Nach Veröffentlichung von Revisions und diversen Tourneen mit Porcupine Tree sowie Dream Theater, Opeth und Between the Buried and Me im Rahmen der Progressive Nation Tour, kehrten 3 mit sprudelnder Inspiration nach Hause zurück. Joey Eppard, Billy Riker, Daniel Grimsland und The Gartdrumm begannen unverzüglich mit Demoaufnahmen ihrer Ideen, die schließlich zu The Ghost You Gave To Me führten. Es dauerte gar nicht lange, bis die Songs ein Eigenleben entwickelten. 3 veränderten sich dabei raus aus dem klassischen Schema eines Rocksongs und hin zu einem cineastischen Format. Joey Eppard meint dazu: "The songs told us where to go and the instrumentation followed. We knew this record would be our most progressive but it would be on our terms, and in our own way. As always songwriting and melody are the driving forces behind the sounds capes we generate. I think the biggest challenge was to rise to the occasion lyrically with so many musical scene changes. What I found was that I had to let go and allow the words and melody to be as creative and original as the music, if not more so. In a progressive situation this can be time consuming and indeed the bulk of my efforts were focused on exceeding my own lyrical standards. For example, "Only Child," an eight minute epic that traverses a myriad of musical scenes has enough great lyrics for half a record."

Die aus Woodstock im Staate New York stammenden 3 sind derzeit eine der innovativsten Rockbands des Planeten und umso schöner ist es, dass 3 einen neuen Vertrag bei Metal Blade unterzeichnet haben!
3 sind derzeit mit den Arbeiten an ihrem neuen Album beschäftigt, um den bisher bei Metal Blade erschienenen Scheiben Wake Pig (2005), The End Is Begun (2007) und Revisions (2009) ein viertes hinzuzufügen.
3's komplette Discographie enthält bereits Longplayer aus einer ganzen Dekade, denn vor ihren Metal Blade Jahren haben sie Paint By Number (1999) und Summercamp Nightmare (2003) veröffentlicht. Im Laufe ihrer Karriere sind 3 mit Größen wie den Scorpions, Porcupine Tree, Dream Theater, Opeth, Between The Buried And Me und vielen anderen getourt!
Mainman Joey Eppard kommentiert den neuen Deal und die Arbeiten am kommenden Album wie folgt: "We are well on our way to making our greatest 3 album yet. After looking at several horrific offers from other labels, we decided to continue with Metal Blade Records because they actually care about our music and truly believe in what we do. We were tossing around the idea of releasing it one song at a time, each with a video. Basically like episodes. Let us know what you think."

Rabid Animals, der neue Videoclip der Progressive Melodic Rocker 3, erlebt sein weltweites Debüt diese Woche auf SputnikMusic.com. Die Band wird bei dieser Livepremiere mit dabei sein und für alle teilnehmenden Fans im Onlinechat zur Verfügung stehen. Im direkten Anschluß an den Chat erfolgt die Premiere. Einige von euch haben den livehaftigen Videoshoot am 19. Revisions ist der Titel des neuen THREE Albums, welches, wie die Band selbst sagt, eine Zusammenstellung alter Songs ist, welche neu eingespielt wurden. O-Ton: “It´s a collection that taps the rich history of 3 by re-examining some of the earlier songs that made us who we are today. Some of them are known from early live bootlegs, others existed only on cassette and were transferred to the internet by dedicated fans. In any event, these are songs that we felt deserved a second chance, a “revision” if you will. Our passion for music is truly the common thread that binds our diverse body of work.”

[03/09/09] Die amerikanischen Progster THREE veröffentlichen ihr neues Album Revisions am 23. bzw. 26. Oktober 2009 über Metal Blade Records in Europa!

"3 has always been a band apart. We've never been afraid to follow the artistic impulse, whether it has lead us to genre bending progressive experimentation, or, as in the case of ‘Revisions’, drawn us into a world defined more by melody and lyric than by instrumental prowess. It goes without saying that our goal has always been to create a symbiosis between these qualities, but on this record we find the poles have shifted in favor of the singer-songwriter element of what we do. This collection taps the rich history of 3 by reexamining some of the earlier songs that made us who we are today. Some of them are known from early live bootlegs, others existed only on cassette and were transferred to the internet by dedicated fans who somehow dug them up (possibly out of my garage). In any event, these are songs that we felt deserved a second chance, a "revision," if you will. Our passion for music is truly the common thread that binds our diverse body of work!"
