TY
TABOR
"Ty
Tabor could be the baddest guitar player you've never
heard" - Guitar Player Magazine
Ty
Tabor, for lack of a better term, is simply a legend
in the guitar world. With his band, KING'S X, he and
his band mates have received just about every accolade
possible from the musician/artist community including
coveted opening tour slots with AC/DC, at the peak
of their career, PEARL JAM, at the peak of their career,
WOODSTOCK II, at the request of the events coordinators,
as well as Ty's collaborations with Stanley Clark,
Billy Sheehan, Tony Franklin, Munetaka Higuchi, Rod
Morgenstein (Dixie Dregs), Greg Bissonette, Carmine
Appice, John Myung (Dream Theatre), Derek Sherinian
(Planet X) and others.
Ty
Tabor is also one of the rare artists to have, not
one, but two signature guitars, which he designed,
through YAMAHA Guitars. However, regardless of Ty's
& King's X' history or popularity among their
peers, one indisputable fact remains; Ty is an astounding
artist, whose talents reach far beyond his ability
to play guitar. With "Safety", his sophomore
solo outing for Metal Blade Records, Ty has crafted
a simply honest, revealing album, replete with the
sparkling acoustic guitars, thick grooves and the
vocal melodies for miles, that Ty is known for. The
intense personal nature of "Safety" is what
sets this album apart from most of Ty's previous work.
There is a lot of struggle and hope represented here,
and the endeavor to make sense of life's complexities
is the thread that runs throughout "Safety".
Unlike most titles released through Metal Blade Records,
Ty's accomplishments as a musician and his proficiency
at creating melodic pop leaning songs insure that
"Safety" will appeal to broad fan base well
beyond the "Metal" audience.
