rhythm guitars and bass are finished. Today the focus will be set on lead guitars and some sound mixing of drums. So it's been a busy stay for now and many working hours, but surely it'll be worth the struggle. The firstborn is on it's way…We're heading home for a two day break…we'll be back soon. Stay tuned!”

Metal Blade Records geben hiermit das Signing der schwedischen Viking Folk/Death Metal Band KING OF ASGARD für Europa bekannt.
KING OF ASGARD wurden im Jahre 2008 von Karl Beckman gegründet, nachdem er seine anderen musikalischen Projekte aufgelöst hatte. Er tat sich mit seinem lange verschollenen alten Komplizen Karsten Larsson (FALCONER) zusammen, mit dem er schon gemeinsam in der Wikingerhorde Mithotyn gewütet hatte. Nach jahrelanger Trennung war schnell klar, dass beide zurück zu ihren Wurzeln gehen wollten. Sowohl musikalisch als auch textlich, was sich auf das nordische Erbe bezieht, welches sie in ihren Texten weitertragen.
Die Kreativität schoß nur so aus ihnen heraus und eine Vielzahl an Stücken wurde geschrieben. 2009 begaben sich KING OF ASGARD schließlich ins Lotang Studio, um dort ihr erstes Demo, den 7-Tracker 'Prince Of Märings', einzuspielen, mit welchem man den Metal Blade Deal perfekt machte. Ende 2009 stieß noch J. Albrektsson zu den beiden hinzu und machte das Line-up komplett.
Momentan nehmen KING OF ASGARD ihr noch unbetiteltes Debütalbum in den Sonic Train Studios mit Andy La Rocque (KING DIAMOND) an den Reglern auf. Ziel der Band ist es, das Studio mit zwölf schwer nach Folk müffelnden Songs, die tief im Extrem-Metal wurzeln und die alten Zeiten heraufbeschwören, zu verlassen.
KING OF ASGARD kommentieren den Metal Blade Deal wie folgt: "King of Asgard are very proud being signed under the banners of Metal Blade Records. Releasing records under such influential label will be an honour and we feel our future collaboration will be nothing but grandiose. We are very keen on seeing what this can bring us. So teaming up with Brian, Andreas and the rest of the Blade-staff is something we're easily throwing ourselves into and we're eagerly devoted on getting our debut out and heads rolling. Lets see if we can create a winter of three!"
