Between The Buried And Me Land Best Billboard Debut In Band History
THE PARALLAX II: FUTURE SEQUENCE ENTERS TOP 200 AT #22, #3 ON HARD MUSIC CHART AND TOP 10 RELEASE ON INDIE CHARTS

Between The Buried And Me's ambitious concept album, The Parallax II: Future Sequence, gave the North Carolina-based band their highest one week sales figure and Billboard chart position (17,102 and #22 respectively) since the band's inception in the early 2000's.

The band, who are currently in Gothenburg, Sweden expressed their appreciation: "We are extremely grateful for everyone sticking with us all these years; through all the epic journeys we've put you through, all the style changes and the crazy storylines… you've blown us away and we couldn't be any more excited and thankful."

The album also landed the #3 spot on Billboard's Hard Music Album chart, as well as #8 on the trade magazine's Rock Album Chart. Additionally, The Parallax II charted at #5 on Billboard's Indie Label Album chart and at #10 on the Billboard Indie Retail Album chart. Previously, Between The Buried And Me's highest charting release was the 2009 release of The Great Misdirect, which entered Billboard at #36.

Internationally the band and their brilliant album fared equally well, taking the #1 spot on iTunes Canada's Metal chart upon release and landing at the #5 spot on the Billboard's Canadian Hard Music Chart (#46 on the nation's Top 200 Album chart). In the UK, The Parallax II debuted at #15 on the Rock/Metal Chart and at #30 on the country's Indie Chart. Lastly, in Germany, Between The Buried And Me took the #6 spot on the German Newcomer Chart (as well as #102 on the German Trend Chart).

Alternative Press said the band "continue to dominate progressive metal" with the new album, adding they are "expanding on every already-top-notch aspect" of their previous releases. Spin said The Parallax II is "a 72-minute space voyage that feels like a conceptual odyssey," Metal Sucks dubbed it a "masterpiece, Outburn called the release "otherworldly" and Loudwire described the album as "quintessentially brilliant."

The Parallax II, recorded during the Spring of 2012 at The Basement Studios in Winston-Salem, N.C., was once again produced by the band and longtime creative partner Jamie King. This is Between The Buried And Me's first full-length release on Metal Blade Records, preceded by The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues, an EP that began the story of the two characters: Prospect I and Prospect II. A video for "Astral Body," the first single from The Parallax II, gives fans their first look at the two characters in a visually-stunning clip.

The band is currently touring Europe with a trek across Japan, Australia and New Zealand to follow. A North American tour will be announced soon.

Between the Buried and Me's The Parallax II: Future Sequence Available Today
BAND EXPERIENCES MINOR BUS FIRE IN ENGLAND

Between The Buried And Me's critically-lauded, 72-minute opus, The Parallax II: Future Sequence, is available today via Metal Blade Records.

Between The Buried And Me's bus caught fire this morning in England. There are no injuries and no equipment was damaged. There is no effect on the band's tour. Tour manager Courtney Warner adds: "As of now, we are at a service area awaiting transportation to a hotel. A new bus is on its way. We shouldn't miss any shows because of this. All gear, luggage, personal items and most importantly, people, are all good. We just stink like smoke."

Paul Waggoner elaborates: "Fuel line done broke. Dadgum flame come shootin out. Peeewwww eeehhhhh sometin' stank. Crazy British feller come hollerin, "Bus on fire, ya'll git." Climb up the ol' hill barefoot and look back at them flames shootin sky high. Firemen folk come rushin up real quick like and squirt that fire plum out. It was lucky nobody was hurt, not even a stubbed toe. Luggage stank like a Mississippi cow pie on a mid-July heat.

Hopefull, come tomorra, a new horse n' buggy come. We'll giddy on up to Belgium town for a good ol' fashioned hootnanny.

Whoo-Doggies!!!"

The 12-track album was described by Tommy Rogers (vocals, keyboards) as: "A conceptual journey that takes the listener to worlds that seem familiar and worlds that make you scratch your head." The band's 2011 predecessor, The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues EP, laid the groundwork for the story behind the Parallax releases, Prospect I and Prospect II.

Loudwire described The Parallax II as "quintessentially brilliant," while awarding the release a perfect score. Alternative Press said the band "continue to dominate progressive metal" and are musically "expanding on every already-top-notch aspect." Outburn called the album "otherworldly," while Decibel added that BTBAM are "one of progressive metal's most singular, unique and genuinely progressive bands."

A number of aural and visual clips have been released leading up to the release with the most recent addition audio clips from the entire release, which can be found here: http://youtu.be/HFTbp3UFmyE. The band has also released a stunning, effects laden video for "Astral Body": http://youtu.be/u8Q9DknFFuM and a series of instructional videos (guitar, bass and drums) for "Telos": http://youtu.be/qQZmTXCSO00.

Between The Buried And Me Announce Japanese, Australian, And New Zealand Tour Dates
Between The Buried And Me have confirmed a fall tour spanning Japan, Australia and New Zealand with the kick-off date on Nov. 8 in Osaka, Japan.

The announcement comes as the Charlotte, North Carolina band are in the midst of a North American tour, co-headlining Summer Slaughter with a handful of headlining dates later this month. Between The Buried And Me follow the U.S. dates with an extensive European tour, which begins on Oct. 1 in Reading.

The Parallax II: Future Sequence marks the quintet's most ambitious release to date and their first-full length release on Metal Blade arrives on Oct. 9. The 12-track, conceptual release was described by Tommy Rogers (vocals, keyboards) as: "A conceptual journey that takes the listener to worlds that seem familiar and worlds that make you scratch your head. From start to finish this is music we want to create, not music we think people want us to create. We create songs that keep us (and hopefully you) excited about heavy music." The first single from the release, "Telos," can be streamed at www.metalblade.com/btbam.

Between The Buried And Me have sold in excess of 400,000 records since their 2002 self-titled debut. "The group's ability to layer long, melodic arcs over squibs of dissonance has never been more surgical and soulful," said Alternative Press of the band's prequel to The Parallax II (2011 EP The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues). Revolver described the set as "a cohesive piece of art" and added "Between The Buried And Me are on a level of songwriting skill that few bands hope to reach…"

The Parallax II: Future Sequence, which clocks in at approximately 72 minutes, features artwork from Charlotte, North Carolina artist and designer Chandler Owen (Underoath, Shai Hulud, and Hopesfall). The group – TOMMY ROGERS (vocals / keyboards), PAUL WAGGONER (guitar), DUSTIE WARING (guitar), BLAKE RICHARDSON (drums / percussion) DAN BRIGGS (bass) - are currently touring as direct support to Cannibal Corpse on The Summer Slaughter Tour 2012, which kicked off with a sold out show at the House of Blues in Hollywood on July 20th.

Regarding the concept of The Parallax II: Future Sequence, the new full-length album picks up where the 2011 EP, The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues, left off. "The two main characters of the story take on a journey through space and time with the unenviable task of having to cure the flaws of humanity by any means necessary. While the EP served mostly as an introduction to the characters, Future Sequence contains the action of the story. The lyrics are written in the stream of consciousness style, which really helps to capture the perspective and emotion of the characters. We really enjoyed the challenge of writing this record, and I think we were all pleasantly surprised with how well the music and lyrics jived with one another. I couldn't be happier with how Future Sequence turned out," comments guitarist Paul Waggoner.

Vocalist and keyboardist Tommy Rogers adds his thoughts on the musical direction of The Parallax II: Future Sequence. "This album is BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME on steroids. I feel like we have created an album that perfectly mirrors the band we've been trying to create since day one. An album that has sounds that will stimulate many genres and music fans alike. A conceptual journey that takes the listener to worlds that seem familiar and worlds that make you scratch your head. From start to finish this is music we want to create, not music we think people want us to create. We create songs that keep us (and hopefully you) excited about heavy music. Keep listening… something new will be there each time. Enjoy the music… we enjoyed writing it."

BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME debut album art and announce street date
New album "The Parallax II: Future Sequence" set for release October 9 on Metal Blade Records

Globally celebrated progressive rock / cutting-edge metal innovators BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME (aka BTBAM) has announced the name of the upcoming full-length album as The Parallax II: Future Sequence. The new album, which clocks in at approximately 72 minutes, will be released October 9 and features artwork from Charlotte, North Carolina artist and designer Chandler Owen (Underoath, Shai Hulud, and Hopesfall). The group - TOMMY ROGERS (vocals / keyboards), PAUL WAGGONER (guitar), DUSTIE WARING (guitar), BLAKE RICHARDSON (drums / percussion) DAN BRIGGS (bass) - are currently preparing for their direct support slot on the Summer Slaughter tour that kicks off in Los Angeles, CA at the House of Blues on Friday, July 20.

The Parallax II: Future Sequence was recorded at The Basement Studios in Winston-Salem, NC with longtime friend of the band and producer Jamie King. Jamie engineered, mixed and mastered The Parallax II: Future Sequence, which makes this the sixth release Jamie and BTBAM have worked together on.

From start to finish this is music we want to create, not music we think people want us to create. We create songs that keep us (and hopefully you) excited about heavy music. Keep listening… something new will be there each time. Enjoy the music… we enjoyed writing it."

The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues (released 4/12/11) is a three-song strong, 30-minute tour de force of modern heavy music. Produced and engineered by the Grammy award–winning David Bottrill (Tool, Muse, King Crimson, Dream Theater, etc.) with BTBAM, the record soared to #54 on the Billboard Top 200 chart in its first week of release while landing the #5 spot on the Hard Music chart, and #8 on the Independent Albums chart in its first week of release. The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues also debuted in Canada charting at #62 on the Top 200 Current chart, #6 on the Hard chart, and #14 on the Independent chart.

Catch BTBAM this summer as they tour the North America as a part of the Summer Slaughter tour featuring Cannibal Corpse, The Faceless, Periphery, Veil of Maya, Job For A Cowboy, Goatwhore, Exhumed, and Cerebral Bore, with special guests TBA in each city.
